"I found a vid card on pricewatch from this company called chumbo. Thought it sounded like a funy name. Checked here and they had a decent rating so I ordered No problems with the order and received the vid card in 2 days."
"Terrible service. I ordered a Toshiba Portege m200 (which was on back-order) from their website. I was fine with waiting. I called them 2 weeks later and they said they cancelled my order. I suspect it was a price mistake on their part, and they made up some excuse regarding their manufacturer no longer making the product... it's a Toshiba m200 (2003 model). Will never purchase again."
"I was throughly impressed with the speed of shipment. I ordered a Boomslang2100 gaming mouse and ratpadz mouse pad. I placed my order and within 30 minutes had a order confirmation and within 2 hours my order was shipped. I paid the extra $5 for overnight. Got the order as promised and on time."
"Purchased wide angle camera lens from CHUMBO.COM. Best price of all "reputable" dealers. Free 2 day FedEx. Item delivered in perfect condition and on time. Will definately consider them for future purchases."
"Excellent transaction. I goofed and ordered the wrong item but Chumbo was very good about correcting my mistake when I called them. The salesman was polite and professional. I would gladly do buisness with them again."
"fast delivery, no problems, good prices - especially like "free" fast 2nd day air fedex- other companies offer "free" delivery but it is ground"
"I purchased an Addonics IDE DigiDrive from Chumbo on 12/15. Although they completely failed to provide timely information regarding the status fo the order, it arrived quickly.
Unfortunately, the item was defective and I was not able to immediately determine this due to other issues that arose while constructing the computer. Once I realized that there was a problem, I got in touch with the manufacturer in an attempt to solve the problem. Once it became apparent that the device was defective, I requested a RMA from Chumbo.
They refused.
They claimed that since 40 days had passed since my placing the order, they could not accept the return, even though the item they sold me was defective from the start.
This is completely unacceptable.
I have filed a dispute with my credit card company and hopefully I will not be left owning a useless device.
Bottom line - their name says it all - Chumbo is for chumps."
"Ordered some software.
Lowest price found on the web with FREE 2nd-day FedEx shipping. Received timely communication/ emails as to the status of my order, followed up with tracking information, concluded with the two day delivery. Billing was handled appropriately.
I am pleased with this vendor. I will look to do business with them in the future."
"I had a very good experiance with this company, bought software and got it very quick in mail, had 2nd day free shipping, good price on stuff, i would shop here again."
"I did a search for the lowest price for a game. Chumbo.com was about $1 more than gogamer.com (which is where I usually buy my games), but Chumbo had free 2day FedEx.
I ordered from Chumbo, and got the shipment 2 days later. Very good so far.
I open the box, and it is the WRONG ITEM.
Disapointed, but hey, mistakes happen. The key is how well does a company fix the mistake?
I call them up, and am immediately connected with a REAL PERSON. No waiting, no pushing buttons, good stuff.
I tell them what happened, and the first thing they say is: 'First thing we will do is overnight you the correct item.'
They then told me they would call me back after they researched what happened. 10 minutes later I recieved a call, and they tell me to keep the wrong game they sent me, because it is not worth the hassle to ship it back.
Overall a painless experience despite the mistake, and not a bad price for a game with free 2 day FedEx."
"My 1st order and it went smooth as glass. Delivered on time and in good condition. Received a tracking number which to me is important. I will be ordering from them again. Keep up the good work."
"I ordered a Proxim Orinoco 802.11 a/b/g combo card which Chumbo claimed was in stock. Instead, they sent me some sort of USB ethernet adaptor, wrapped only in a layer of stiff brown paper (can't afford packing peanuts or bubble wrap for expensive electronics?). I submitted an RMA, and a short while later a woman called and explained that there had been a problem with their site, and although the picture, description, etc were for what I ordered, the Chumbo part # and the price were for this USB adaptor. Anyway, she claimed that this was simply a site mistake - but I had called a week earlier to check on when the Proxim card would be in stock. After giving the CHUMBO part #, it was confirmed that this was the product I wanted at the price I saw. The woman on the other end said that they do not even carry that model, but one similar to it which I could buy for $35 more than I paid already! I don't believe that it could simply be a site mistake given the two contradicting pieces of evidence that 1.) the person I talked to a week earlier confirmed the product using the Chumbo part number and 2.) they claim to never have carried that product. And after all this, Chumbo told me that they feel they have made up for this mistake by paying for the return shipping (but it took 4 days for them to even send the shipping label!).
All I can say is that I'll never buy from here again! If you want a more reliable source of parts, try eBay (sad, but true)."
"Ordered a D-Link router on the 26th and recived it on the 30th. Order went smoothly."
"Surfing for software item and up came Chumbo. The price was OK and shipping free. Great contact and fast shipping. Their service is what online buyers look for. Will order from them again."
"Service was good, prices were reasonable, but the shipping was just downright bad. They said you get free 2nd day shipping. Well my product was shipped Monday morning, I received it Thursday, by my math that is 3 days, not 2. But that wasn't the worst part, I ordered this product within minutes of ordering something else from another retailer, only the other retailer used UPS ground (which it said was 5-7 days). This product was also shipped Monday morning. The difference? The one shipped by UPS I received the next day. So the one that should have taken longer really arrived 2 days before the one that should have come first.
My only other complain is their "order status" page is a pain. They don't give you a direct link in your confirmation email, instead you have to go to the customer login page, type in your email and password, then click order status, then select the particular order, then select the FedEx tracking number. It would be much nicer if there was a direct link to take you right to the status page for the particular order. Then it is just 1 click to get the FedEx info."
