"Broken Product and Horrible customer service!"
"I had conducted business with Carol Wright for years with no issues. Recently, however, I experienced a significant one. I placed an order and received the confirmation e-mail for my order. I decided to cancel the order, placing 5 phone calls to do so. Each time I was told by customer service my order was not in the system yet. After the 5th day, the charge for the item appeared on my checking account statement, for they had debited my bank card. I called Carol Wright to cancel the order. Customer service had no record of the order, despite my confirmation number and e-mail. They also could not explain why my bank card was charged when no record of my order existed in their system. I disputed the charge with my bank to have the charge removed."
"I called to order one item for 9.99 because the magazine said free shipping. What a bunch of garbage! They added a so called handling fee bringing my total to 16.99 when its suppose to be free! They just lost another customer!"
"Maybe this is a small thing, but it's still my money down the drain. I ordered some underwear and they were at least 4 sizes too small - couldn't even get them past my calves. They were supposed to be "stretchy, comfortable nylon." No way - pure polyester. Also, bought some around the house shoes - cute but OMG the chemical smell when I opened the package. You can smell them throughout the house and I'm scared to wear them for fear of poisoning! Based on these other complaints - it's not worth the aggravation to return them AND you cannot leave a review of the products on their website so I'm getting out my frustrations here. If you get their catalog - throw it in the trash!"
"I ordered something that allowed me to make a two month payment. I soon realized they had charged me an additional 3 months as well. When I contacted the company they informed me that I was paying for a monthly membership. I did not request to pay for a membership. I had to go on their website to cancel this membership and the company did not offer me a refund. I will no longer do business with this company as I feel they take advantage of people with their payment plan and continue to take money out of their accounts claiming its a membership fee. That is a scam!!!!"
"I ordered the Men's Sweatpants and my husband was pleasantly surprised. They have a ZIPPER in the front!! Also, not only are there two standard pockets in the front. But a BACK WALLET POCKET WITH A VELCRO CLOSURE! He loves these! Perfect fit, true to size!!!"
" I was sent a catalog unsolicited to my home, claiming I had credit up to $400. I ordered something for a hundred and thirty-five dollars. I waited 10 days not hearing anything, or receiving an email from them. When I went online I was informed I be receiving a letter which I still have not received, claiming that I would have to give them some money before they would ship out the product. If you get a catalog and they say you have credit throw it away, they falsely tell you have credit and then don't send out your product until they have the cash. They ask more for the product I found out then in the stores so I cancelled my order and we'll go to the stores and pay cash for close to 75% off of what they were charging."
" I ordered my order 12/21/18 from Carol Wright Gifts. Paid 23.?? for it to be here for Christmas.Christmas was a no show. I checked online and 1 gift was on backorder till 1/4. On the 4th I checked and it was available today. Check again today and its on back order till 1/18. Called CS and they said you will get it in early Feb. They refunded the shipping charge after complaining I was guaranteed Christmas delivery not Valentines delivery. I called Harriet Carter Gifts and they had it in stock on will deliver to me Before the other "might" be in. I cancelled my order from Carol Wright Gifts and ordered from Harriet Carter Gifts. If you need something soon DO NOT USE Carol Wright Gifts."
"First I will say the young lady I dealt with on the phone was really great, however unfortunately this Company IS NOT. I placed an order online just over a month ago and something triggered my memory of it and that I had not received the goods ordered. I called to check on it and was told the order had been declined but I wasn't notified. I suppose given some of the other reviews I have read I should feel lucky that's all that happened, my card wasn't charged multiple times, my order was not lost in shipping but declared delivered or they weren't calling me continually seeking some payment already made. I feel grateful for my Blessings, however several of the items I ordered were important to me and when the young lady I worked with tried to re-do the order they were no longer available which makes me wonder if they ever were, if their system tracks inventory to notify clients, I am thinking NO. But bottom line in an online world so jammed packed with options this Company "Carol Wright Gifts" needs to do all it can to compete to keep customers and noticing customers when things go wrong is very important! Again I thank Mary for her help she was awaesome but again unfortunately this Company is not!"
