"I rented a car from Budget for 3 days through Carrentals in January this year. Over two months later, without any forwarning, reason or authorisation, Budget took money from my credit card. My emailed requests to Budget for an explanation have gone unanswered. I have since sought a resolution from Carrentals as it is from them that I booked the car. They have offered no support and have effectively distanced themselves from the rental company that they actively promote. Carrentals will happily take your money but if anything goes wrong do not expect any surport from them whatsoever."

"I rented a car for a weekend starting on Thursday at 6pm. Due to a hurricane in Florida, all airports were closed on Thursday so I could not arrive during that night. When I arrived on Friday morning, the car rental company informed me that my reservation had been cancelled (automatically, 2 hours after my expected arrival time, despite a statewide emergency) and they did not have any cars available for me. I did not receive any calls, text or emails from anyone - they simply cancelled it on their own without informing me. I thought I would get some support from Carrentals.com since I had rented the car through them but after struggling to speak with someone at the company (their website does not include a phone number and the chat did not work), they did not provide any support and even refused to refund my deposit. In other words, I was left without a car, which I was forced to pay for."
"TERRIBLE and expensive. Rented a car through booking.com, a website to book hotels at least once a week! Needed a car in Helsinki and clicked on rent a car. Seems that after this click you are done. Having the feeling you deal with booking.com you get involved with the worlds biggest scam carrentals.com. I really do not understand that booking.com, not booking through them anymore either, relates themselves to this organization.
The carrentals.com went to Alamo at Helsinki International airport. So an international airport and an international car rental company. They ONLY accept Visa credit cards for the guarantee. What INTERNATIONAL company only accepts one CREDIT CARD?? This was nowhere mentioned in the terms and booking, but carrentals.com refuses to refund the rental cost. NOTE I had hundreds of Euros in taxi fees that week. DISGUSTING"

"Upon arriving at the rental site my quote was tripled. There was not an option to chose another rental service as the location was an off airport site & the shuttle bus driver decided to take a lunch break at 6pm after myself & 6 other people requested a refund after they showed their terrible policies (which were inconsistent with what was online)
Their customer service after the fact is terrible & is only interested in closing your case for their statistics with no resolution or apology that has not been copy and pasted.

Me and my gf flew from Florida to Chicago for my nieces wedding and when we got to the car rental pick up they denied me rental service because I was paying with debit card so they needed a credit check but I didn't pass. Now I've paid for a rental car that I didn't use and carrentals.com.refuses to issue refund for services that were denied. Horrible company, use any one else but them... "
"I made an on-line reservation this past Spring for an SUV and made payment of over $1000 to secure my reservation. However, my late night arrival at the Thrifty Car Rental in Detroit had no record of my reservation. I was unable to secure a vehicle at the price I was quoted and was left with no other option than to come back the following day for a car because there were no rentals available. The worst part was that my rental rate went up by $700 for the same amount of time minus one day. Be prepared to pay close to $100/day for your rental car. Consumers are being gauged as a result of companies losing so much revenue last year. I will never go through rentalcars.com again even if there are no other options. What a scam. "
