"I ordered two Sharp LCD TVs advertised at a great price. A few days later I checked the status of my order and learned that my order had been cancelled. I called them on their 800 number to find out what the problem was and I was told that the TVs were out of stock and no longer available. They claimed that I was sent an email informing me that the order was cancelled but I didn't receive it...maybe their email to me was detected as spam and not delivered, I don't know? Just disappointed that they listed these TVs online as being available when they weren't, and that they accepted my order. They claimed that they attempted to fill my order from another supplier but were unable to do so at the price I bought them for, which sounds truthful. To their credit, my charge card was not billed for this transaction and they were pleasant to deal with on the phone when I called. Even though I was disappointed about the order being cancelled, I liked the ablity to contact them on an 800 number, and the person on the other end of the phone was pleasant to deal with. I was also pleased that they didn't charge my credit card so there are no money issues to deal with. I would attempt to make another purchase with them in the future if the price is right."

"DO NOT DO BUSINESS wit Compu-America – Buyer Beware! They scammed my company and admitted to it once we received the order. We purchased an HP Laserjet 1320N and moments prior to purchase (online) we called to VERIFY the product was available, that it was new and was 1320N (networkable) not 1320. They said they had plenty in stock (and reported as such on their website, even when they shipped us the wrong model and said they don't even carry the 1320N). I asked for an email confirmation, and they sent this to me. We then made the purchase online, immediately.
When the printer arrived, it was the 1320 not 1320N AND it was a refurb. Even the bill of laiding differed from the invoice. They knew what they were doing because they included a jetdirect unit (to make the 1320 somewhat networkable). I immediately called and was told it is common for them to shitp the 1320 and JD in lieu of the 1320N. They said our rep should have confirmed this with us.
We requested a return RMA and shipped the unit back. We were told it would take a couple of days to refund us (credit back to our card). It has now been over 2 weeks and no credit - we had to dispute the charge with our bank."