"I ordered a handbag which they say was delivered and I never received. All I get is we will get back to you in 24-48 hours which never happens. No way to speak to a supervisor. Place stinks"
"This Shopping Magazine was in my mailbox for anyone including my kids to see. I did not order it and am quite frankly **** off the US postal service would deliver such a thing. For crying out loud does your company have any dignity?
I wouldn't order something from you at this point if you were the last company on earth.
Unbelievable... anything to make a buck hey?"
"A month a go a placed an order and they started hounding me for payment within 2 weeks, then after one letter, said they were NOT giving me the credit they had granted but if I send 25% of what I owe they would release the next order.
I paid it in full online and then got on chat where some obviously ignorant representative from who knows where told me that if I had paid it then I needed to call Carol Wright to let them know or they would not release what I had just ordered recently I don't even remember what it was but told her if they can't figure that out on their own accounts they could keep it.
Terrible experience! They are a big come on."
"I placed an order with CWG on 1/20/17. On 1/24/17 they sent me an email saying my order had shipped, and provided a link for tracking my shipment. I clicked on the link and it said "1-24-18 shipment information sent to FedEx." For the next five days, I went online to check for tracking updates and there were none. I plugged the tracking number into FedEx's site, and they said they had not received the package from the sender. Finally, on 1/29/18, I called CWG customer service and spoke with one representative, who had a heavy (south Asian/Indian) accent. I said I wanted to know what happened to my order - that it was supposedly shipped 5 days ago but the shipper had no record of receiving it. I could barely understand her but she kept repeating stock phrases like "your order is in transit" and "orders are shipped within 7-10 days." I said I wanted to know why FedEx had not received my order. She would not answer that question but kept repeating the stock lines. Then she said that my order was shipped not by FedEx but by USPS. I asked the tracking number (which was the same). I said thank you, and went online to plug the tracking number into USPS. USPS said they had not received the package from the sender. I called back and spoke to another representative (with a similar accent) who gave me the exact same song and dance. I asked to speak with a supervisor at least 5 times and I was always told that the supervisors were not available because they were answering other calls. I kept asking, what happened to my package. He kept saying, "it's in transit." He started making up things like, "why don't you wait until the end of the week" I think just to get rid of me. After yelling at him that I must speak with a supervisor, finally someone else came on the phone (same accent). She gave all the same lines as the previous representatives with absolutely zero information to answer my question. She said the package was in transit. I said if it was in transit, the USPS site would show that. She asked whether I had contacted my local post office. I said, why haven't you given my package to USPS? and she just kept telling me to wait a few days. Talking to them is like talking to a wall. They have ZERO information, completely unable to help. Finally, I asked them to cancel my order. She said she couldn't do that. I asked to speak with their legal department. She said that they didn't have any such department.

"BE CAREFUL. THEY SIGN YOU UP FOR A THREE MONTH "PERK" TRIAL PERIOD, AND IF YOU DONT CANCEL, YOU WILL SEE A CHARGE OF $14.99 EACH MONTH. AFTER CALLING THE CUSTOMER SUPPORT NUMBER, THE GENTLEMAN WAS VERY NICE AND STOPPED THE CHARGES, EVEN CREDITED MY 2 CHARGERS. BUT BEWARE, IF YOU DONT CHECK YOUR ACCOUNT THEY GOT YOU !!!"
"My husband ordered a pair of boots from these people. The boots that arrived were marked as a men's size ten, but were smaller than a child's shoe. We returned the boots and asked for a refund (we had to pay to return the boots). We then discovered that my husband's credit was charged for a "continuing withdrawal charge." THIS COMPANY DOES NOT SELL LEGITIMATE MERCHANDISE - THEY ONLY WANT TO GET YOUR CREDIT CARD SO THAT THEY CAN CHARGE IT OVER AND OVER. Thankfully our credit card company has protections in place so that we could dispute the charges and get it stopped. The Carol Wright company's explanation for the charge was that everyone who orders from them is automatically signed up for a 'premium program' - you don't get anything for this, they just use it as a justification for charging your credit card monthly. And we never got a refund for the boots."
