"Why does their Web site state that certain items are in stock and after you place an order, you get a partial shipment notice with an item on back order. This is followed by an email with suggested alternatives at higher prices..... ever hear of "Bait and switch"?????"

"My experience with Cops Plus based in Astoria, Queens NY has been nothing but excellent. The head guy over there at customer service, Antoine, is amazingly attentive, and will go out of his way to help you get the item you need. He is a gem. In my opinion, Cops Plus have one of the best customer services of any company. That alone would be good enough, but their prices are also very, very low. I personally have never experienced any delay with orders but then again they have always had what I needed in stock. I wish I had discovered them years ago as I could have saved a lot of money. "Customer service is top notch. I have ordered from Cops Plus many times over the last 5 years and never had an issue until my most recent order. The holster I ordered was just not functional, due to its design. I contacted customer service at the site and had quick and courteous responses throughout the return process. Couldn't be happier."

"Terrible company with poor communication. Ordered an item and waited a couple of days then contacted the company to check order status. Was told item was on backorder. I cancelled the order and eventually ended up ordering a different item from copsplus. Found a large number of bad reviews about the company and decided to cancel my order. I was told that I would not be charged for the item and that it was cancelled. Two days later I notice in my checking account that there was a partial charge from copsplus. I also received an email from them on the same day stating that they made a mistake and the item was shipped out even though I made two attempts (email and phone call) to cancel the order before it shipped and was told that it was cancelled before it shipped.
I contacted copsplus and the rep was rude but eventually told me that he would contact their "accounting" dept and have them issue a credit and that I would not be charged for the item. I also asked the rep why the item would be sent out approximately 31 hours after I had made a second attempt to cancel the order and he replied, "we can't help that. We are located in New York and our warehouse is located in Michigan". Later the next day, I'm going through my checking account and find that I was charged for the full price of the item, only hours after speaking with the customer service rep who told me that I would not be charged.

I have filed a complaint with the BBB and a charge dispute with my bank.

COMPLAINT UPDATE: I was issued a refund from cops plus. I would still never do business with the company again. A serious lack of communication on their part and poor customer service.

UPDATE 04/01/13: Looked at my bank account yesterday and discovered that copsplus removed $73.30 from my account without my permission for a second time and eventually refunded it. This company is completely crooked. STAY AWAY!

Update 8/5/13: I received 3 phone calls from Eion (not sure of the spelling) from cops plus within 2 hour span of time today. I returned his call and he requested that I change the wording of my update on 4/1/13. "

"Ordered a Speedloader pouch from CopsPlus. Backorder date kept changing (3 times) and finally ended up being over a month on backorder and still not shipped. Tried contacting C/S and got no response. Noone mans their "live chat".

Website looks like they have everything in stock and they rarely do. Stay away."

"I had ordered a KA-Bar Tanto point knife, I was hoping that it would be the plain edge but I got the serrated edge, I knew the plain edge had been discontinued so I am not able to get the plain edge, I am more than happy with what I had received. "FOund the items I wanted, placed the order and paid with credit card which was processed immediately, I received an e-mail confirming payment along with an order number and link to check the status of the order. When using the link said the order does not match anything in their records. A phone call to there customer service line 5 days later told me they were having issues with their order system but that the items had shipped the previous day. Another call to customer service a week later I found out that they had shipped the items from out of state to there office in New York State rather than to me. Was told that they cannot ship via UPS to Canada (even though I had paid for UPS) and they would have to send it out via regular post and I would get it sometime the following week. I had expected a 7 day delivery, the newest estimate means that it will take 3 weeks for the items to arrive from date of order (provided they do arrive as promised) $25 shipping for what is basically a gym bag and 2 accessories smaller than my hand..."
