Contacting Vet

"don't get me wrong the prices are great but when purchasing medication dog food, i don't understand when you need to contact my vet. What is the difference when purchasing it at your local PetSmart/ Petco? I don't think that it is necessary that you need to have this information when you pet has been on this medicated dog food for 5 years.

This shouldn't be a needed field it should be optional.
I also couldn't not get a valid explanation as to what the difference is.

Poor, Poor for this company/ Website.

Best. Customer Service. Ever!!!!!

"I made a mistake on an order. Totally my fault. I meant to cancel an item (changing dog food brands), but apparently I didn't finish the process. Right on time, according to the information I'd given, the order shipped. When I discovered the problem and called I received bar none the most helpful, friendly, and amazing customer service I've ever experienced. The agent immediately cancelled my order and sent the order to re-route it back to the company and started the refund process very helpfully. Even helped to expedite the refund! Not only that, but told me that if the product actually does deliver despite this, that I was encouraged to donate what I couldn't use to a local shelter. Who does that???? That's over $50 worth of premium dog and cat food!!! I ended up speaking with two reps and two supervisors (helping facilitate the refund with my bank), and had wonderful conversations with all four of them. So helpful! Prior to this, I had a question about dog food and the right one for my puppy, and the agents I spoke with then were amazingly knowledgeable and helpful. They really know what they're talking about, and I found out that all the reps go through in-depth training on all the different brands regarding the health and nutrition for all sorts of circumstances just so that they CAN make truly helpful recommendations.... based on product knowledge - not price! I discovered Chewy.com by word-of-mouth from enough sources that I just had to check it out myself..... and I am so very glad I did! You will be, too!!"

Great company with great people

"I recently made my first few purchases from Chewy.com. At first, just what you would expect - order what you want, it shows up when they said. Good business. But then something happens (as it always does). A company is only really tested when things don't go well. I had bought a crate and picked the wrong size. I was going between two sizes with different features and apparently I ordered the one I decided wouldn't work. I went back and checked my order and sure enough - my fault, not theirs. I received exactly what was on the order, in 2 days. So, now I had to ask how to send this large crate back and if there would be any fees for oversize, restock, etc. They issued me a refund and worked with me to donate the crate to a local rescue instead of return shipping. How amazing is that!
I had been price shopping with them and only getting stuff when the savings was 'worth waiting for'. Well, not now - they just earned all my future pet supply business.

great customer service

"Called Chewy cause it took longer for a shipment - was told they didnt ship on sundays which I did not know. Then today I got 2 shipments - I called and they said was sent because they wanted to make sure my cat was not without food. I offered to pay for extra shipment but they said no charge.I am 84 yrs old and I have never encountered such a great customer service. It made me feel that there are still some companies with a heart.Kudos to Chewy and their employees."

So incredibly kind and thoughtful...

"Yesterday I contacted Chewy.com to find out how I could exchange a collar I recently bought off their website. I had decided I wanted the same collar just in a different color. The associate refunded my account for the amount of the collar and told me to go ahead and add the new one to my cart. She then waived the shipping fee and told me to donate the other collar to a shelter instead of having me send it back. While helping me, she briefly asked me about my dog. I thought nothing of it other than it was nice of her to make small talk about my pupper. Cut to this morning: I got an e-mail telling me my order had shipped, but when I glanced at the items I was alarmed because they were items I never bought. In the e-mail I saw the last 4 of my debit card and a subtotal of $71 and change. I immediately called their customer service, thinking my account was hacked or something. The rep had asked if it was my dog's birthday this month. Right then I recalled the small talk from the previous day about Brody - I said he is a beagle and he will be 6 years old this month. Turns out, that rep had gone on to select several items as a birthday package for Brody to be shipped out for free! I was in such a panic this morning that had I really looked at the e-mail instead of just glancing, I would have noticed the "100% off order" line below the subtotal, and that the items are all birthday themed along with a giftset of 4 drinking glasses with cute beagles on them. I have NEVER had such an amazing customer service experience like this before! I am SO heart-warmed by this and, while I had already been using Chewy regularly for 90% of my dog supplies, I now never want to go ANYWHERE else for them. There is NO better place to purchase your pet products than Chewy.com "

You put how many holds on my credit card?

