"I recently purchased an ASUS laptop from them and it arrived promptly.
Their list of ASUS extended warrantys is way out of date.
I'm currently having problems applying an extended warranty purchased thru them because it came without the necessary password. When I called them, they told me to contact ASUS and offered no help other than give me a useless phone no. I am finally in contact with ASUS customer service who has been trying to help me for the past 2 weeks now.
I hope they can solve the password problem and I will not have deal with sending it back to Erie for a refund.
Update 1/4/11- ASUS finally told me all I had to do was scratch off the gray to reveal the activation password. Which I did and successively registered the extended warranty.
1/19/11- Response to Cost Central question why only 2 star rating?
1. My initial try at ordering an extended warranty was about 2 weeks earlier than the final order.
2. When I initially placed the order, I selected a warranty from Cost Central's extensive list and asked them to confirm it was applicable to the laptop I just purchased from them. They put the order on hold. When I contacted them, they said they could not confirm it was applicable and gave me a ASUS phone no. to call.
3. I called the number and ASUS told me to contact the supplier, which did. Who said they would try contacting ASUS.
4. While waiting to hear back from Cost Central, I was able to contact ASUS myself and was given 2 choices.
5. ASUS also informed me that the initial warranty I was trying to order was no longer offered.
6. I called Cost Central to cancel my original order and placed a new order for the one.
7. I promptly recieved the warranty package, but could not activate it because of not knowing the password.
8. Thats when I called Cost Central for help and was told to contact ASUS and given another ASUS tele no. that did not work.
9. I contacted the same ASUS person again who finally figured out my problem.
In summary I had to solve the issues of which warranty to order and the password on my own. Cost Central was of no help, other than selling/delivering a product."
