"I was a little skeptical after reading the reviews here but was pleasantly surprised with the fast shipping and I received exactly what I ordered. I will certainly order again when it's time for more!
Thank you.

"I did not have a good experience with this company. I ordered a set of graphic cards (that were very hard to get) since I could not find them anywhere and it was listed "in stock" on Capitolsupply's website. Once the order was completed and paid for, I was notified the next day by a phone call that the product was NOT in stock and was estimated that they would have it in a week. I should have canceled the order sooner but I kept on waiting after receiving multiple emails notifying they would have it soon. Finally, after 2 months, I canceled my order and Sheriden (who was always very polite) notified me that my refund would take up to a few days. I disputed the charge with my credit card company just in case and I was refunded in 2 days.

I notice on their site they have a "check availability" button now which wasn't there before. It lists the item that I want as unavailable, where as before it would just list it as in stock. Hopefully they've got their act together.

"Capitol Supply really and I mean really saved us money! we were comparing new garbage disposal prices after ours went caput and Home Depot wanted over 100.00 for the new Whirpool disposal we liked.
After searching online I was shocked to see Capitol Supply was asking only 71.00 dollars(including shipping) for the same EXACT disposal Home Depot wanted over 100.00 for!!!(actually 119.00 before tax)
Thank you Capitol Supply! we will be purchasing more appliances from you in the future!

"I just had my worst online shopping experience with CapitolSupply.com.

I ordered Iomega Prestige Desktop Hard Drive, USB 2.0, 1TB from Capitol Supply through my Bing.com Cashback account December 29. The credit card got charged right away, but no confirmation email. I contacted Capitol Supply about 10 days later because I never received the package.

They said they would work with the FEDEX because it got delivered and left at the garage door. I told them that I never lost any package. After about two weeks’ dispute, they finally agreed to send me a replacement. I got the replacement last Friday, but it was a 250GB hard drive, not the 1TB I ordered.

I called them this morning, told them what happened, and sent them a screenshot what I ordered (captured from Bing.com with 1TB written with the order). Finally the supervisor called me back and told me there was nothing they could do. I had to return the 250gb hard drive via UPS to them, they would then credit me the amount I paid. I told them I do not want a credit after waiting for more than a month for the product I ordered, I really just want a 1TB hard drive I ordered. But the supervisor said that there was nothing they could at this point. I mentioned about complaining to BBB, and the supervisor was rude to imply that they would not care if I complained.

I was appalled at their rudeness and unwillingness to help their customer. If they do not have a product on stock, they should not advertise it on the website, and then duped customers into buying what they do not have with a price of that unavailable product.

I would advise you stay away from purchasing through them at all.

"Coupons. One of the reasons why you'd want to order from them. Prices. That, too. If you have other reasons like: availability, clarity of order confirmation, accuracy of inventory, and processing speed, well... that's another story.

Since it seems they market to institutions, government agencies and retailers, I identified myself as one of their clients. Anyhow, that is not exactly the case per Phil. As I was told the majority of their clients are end users. Which means unlike government agencies, they pay sales tax. Unlike retailers, end users do not have Resale permits to enable sales tax-free transactions. So, their system is essentially not geared to retain your Seller's permit information.

My retail store operates in Southern California. And as such we purchase in bulk using our Resale Certificate to waive Sales Tax charges on transactions. Nothing unusual since this is the standard procedure with all our other vendors, local or otherwise.

There is a way to do it, if it applies to your case. As for my business, I just have to fax my seller's permit or certificate EVERY time I order. Then follow it up to check and see whether anyone received it. And hope somebody confirms it and deducts the amount from your transaction.

It works. I'm not talking about cost-efficiency here. But if you don't mind giving them phone calls, or if your time is less valuable than the tax equivalent of your total purchase, all is good.

Keep in mind that also that you will be charged for the total amount right away, whether the items are available or not, whether you will be getting it earlier or later, or way later than you would expect.

Now, for the ordering part. First thing you do, and the most important thing to do to avoid embarrassing yourself in front of your clients: Give them a call to confirm if the items you are buying REALLY are available. Get prices, get names, get numbers, write them down.

When I ordered the first time, it said 12 items were available. I received a phone call from them notifying me that there were only 6, the others will be on back-order. And the wait is 15-20 days.
I received only 2. Which gave me a chance to look like a fool to my customers.

The second time I ordered, is 2 days from my order date as of this writing. No confirmation sent yet, no tracking number, no idea whether anyone really received my faxed seller's permit, no returned calls either. It's like deliberately making yourself into a moron in the eyes of your customer.

