"Our phones don't have SIM cards so we rented a phone for a trip to Australia and New Zealand. The phone arrived quickly and in good condition with all accessories. Coverage and reception were good.

Unfortunately, the phone number was a problem. The website states you will receive a local number, but we received a UK number. Several Aussie friends said the number didn't work and they weren't able to reach us. For those who could dial it, it was very expensive since it was an international call.

We ended up mostly texting and calling people back using land lines and prepaid phone cards, which negated the convenience of having a cell phone in the first place.

Customer Service explained that having a single UK number keeps the roaming charges down when you travel in multiple countries. However, this is not explained clearly on the website so be aware before you rent."
