"This is a positive story, so please be patient and read it all. I created my account here just to share this story.

I placed an order on a $1625 lens with $25 shipping. The lens was out of stock in many other stores at the time I ordered. Two days later, I found J&R and Amazon had this lens at $1600 in stock with free shipping. I called Canoga and asked for a price match of $45. The first store clerk was friendly and told me he would transfer my phone to the person in charge, but no one answered me. I called the store again, now a person named Jamie answered me. He said he could not do price match because it was not their store's policy. He also said he had the authority to turn down my request. I asked him to transfer me to the manager. He did, but no one answered me. I called the store the third time and told Jamie that I wanted to talk with the manager. He transferred me to an elder man who said he was the manager. He talked to me about the business and blah blah. The point was that he could not do the price match. I was a little dissopointed and hanged up after 20-minutues conversation. Five minutes later, a call from Canoga came, a young man told me that he could do the price match for me this time. I asked what was his name and whether he was the manager. His name is Chris and he is the manager. Later, I went to the Canoga Camera website again and found out that Chris was the manager of Canoga. A few days later, I received my lens and loved it very much.

Now the point of this story is: if you have some problem wiht your order and if it seems difficult to be solved, call the store and ask for manager Chris. You have a better chance to have the problem solved.

"This is the second time I order from Canoga.
I will always get my photo gear from there.
The internet is a crazy place, don't go risking your money for cheaper (too good to be true) prices that are a hit or miss.

Pros:
1- Best buying experience.
2- Staff very friendly and extrememly helpful and will answer all your questions.
3- Staff will try to meet your needs without making you buy the more expensive stuff.
4- Prices are competitive. Yes, with all the above you still get a price better than most "reputable" stores.
5- I got a freebie rebel cap with my order :)

Cons:
Not a walking distance away from my house.

Highly recommended (very).

"Best prices, best service and fastest delivery I've ever experienced with on-line sellers. Three cheers for Canoga Camera and their staff. I've purchased from them before and I will buy from them again. I received a personal call from Chris about two hours after placing the order online to let me know the new Nikon D80, Nikon 18-200 AF VR Lens and Nikon SB-800 Flash I ordered were being packed for shipment and would be picked up by UPS that very day. I received the well packaged box just as promised on schedule. Their competitors can take a lesson from these folks, and I personally will be spreading the word (again). Many thanks to these folks."

"Called and checked with the sales representative who was very helpful; he suggested that ordering on line would provide faster service and it did. The web page was up-to-date, well documented and easy to navigate.
The product, a Tamron digital lens, was shipped when stated and arrived by the date specified.
Definitely a company to keep in your favorites – great prices and service.

"I was very impressed with this company. I called before ordering a very expensive camera to ask some questions. The gentleman that I spoke to was professional and very accommodating. He answered my questions and verified that the items I was ordering were indeed in stock.

I ordered the camera on line after a long search both at local camera stores and on line. Our local camera store had a similar package but my opinion is they did not put a lot of thought into it when they put it together. I would have had to spend an additional $50.00 to $100.00 dollars with them to even use the camera as the package did not come with a memory card or a protective filter for the lens.

Canoga Camera put their package together with great accessories so that when I bought it I was ready to take pictures right out of the box. It was priced even better than the local camera place even with shipping.

I ordered my item on a Friday and it was shipped that day. I can not say enough about how great I think this site is. The prices are fair and the service great and there is no apprehension that you will be getting inferior products.

"Wow! I was very happy with their prices, their order fulfilment, their customer service, just everything about this store. I can't believe they aren't talked about more in the photography mags. Forget the Brooklyn crooks. Don't waste your time or money. Do yourself a favor and at least talk to the folks at Canoga. I think you will be impressed. I was shopping for a Canon 40D outfit so I called Canoga (I can't remember how I found them but it wasn't as easy as it should have been). It was 30 min before they closed. I was put on hold for a few minutes and then a gal came on and asked what I was holding for. I told her I had some questions and she told me who she recommended I talk to, but he was busy. She asked if I wanted to hold or have him call me when he was free. I agreed to have him call me but was skeptical that he would, being as late as it was. Well he did call me back just 10 min before they closed and talked to me for a half hour or so. Absolutely no high pressure sales. He said that the lenses I was considering would be a good fit for what I described I would be doing. He made sure I knew it didn't come with a memory card and told me what some of his other customers have bought with a similar outfit. I asked about one of their bundles and he said that the filter that came with it was not great but he could give me a $5 credit toward a better one if I wanted. All in all, just a great experience. I am an engineer and I over evaluate everything I buy. I ended up buying from Canoga and I couldn't be happier. Their price was better than any other reputable dealer (ones recommended in the photo mags), they had excellent communications after the sale, the camera was shipped quickly and was very well packed. I know that this sounds too good to be true but it really is true. Honest. I saved over $360 (after shipping) versus buying local. $150 of the savings was due to tax but the rest was just due to their great prices. Better than B&H or any of the other reputable mail order places."

"Terrific service. I used to buy at an east coast competitor, but they wouldn't give me the time of day (beyond a lame, unhelpful online "chat" session with someone who knew less than I did) when I needed extra information about product compatibility. Paul, with Canoga Camera, however, took the time to speak with me by phone, physically verify stock and set it aside, answer my questions re. compatibility, and then they shipped everything promptly at an extremely competitive price. Kathy even followed up with me by email during frantic few days before Christmas, to make sure I was getting what I wanted, when I needed it. These people do not over-promise; instead, they exceed expectations. Kudos! Cannot recommend highly enough.

"I ordered a Canon 100-400 lens and after ordering over the phone I received a phone call from the owner's wife. She just called to verify the address and thank me for my order. I was quite impressed. During the phone order, they did talk me into a UV filter. The lens and filter was shipped the next day and was recieved in about 4 more days. Upon receiving it, I decided I didn't want the filter. I called and they provided instructions for sending it back. Within a little over a week, I had a full refund for the filter. I'll be sending money their way again. They also had the best price on the lens, after comparing to other reputable online companies."
