"CDW is great. They have helped me repeatedly when trying to deal with lousy tech support from the company who's product I purchased from CDW. The ONLY time I get a response from said lousy company is when CDW gets involved on my side.

My rep, Dan, is great. I love that I can check my "intranet" with CDW and see who's in the office, what their numbers are, and what their specialty is. Truly a one-stop place to shop. The prices are decent, too (although usually not the best).

All in all, CDW is top notch. You pay for it sometimes, but it's ALWAYS worth it. Especially for a business user.

"I am reading the posts about CDW with a great deal of surprise. I am shocked that the average scores are so low. I have dealt with CDW quite a bit in the last 3 years and I am convinced they are one of the most professional and customer service oriented companies in the industry. I have to say this however: if you are an end user buying a single commodity type product, CDW might not be the place for you. They typically cater more to Businesses and Government from my experience. Even if I don't buy something, the rep calls and asks if I need anything, or if things with my order went well, etc. I think you need to keep everything in context when rating. "

"This is crap... I ordered an LCD monitor for my father on 2/2. 2/7 they cancel the order because he hadn't used his account for awhile and the phone number was not current (all other info was). Now they say they will reinstate the order, but the price went up from $273 to $429! Not the first problem with them, but it will be the last!"

"I normally don't rate companies that I find extremely reliable because I take for granted that others (who have used them for the first time) will give them good ratings. I was shocked to see such a low 6 month rating on cdw. I have been ordering from them for years (about 4) and have never had a single problem with them. I've probably ordered over 20 items from them in the past. I just ordered a 9" miracle monochrome monitor from them. To sum them up, they are very reliable but don't offer the cheapest prices. Order with confidence!"

"Placed order on 10/1/02 received two emails confirming order. One was from Jeremy Downing confirming my order D241901 (****@****)
I kepted checking order to see when it would be shipped. 10/2/02 not shipped, 10/3/02 not shipped, 10/4/02 not shipped, 10/5/02 not shipped, 10/6/02 not shipped, 10/7/02 order was CANCELLED BY CDW. YOU SHOULD ONLY ORDER FROM CDW IF YOU DON'T NEED WHAT YOU ARE ORDERING. You can not count on them to deliever! Very poor customer service!

"On Sept 30, 2002 I ordered 4 19" Sony G400's from their site. The next day a Rep from thier company called me to let me know that my order was canceled due to the fact that they had ony 1 in stock. I went to the webpage that listed the monitors while on the phone and they still showed it as For Sale. They said that my credit card wouldn't be charged. They said they were sorry. I checked my bank account I was missing over $500.00. CDW told me that the charge would be off in a week hopefully by the end of the week. On Oct 1, I checked their site once again, this time that stated that they where sold out as of SEPT 1, 2002. So if you like a company that has no idea if they even have what they offer, will not back up their price or offer you a simiilar item at the same price, CDW is for you. I purchase approx, $10K to $15K worth of hardware annually. CDW you have lost my bussiness for good. "

"What a terrible company. I bought a used motherboard from them. Then they called and said that the didn't have any of that type, would I like to buy a new one. The cost went from $60 to $160. I said no. Then they said that they found one identical to the one I had bought from them in stock [also used, same part, same part #] and they wondered if I would like that. Clearly I did, but not when they said, "oh, by the way, this one will cost you $120, not $60."

You can imagine how infuriating it is when one day after your order is confirmed, they call to say that they would like to ship the item to you, they just wanted to give you a heads up that they were going to charge 200% of the agreed price.

Oh, and by the way, they said all of this was legal since they state that they have a disclaimer that prices can change at any time. That may be legal, but in my book it is unethical.

"I placed an ordered an ASUS KT333 from their site at a price of $54.33. I received a confirmation of my order. 2 days later a sales associate called me and said the product had been discontinued, I believe not!! The associate offered to sell me the SAME EXACT MB for $179.99, what a joke. CDW is notorious for these kinds of tactics. So sad, a company has to resort to baiting the website and using FALSE selling tactics just to lure traffic. DO NOT USE CDW."

"I ordered a motherboard from them, got a confirmation email then a second email for sure that my order is being handled. Today I just got a message from them saying that the board is DISCONTINUED and canceled my order. Everything went fine when I started to order this mobo from online, all the personal information needed to order including the credit card number and to the end after two days they cancel my order because it's DISCONTINUED. I didn't know that this Asus VIA KT333 Raid 1394 USB2 is DISCONTINUED by now???"