"I have used Chewy for years. Prices are good and shipping is fast. However, they have a terrible habit of putting multiple holds on your credit card for one transaction . Had this happened only one time, I wouldn't complain, but it has happened multiple times, and the holds are for significants amount of money. Often these holds total over three times the original order's price. There excuse is always, "oh, we had to ship from multiple warehouses, and the one order was 5 dollars and the other was 50 dollars, so you have three holds on your account for 60 dollars, totaling 180 dollars, but not to worry, they should fall of within 48 hours! " Well, I do worry. I am not wealthy, I do not have a million dollar credit limit , so every penny counts for me! So just a warning, make sure you check your credit statement every time you order! "

Chewy has been absolutely amazing!

"First, off the thing, i hate the most to do is to pick up dog food. So to have this come to your home within two days is amazing. We have a little puppy with special needs. so we have been trying different foods with him to see what he is not allergic too. As soon as they realized that I need a vet prescription for my order they called me and asked for my vet info with into 5 minutes called me back and said they had figured it out. Very fast service! We recently just ordered dog food and my baby became allergic to is and has been vomiting and throwing up blood. I emailed Chewy asked if they could do anything considering the dog food was over $90. And they emailed me back saying they will refund my money! I am so grateful for such a good, helpful caring company! Thank you chewy!!"

Great Company

"I am never one to write reviews but Chewy has been so amazing I want to share my experience. I used chewy as a pet food supplier for several years and never had any issues. Food always in stock, always delivered on time, and always got a hold of customer service on the first ring. Chewy was great in my mind then but where they really went above and beyond was when my dog passed. Not only did they refund me for the full price of the dog food that had arrived and we never opened, but they also told me to donate the food on our dogs behalf and were very compassionate on the phone. On top of all that, they sent flowers and a card to our house along with their condolences. Chewy is a company that truly cares about the pets they serve and i would highly recommend them to anyone and plan to use them again when we decide to adopt another dog. They were amazing!"

Would give 10/5 if possible!!

"Chewy is an amazing company!! They are not your standard American company, meaning they are not greedy and out for your money. Their customer service is American based and they TRULY care about you, your dogs, and shelter dogs! (and other animals I'm sure) I have 3 huskies, one of them is a sorta-new addition to the pack. The other two have been eating Whole Earth Farms so we started the new guy on the same, but he didn't tolerate it and developed C. diff and had bloody stools. Our vet told us to stop the Whole Earth Farms as the type of protein may be irritating him but ANYWAYS.....I called Chewy to see if I could send our unopened bag back (since we typically ordered 2 at a time) and they said to donate the unopened bag and then they refunded me for both bags!! I also had ordered probiotics that I needed to cancel because I found out I still had some and she refunded me those and said that if they happened to ship anyways, to just donate them to the local shelter!! So incredible! This is my favorite company I've ever used, WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND 150% of the time!! "

Happy Happy

"I just recently started this year shopping with them and was amazed first time out. I never give 5 stars but if I ever did, Chewy would get one of the first. Great costumer service and even asked about my fur babies. Great touch, shipping speed Amazing!!! and free on a minimal amount, price very competitive. Will always recommend "

Best Customer Service Ever!

"Chewy is the best! Today, I received my package. The bag of dog food was busted and kibble was scattered around in the box and I was missing an order of bones-no big deal...it happens! I chatted with a rep online (Daniel S.) and explained my situation. I just wanted to share my opinions about the shipment and request another set of bones. He sent a replacement for the bones...and a new bag of dog food! I cannot express the level of care this company has for its brand reputation and great customer service. I will continue to give them my business and refer them to all of my friends and family. Thanks Chewy and keep up the great work!!! "
