"I ordered a printer that was listed as "In stock" and NEW on 7/7. I received an order conf immediately but no other communication until after I called a wk later and left a msg for their cust serv asking why my order was listed as "On Hold". The agent stated they needed the phone # off the back of my credit card, which I gave him. Another 1.5 wks pass and no news so I sent an email to their cust serv dept asking why they had not complied with their stated policy, “…will ship within 24 to 48 hours.” I received no response but did have my account billed a few days later on 7/26. I then received a shipping conf on 7/30, and the printer arrived 8/5. After the printer arrived it did appear to be New but the box had the Proof of Purchase removed and replaced with a photo-copied version. This probably means no Mail-in rebate for me which is the only reason I bought it. There was also a receipt showing CompuAm had bought this printer off ebay on 7/28 before shipping it to me. InStock?? HA!!"
"I ordered an expensive Xerox Phaser 5500N printer on Sept 19. Because I paid via check, I gave the company the benefit of a doubt about shipping the unit until the check cleared. A month passed before I realized I didn't have a tracking number for my order. I called & spoke with a CSR, who said that they expect to ship my unit that week. On Friday, I called again hoping to get a tracking number, but that CSR said they will be shipping it on Monday or Tuesday and I could call on Monday to get my tracking number.
So on Monday, I called and was informed by yet another CSR that "the unit allocated for my order" was sold to someone else & they're looking for another unit. When asked how long that will take, she said another week or so, and then another two weeks for shipping to me. I said I wanted to cancel my order and a refund of my money. She said she's not authorized to do that & put me on hold while she went to talk with her manager. Fifteen minutes later, I hung up and called again, asking for customer service to be told that all the CSRs had gone to lunch. That witch left me on hold while she went to lunch!
Short version of the story, after countless unanswered & unreturned phone calls to accounts payable and a check waiting on the CEO's desk for over four weeks, I finally got ahold of the AP lady & informed her that if they didn't mail my check that day, I would have my attorney file complaints of fraud with the Attorney General of the States of California & Texas (as they're in CA, I'm in TX). What do you know? She called back that afternoon & said they've mailed my check. I haven't received it yet, but today is Dec. 3. That is six weeks trying to get my money back. "
"Unfortunately I didn't take heed the warnings and attempted to purchase an IMAGING DRUM FOR COLOR LJ 2500 from this company. I ordered the product on June 3 and still haven't received any shipping information from Compu America nor have they responded to weekly emails requesting estimated shipping date. AN UPDATE: I received my order after a week. Now I have proof that these guys shipped refurbs knowingly while charging me for new ones. They left the packing slip on one of the boxes that clearly shows that they bought them from CompuVest (a retailer with whom I have never had any trouble). Full refurbs, every one. They bought the $220 refurb Laserjet P2015's (7 of them) and had them drop shipped directly to me after they charged me $290 each. The other 2 printers came from Computer Palace out of Dallas (never had any dealings with them)and were also drop shipped directly to me. I have the invoices to prove this.
The long and short of it is, apparently they just take your order, drag their feet until they can find a better deal than what you paid. If they can't fnd a better deal, they will ship you refurbs as new from another Internet retailer you could have bought directly from to begin with.

Beware this store. My first order was cancelled because they said I hadnt entered any payment information. No call from the vendor, I just logged in a few days later and discovered it. I called in to discuss this and was greeted by a very rude young lady who basically acted like I was stupid. When I called back to get a different rep, i was talked into re-placing the order (against my better judgment) For the next week I tried to get tracking numbers and was given fake numbers, excuses for not having tracking numbers and a general runaround. It is now a week later and I still havent received any printers. Basically these people are either incompetent or just dont care. Pay a little more and shop somewhere else."
"I ordered a HP C4781A, they had two a refurbished one and one that was not. I ordered the more expensive one that was not refurbished. I recieved a used unit. It was obvious, because I have bought this item before, it was missing the packing material, the orange/yellow peices of plastic that keeps things from moving. In addition, it was dirty and the cables were not in the plastic bags; moreover, you could see wear marks where the item went up against the mail bings. I called them, and the left me on hold for 40 minutes and then I got dial tone. I then sent them some email."

" Lenovo's thinkpad T43P was ordered here on May 13, 2006 and money were wired next day. The model was claimed to be in stock, but it was not and it was not available. Two weeks later, only after calling them, the order is set to "re-fund". The details form money transfer is provided. 10 days later - no refund. Called them and heard strange reason about the manager not being in the office lately.
