I installed, set the system clock and was back in business in no time. HP wanted $475.00. I got this one from CompuVest for $176.00!

"On Dec. 24th I ordered a part for a Unibody MacBook Pro 17-inch. The price was what attracted me most. Cheaper than most resellers. The picture was correct and the description included the correct part number, even though it said MacBook Pro 17-inch Early 2008.

I received the product on Jan. 4th, but it was for the Early 2008 model, which is not the unibody model. Needless to say I was disappointed about receiving the wrong part. However, I received a RMA quickly and I should be getting a full refund, so at least CompuVest is great with customer service.

I will still buy from CompuVest when I can. Hopefully they will correct any other mismatches on their website to avoid more returns/exchanges."

"I ordered a Cisco router on a Monday morning before the next day delivery deadline as stated on their website. The hardware was needed ASAP to replace a failed unit and restore branch office connections. After several e-mails and a phone call, they finally placed the order....on TUESDAY! I did not receive the unit until Wednesday, although they are supposed to give me some credit back on the next day delivery charges. I was not a happy camper...

When we went to install the "new" router, we discovered it already had a configuration loaded onto it, not just the default Cisco setup. So it appears that it may have been a returned item.

"They're a supplier only. They sell various parts, but do intentionally not give any technical info on any of the parts they supply. I called to get some details on a particular part (trying to make sure I was buying the right part), and the person would basically only give me the info in the short description. No elaboration. You have to do your own research and make sure that you're buying the right part. If you order the wrong part it's your fault, not theirs; that's their angle.

The part I ordered was out of stock, and they quickly followed up with an email stating so and offered a similar replacement item.

They delivered quickly and had the best price I could find anywhere. Items were packaged nicely, arrived as expected, and were delivered timely."

"Watch yourself when dealing with Compuvest. Make sure you read every little detail about returns etc. Definitely don't buy something without thoroughly checking it over.

I'm getting screwed by them.

My wife bought me something for Christmas. It was classified as "New Retail (Open Box)", however, it was obviously used and parts were missing. When I opened it on Christmas day. A few days after Christmas, my wife tried to get an RMA and we are being denied for the following reasons:

1) We didn't notify them within 2 days of the problem (our "fault" because my wife didn't inspect everything or try it out)
2) They don't take back damaged items (for some reason they think we damaged it)
3) When we tried to request an RMA, it was past their allowable RMA request time (that's totally my wife's fault because she wanted to give it to me for Christmas not the first week of December).

I've tried to contact the RMA manager, but have yet to hear back. I guess that's how they can get out of receiving/ refunding products. Make us wait.

Just stick with the big companies that you can visit in person.