It's an enjoyable experience - if you can afford to let this happen to you. Of course, there are several reviews about Capitol Supply out there, so read and ignore them just like I did.

If you are in the business of trying to lose money and customers, you have 1 million ways to do it. But why go anywhere else?

"Ordered a Targus Laptop Backpack that showed on their website as in stock. After having my credit card charged for the item and four days after the actual order, I received an email from an individual at this company stating the item was out of stock. Very poor customer and inventory control in my opinion. Upon reading other reviews for this company, it appears to be an ongoing issue with them."

"good price, checked resellerratings and saw lousy rating. Greedy, went ahead and order a couple of wii controllers which were supposedly in stock. Three days later get an email not identified as CapitolSupply which I thought was spam but which informed me I was out of luck...not in stock. Now I have to make sure I don't get charged. Result, unhappy kid and pain in the butt. Moral, trust the rating."

"I was trying to find a matching set of brackets and standards for an adjustable shelf. The finish listed was exactly what I was looking for; however, upon receipt I found that even though the finish color was the same name and made by the same company it wasn't anywhere close and it was of a much inferior quality. The invoice also showed that shipping was complete but yet I had not received the entire order. When I contacted them concerning the return of the partial order they were very polite and told me where to ship the brackets. The standards were supposedly on back order but could not be stopped and I was told to ship them back when I received them. The standards showed up prior to my getting a response from the above communication and so I just refused them. I contacted the supplier and told them that I had received them but refused delivery. After a month or so I had not yet seen a credit on my Visa account and I again contacted the supplier to which they replied that they actually had not yet returned the brackets to their supplier and did so once a month an I should expect a credit within the next few days. About a month later I had realized that I still had not received a credit and I again contacted the supplier who apologized for the inconvenience and told me that my account would be credited immediately.

So although a very messy transaction it did all get settled in the end but had I not kept it in the back of my mind I could've easily ended up paying for something that I had returned.

"Ordered a Seagate NAS 440 TB, which was shown to be in stock. Called two weeks later after no contact and found they b/o, but were now showing re-stock and would shipping within days. A week later, I received a Seagate NAS 220 - a completely different unit, AND much cheaper.

After struggling with Capitol for nearly a month to get what I had paid for immediately, their response was to say only that this model was no longer available and they could only refund my purchase. A scan of the site did show the same model being offered, but the price had nearly doubled. OK, so they lie and then lie again and now refuse to honor their original price I paid.

Incredulous, I contacted them and they had no response to but to say they could only offer refund, or substitute a model in the same price category - offering a Western Digital model comparable to the NAS 220. I said no thanks, and decided to cut bait and get my refund / move on.

But wait, there is more! They would not refund my money until I returned the unit to their possession. Not confident a company that was this incompetent would refund correct and promptly, I refused and demanded the refund first. It took over a month and filing cases with the FTC and BBB before they did the right thing and settled - what a nightmare - I'll never buy from Capitol again!

"I tried to order a filing cabinet from Capitol Supply. 2 weeks later they informed me that the product was out of stock and that they had only a vague sense of when it might be available again.

No idea why it had to take 2 weeks to simply figure out they didn't have what I ordered. What a waste of time.

"I had a bad experience ordering from the website. To be fair, the Capital Supply is an honest company, their customer service is first-rate, and all my problems were resolved eventually, but the website needs work. It might be better to use another method to order from them. They also appear to be geared more towards business, government, or institutional sales than sales to individuals.

First, I tried to use a Visa giftcard to pay for the order, but it was declined, I called customer service and was told they don't accept them. When I tried to go back and pay with a regular credit card, I got an error message, and had to start over because my shopping cart was gone. Later I found a hold was placed on the gift card for the amount of the sale, and I could not use it for a few days until the hold expired.

I re-entered my order and paid with a credit card, only to find out after I had finalized the order that one of the items was not available, although the page for the item still indicated otherwise. I called customer service, and was told that the problem was due to the fact that they could only update the website and remove deactivated items a few times a year.

Later that day, I received an email directing me to sign and fax a document back to them authorizing the sale. I called again, because I don't have access to a fax machine. Customer service told me it was not necessary, but I decided to cancel the sale anyway because of the missing items.

She agreed to issue a refund. When I checked with my credit card issuer, I found that I had been charged for the missing items as well, and had to request an additional refund.

While everyone I dealt with was polite and professional, all my questions were answered, and I was refunded my money, none of these problems should have happened.
