No Customer service

"I accidentally double ordered. I immediately called customer service, waited on hold for 36 minutes before I hung up. Sent the customer service two emails...no reply. Received my products that included a free lighter and the lighter did not work. Glad it was only my second and last order.

This Company Is Really Bad

"Been a customer of CI for 8 or 9 years. During that period have purchased well over 20 grand in cigar products from CI. Three weeks ago received an order that had been placed for ten packs (five cigars a pack) for a total of 50 cigars. The shipment only contained 7 packs. Short three packs, 15 cigars, worth $75 ($5 per cigar). My credit card was charged the full amount, $250, plus shipping. Over the past three weeks I have emailed CI three times and have not heard a word. "

Ignore the haters; they're still great!

"Cigar International has been a fantastic place to shop for stogies. They're always running specials, whether their Deal of the Day (which usually includes free shipping), or their CigarFU offerings (which is usually steeply discounted), and at least their website portal CS representative has always been attentive and helpful. With all the money they've saved me over the years, these guys deserve a nudge up. Recently, I order 10 Ruination Robusto #2's and 10 CAO Flathead 660s which, with their currently-running discounts, cost me $60, or $3 a piece. You can't find those kind of prices in stores.

You may have noticed a lot of complainers complaining in their reviews about how a CI system update error caused problems in their warehouse and delayed shipping substantially. I was part of that. Took over 25 days to get one order, but mistakes happen. They apologized, explained what happened, and they're back on track. My most recent orders shipped within a day or two and took a week to arrive on cheap shipping.

Beware

"The old adage "if something is too good to be true, it often is" rings true for this company. I learned years ago to stay away from their private lable cigars and that their staff reviews were biased to push said cigars. (They're not all bad but most are.) Recently, after a long haitus, I noticed some unbelievable specials on some cigars I liked so I ordered them. Those cigars were so poorly conditioned that the humidity in my humidor rocketed to over 80%. They were unsmokable, and I had to resurrect an old humidor to keep them in. I wrote a review for the cigars on their site, and it was never posted. Beware of their private lables and their deeply discounted "specials". Having said that, I have ordered plenty of other cigars from them without incident."

Stole My Money

"Placed a 3 part order. Nothing I ordered was initially backordered. After a shipping "snafu" I cancelled the order. They disregarded my request, sent 2 items and backordered the 3rd item. This was two months ago. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!"

Scam

"Purchased a box of Griffins for $200 and they arrived as "box pressed"? When notified I received no response so contacted credit card company and refused payment. CI said for me to call and i have several times waiting over a half hour each time without speaking to anyone. Spent over $10,000 over the past 3 years! That's how to treat a loyal customer. I'll no longer use them."

Bad customer service

"I was a customer for 10 years. Purchase a box of cigar on 3/21/17 and notice that I did not got a receipt with item description and price paid. I call and got a bad customer service saying that they don't provide more receipts. Manager Krist was also rude and could not care less. Used to be a good company but went down the drain. "

Bunch of thieves

No more CI Smiley Face!

"I have been a CI customer for 10+ years (~$400 p/month) and will not order from them again. I placed an order on 24 Feb and 30 days later I have no cigars. I contacted customer Service and received an email asking for patience and stating a problem with their new automated shipping system. OK fine; now 21 days later, they no longer respond to emails and I have no way of tracking my $906 cigar order. My business is gone...there are other sites to order from."

"Ordered cigars on 2/14/2017, confirmation received. Credit card charged. After 2 weeks I tried to call and the line was always busy.

I sent an email and they responded with a boilerplate email about a new shipping facility being backed up. Waited another 2 weeks and still no phone contact. Same email response.

Complete Lack of Customer Service!

"I ordered a 5 pack of Oliva O cigars on February 13th of 2017. It is now March 18th and I have yet to receive my cigars! I've submitted more than 6 separate "order inquiries" asking for an explanation. I've received one response stating they are changing their shipping process and to please be patient...then they closed my inquiry! I still have not received any meaningful answer as to where my purchase is or why I haven't been refunded.
I've even gone so far as to call the 800 number from their site only to get a fast busy signal each and every time I've called. This place is a scam! Buyers beware...it is a roll of the dice when making a purchase. There is a 50/50 chance you will not receive your purchase...and if you don't...you will NOT receive any closure on the situation!
Stay away from this place. The savings aren't worth the headaches!

New computer systems meltdown

"I have been ordering from Cigars International for years and I have to reconsider where to buy cigars going forward.
Up until a month ago I would get an e-mail confirmation of the order that I placed and be able to track that order. Under normal circumstances I would see my cigar purchase at my front door within 5 days.
With the "new" system I have to wait 5 business days before they ship and I get people with a pissy attitude when I call and ask why.
FIX the system and get back to the level of customer satisfaction that I came to know. And stop making excuses for the "glitch" with the new system.
