"The response time to an order is exceptionally slow, and items out of stock are not indicated on the website. I did receive a call indicating that the OEM CPU I ordered would not be available for over a week. The sales representative tried to get me to order the boxed CPU at a much less attractive price. He persisted even after I indicated I had already bought a heatsink/fan that I wanted to use. I don't have any evidence of anything like bait-and-switch tactics, but the sales pressure did not sit well with me."
"I believe Computer Brain employees intentionally lied to me and tried to overbill my credit card. Additionally, when I requested the order cancelled, they told me there was a restocking fee on the unshipped part because it had been already boxed.
I ordered a P4-2.26 GHz CPU for $182.94. A day later, they called me and said that the OEM part was out of stock but they had a "tray version" in stock which is the identical part, with a 1-year warranty for a $3 additional price. I eventually accepted this but the next day noticed that $20 additional, had been billed to my credit card. I called about the price discrepancy and argued with a sales rep who told me that the "tray version" was $20 extra. When I insisted on the $3 figure they had stated several times the previous day, he became frustrated and said "fine, I'll cancel the order" and hung up on me. I called back and requested a cancellation invoice, but have not received anything as of the next day.
This company does not have a toll free number and the fax number on their invoice did not work. There is no way to track your order other than by calling them and being put on hold for several minutes each time."
"After reading upon this company, I would have a hard time buying from them again. I did get a call from them because my billing address was nto the same as my shipping address. At that time, they did ask me if I wanted the warrantee. I went ahead and bought it because it was an OEM and had no implicit warranty, as do boxed version (which I had found out before they called from a tech friend). This cost me 15 bucks, but gives me a year to send it back, which sounds like a big mistake, in the long run. The AMD 1900+ is fine, however, and came to me relatively fast. They didn't Email me with a tracking number, but overall, no real big hitches. I do want to say the origin of the people who work there should not really be an issue as i have seen with multiple reviews of this company and others. I have noticed an accent, but have had little problems truly understanding anything the person on the other end of the phone has said. I think this is a subtle bit of racism on these reviewers parts and it is a typical response when frustrated with a situation. I have spoken to NewEgg employees, now, twice and both times, they were "of Arab descent" (misnomer) and had no trouble with them; neither have most of their reviewers, either."
"Tried to blame their incompetence on 'hackers'. Nice try."
"Had a Visiontek 4200 128MB listed as free: $0.00 with free shipping
Placed order and never received any email , other than the confirmation that my order had been processed at $0.00.
Another forum member informed me that after the order was placed that ComputerBrain Inc. changed their item pricing and their Store Policy.
The change in the policy was to make the customer liable for any change in price after the confirmed purchase price.
I never received an email from ComputerBrain informing of a price change , nor of a Store Policy change.
When I called to cancel the order and request an email confirmation that the order was cancelled, the Sales Manger Mohammed said 'don't worry about it, and refused to send me proof that my order was cancelled.
If the order shipped I would be liable for a $30 restocking fee.
ComputerBrain claimed that the web site was hacked and someone changed their item price on the video card.
Price mistake, free video card from a bankrupt manufacturer, or a hacked price....the company should have informed the customer.
Not covertly change the Store Policy to make the customer liable.
Ans when a customer requests proof of order cancellation two times, the Sales Manager shouldn't refuse to send order cancellation confirmation.
----------------
Occasionally an order may show an item with charge of '$0.00". This could either because of the discontinued item or typo error. In such case, representative of Computer Brain will contact the customer and inform him/her of the correct item charge. NO ITEMS WILL BE SENT FREE OF CHARGE. CUSTOMERS ARE LIABLE FOR THE ITEM CHARGES EVEN IF THE ORDER CONFIRMATION SHOWS THE ITEM CHARGE OF '$0.00". We will contact you and inform you of the correct item charge before your order is processed.

"Computer Brain is one of the stores that comprise the EconoPC network. The 24-48 hour processing time that they advertise on their web site is not true. After speaking with one of their sales reps, I was told that it takes 5 business days before your order is actually shipped. The order tracking system on their website is useless. You will never get a tracking number from them. After 9 days, I finally received my MB/CPU combo. It came in a Fed Ex box. MB was wrapped in bubble wrap and the CPU was in a sandwitch bag along with all the screws. I'm still laughing at how they packaged it. Do yourself a favor and buy from someone with good ratings. Newegg.com has excellent prices and phenominal customer service as well as on time delievery."
