Best price and free shipping was the internet seduction. Two days after the order confirmation and debiting my CC, an email said there would be a delay, no estimate of when. Many calls to non-existant "departments" where no one is available later, and FINALLY one reply to my email promising a "reply" in one business day, five days later with NONE, I filed a dispute report with my CC bank. Shudda looked here first to find the REAL reviews scattered among the fabricated ones with 5 stars. Yikes! My first scam in on-line ordering since its inception decades ago. Live and learn."
"Without any doubt this company is a SCAM. I ordered two items from them, they were out of stock (surprise, surprise), my emails weren't timely responded to. Finally got the items several emails (weeks) later. Then, a month later, my card was billed $29 even though there was NOTHING in the checkout process advising me that there were ANY entanglements to "FREE" shipping. How does $29 equate to FREE???
The fact that so many of these reviews reveal the same deceptive practice of not CLEARLY advising customers that "FREE" doesn't really mean "FREE" proves the scam. Honest people do NOT resort to such deceit.
Sent email disputing the charge to them. They have ignored it.

"Ordered a computer case from them, little slow on shipping but it did finally arrive, the problem began shortly afterwords when I received and email saying that I was automatically joining their "premier member" program and that the email itself represented a bill for $29 yearly subscription. I promptly emailed back and told them I didn't want nor at any time asked to be a part of any "premier member" program. A couple of days later I check my credit card statement and they charged me $9.99. I did not place any order with them other than the original one and it was paid in full.
Needless to say I won't be doing any further business with them and I would strongly advise staying far away from them. "

"Cost Captain has deceptive practices. They offer 'free' shipping but bury the actual terms in the invoice processing,i.e. the fine print. So you wind up paying for shipping after all unless you spend $29.99 or so to be a Premier member. I normally avoid places with such tactics like the Plague but they got by me. I could/may dispute the charge. They were also very lax about shipping and I had to email them to get action."

"I ordered FilemakerPro 12 academic version. If I had of read the reviews before I never would have ordered from them. I only order on-line using a credit card so the charge can be disputed. As it turned out I ordered on Sept. 10 and received it on Sept. 18. Good price and free shipping. I was pleased until I realized what the Free Shipping deal is.
I will pay the $9.99 shipping which is better than the $39.00 yearly recurring fee they would have automatically charged for the Premier Membership. Both my husband and I charge almost everything so may have taken me years to realize this charge.

"The item I bought was priced within range. I ordered it on 9/8, and received a message it shipped on 9/9. I picked the shipping option of USPS 3-5 days, and assumed it would arrive to my doorstep within 5 days (by 9/13.) However, instead, I received an email from UPS on 9/13 that they had received my package and it would be delivered late in the day on 9/16. So my 3-5 days turned out to be over 1 week. I am totally at a loss why CostCaptain had my USPS shipment sent to UPS for delivery. Totally not happy with the CostCaptain shipping process. "
