"What a great experience. I ordered a Canon PowerShot G6 on Saturday March 12th. I got the "confirm order" call on Monday. I was offered some additional memory but when I said "no thanks" that was the end of it. I received the camera today. Packing was a little whimpy but everything showed up as in great shape. "I was a bit leary of Butterfly after reading some of the negative reviews, but couldn't pass up the great price. Since I generally don't like to make "online" purchases, I called them up to place my order. Of course, they suggested a memory card and batteries, but politely took no for an answer. Received an e-mail with tracking # the same day, the camera arrived on the west coast 2 days later. Great! Uh oh, there's a problem...manufacturer's defect with the camera (not Butterfly's fault).
Now I'll find out about the "real" Butterfly Photo, I think. I called customer service, and after only 4-5 minutes on hold, they answered and were very helpful and polite, gave me an RMA# without hassle. I shipped the unit back and recieved it's replacement only 4 business days later! Awesome!

"With a bit of speculation, I decided to go for a K-M A200 since they had the best price among reputable on-line dealers. It came out great. They only asked me to call my sales rep - Brian, and all he wanted was to make sure my shipping address and billing address were identical and correct. NO UPSELL AT ALL. They even upgraded my shipping status to 2-day Fedex at no charge. It arrived 2 days later.
The only complaint that I might have is that they charge me 10% restocking fee if I'd return it. But almost all online camera stores charge restocking fees anyway.

"Completely satisfied. I ordered the Nikon Coolpix 3700 at a rock bottom price. As expected, they called me the following morning to verify the order and to suggest that I might need a spare battery. I declined the offer. The person thanked me and said the item would ship that same day. It arrived by FedEx the following morning! They are in New York, I am in California.
I paid only for the cheapest shipping. I was prepared to wait a week.
I didn’t feel pressured by the sales person. He was doing me a favor. Every digital camera should have a spare battery. But I declined the offer and that was the end of it.
I wonder if many if not all complaints against Butterfly are not due to a misunderstanding."

"I was told by another company that Butterfly photo was not that good to deal with due to their reseller rating. I beg to differ with that company. I bought a Minolta Dimage Z3 from Butterfly photo, thinking that they were going to try and scam me into a bait and switch deal. This was NOT the case. Since Butterfly photo had one of the lowest prices on this camera, they did try to get me to purchase some accessories. When I told them No thank you, they sent the camera with all the basic starter kit that comes in the box from Minolta and sent it FEDEX 2nd day ground. Can not beat that. Every other company like B & H who have overinflated prices, said that Butterfly photo was a bait and switch type company based on reseller ratings."

After researching camera resellers on the internet and hearing about all of the horror stories, I chose Butterfly Photo because they cleary print exactly what I will receive on their website. I knew that I would be recieving the battery, lens, charger...etc. Their price was pretty good. I got the dreaded confirmation call, and of course they tried to sell me additional items, but it wasnt hard to say no. I must say, their shipping was extremely fast. I paid for the 7-9 days and got it in 2. The Item is exactly what I expected. The only constructive note that I have for Butterfly photo is: Get rid of the follow up call. It's annoying. Or if you absolutly have to have the follow up call, try not to "suggest" so many items, or don't debate with the customer. After all, were always right. "

Wow. Great price. Ordered over the inet, got a confirmation a couple of hours latter. Next day, the 'dreaded' call about your order email. I called, gave the confirm #, he gave me my name and I said, right. I was ask about a memory card, I said I have them and that was a part of my camera selection, he said a filter, I said no thanks. Okay, we'll send it out. Here it is Friday evening and I am playing with my camera.

"Well, this was my first purchase with ButterFly Photo. Basically, in a nutshell. If you want to purchase something and have different shipping and billing addresses then you're in for trouble. You will have to change the billing address with your credit card company temporarily to your shipping address in order to be approved. I found this rather annoying to make a simple purchase this way. Why even offer the ability to take different shipping and billing addresses when placing a order if it's not going to work? I found this to be somewhat deceptive. Also, when choicing my shipping method, the radio buttons directly to the left do not work. When you click on the radio button it doesn't update your shipping price. However, you can click on the actually "link" next to the radio button and it will update the pricing correctly. I had to call them to have my shipment service changed due to this inconvience. Overall, they did make efforts to correct the problem. However, I don't know if I will want to buy with them again do to the hassel. On a good note, they had very nice customer service after waiting 15 minutes."