"Very dissapointed with this company,No tracking No email replys I called about my order never recieved an answer on the phone, Took my phone number did'nt hear from them they will not get my business ever again . I DONOT RECOMMEND ."
"Ordered Athlon 1.1 Ghz & 1.4 Ghz, called same day to verify & speed order. They hold my order 3 days to see whether I wanted cooling fans with the CPU's (You gotta be kidding, right)?!? They claim they left me a message regarding this(which they didn't). 3 days later, after the FIVE calls, I finally obtain the status of this order: NEITHER ITEM is in stock!
They are without a doubt, the biggest bunch of UNPROFESSIONAL BONEHEADS I've ever dealt
with.... Here's a suggestion: they should change their name to COMPUTERBRAINLESS!!

"Ok, let's see - I ordered a Motherboard - they charged my card - the end. Wait! You say, tell us all about the great board that you obviously put into your system. I'll tell you all about it when I order it from a company that charges your card AFTER they verify their stock, instead of BEFORE, like these 'jar-jar binks of the computer world'. (In my humble, humble opinion.) "
"I ordered an ASUS GeForce4 Ii4400, and it shipped same day. Its on its way. No hassles. Hopefully it is in working condition....
The product arrived very quickly (3 business days) with the worst shipping available. Product packaged nicely."
"I ordered an MSI Geforce4 Ti4600 from the company on May 7th. Shipping shows up 3 days later no problem. From the start the board acted funny, I had a Geforce2 Pro and it worked perfectly. The G4 board started to blue screen about a week after install and about 2 weeks after started to get funny designs on the screen. Afer troubleshooting it appears the board had a GPU problem. I called and sent the board back with all the info, they gave me an RMA number and this is where the problem started. Before Hanging up I asked if they needed anything else from me, they replied to just send the board and the return address with RMA on the outside and they will take care of the rest. I called a week later to follow-up, only to find out that the RMA number they gave me they really gave to someone else and never wrote my number down! It took them another 4 days to find the board after this, so we are now 11 days into the return and they are now saying they need all my invoice info send back the board to me!! I explained that they need get this from the there system, I sent them everything they asked for, but they hold tight. At this time I asked they send the original board that is bad back as MSI tech support said no problem send them the board.
Don't do business with these guys, there is something not right and they don't give straight answers! "
"Sincerely at the point of disgust with this company. Ordered a $300+ SuperMicro PIIIDRE motherboard, got it and the post codes referred me to 'replace mobo'. I sent the board back and have called several times to check on the RMA only to be told they have not recvd it yet (when UPS tracking shows quite the opposite). Quite simply, I was being lied to each LONG DISTANCE CALL by a lazy employee that essentially didnt want to look for the board. (every employee I spoke with is of Arab descent and is very hard to understand by the way)Once I spoke with a manager the board was miraculously found within 30 seconds. I was told that the board was tested and they found that it would work if they put 'special memory' in the board and that they could only send it back to me in its current condition, to which I replied I was using two known good sets of manufacturer recommended memory and that I wanted the board replaced. The manager said he would replace the board and send me tracking info which he has not done to date. I am currently awaiting to actually see if it is in fact a replacement or the same board. I will know beyond a doubt as I put several microscopic markings on the edge of the pcb to identify the original. I do not appreciate being lied to as much as they have already, therefore I will follow up once I get the 'replacement', IF I ever get it back.
Update: Got the package back, it was in fact a new mobo but packaged very poorly with all the old accessories and to top it off they left out the terminator card for the 2nd CPU slot! I would sincerely steer clear of these incompetents."
"I ordered from them on Wednesday, May 8th 2002, a MSI G4TI4600. I purchased the worst shipping possible. They, Computer Brain, shipped it out the day I ordered it! That was exceptionally fast. It arrived Monday Morning in perfect condition. It was wrapped, and included everything in perfect condition. I would order from them any time!"
