Retail store purchases: always good to decent prices on items. Wines are spendy though. Some Costcos are more ghetto than others, but overall a good chain.

"First (and last) order from Costco.com. Order still isn't here ... it took them TEN DAYS to ship the order! They are claiming that shipping will take at least another six days.
To be fair, I have liked shopping the retail store, and will continue to do so. Their Kirkland brand food choices are consistently top quality. This low-rated review applies to dot-com only.
I did contact customer service about this order. My first email was simply ignored. They responded to my second message, but waited to do so until they could say it was shipped.
FOLLOWUP: Order received 16 days after purchase. Costco packaging was marginal at best; product was saved by sturdy manufacturer packaging. Product was received in excellent condition, and was precisely as ordered. Give them a "B" on order fulfillment, "D" on shipping."
"My wife and I are Costco "executive" members. We are fed up with the costco.ca online photo ordering site. We have spent hours putting together photo booklets and the layout and organization of the website is far inferior to other websites. Some of the problems we've encountered: costco.ca discontinued the layout for smaller size photo books without warning customers (like us!) who had already spent hours & hours creating the books; photo book size and photo book covers can only be selected at the beginning of the session which means you get stuck what you started with; photographs have unexpectedly shifted out of original position we have placed them in...we have NOTHING GOOD to say about the photo ordering website and do not recommend it.
On another order, my item was shipped and arrived in my city but was never shipped to my house. I called UPS to "track" the item and they first said they would ship it that day. After it didn't arrive I called back and they said it was sent back to it's origin! Does UPS not require a phone number on the shipping label?? Perhaps not only Costco's fault but certainly left another bad taste in my mouth and "strike two" against costco.ca online shopping!

"Wow, I am surprised to see so many negative reviews about Costco. I have been a member for 11 years and regularly shop in their stores and at costco.com. I buy everything from them, from clothes to food to furniture to electronics, and have never had a bad experience. The one time we had any issues was with an online furniture order, which took waaaay too long to arrive and, when it finally did, one of the items was damaged. But, as usual, Costo was extremely cooperative. They offered to either have someone sent to the house to fix the item (a recliner) or give us a discount. In the end we got a discount and managed to fix the chair ourselves. Costco has stood by every purchase we've ever made; we've even returned items a year after they were purchased. No other retailer that I know (other than LLBean) has such a liberal return policy."

"My 3rd online purchase with Costco. Bought (4) Michelin tires with their $70 off deal, all went ok. The only issue with ordering online is that it usually takes Costco or their supplier 3-5 business days to "fulfill" the order and THEN it will ship. That's my only issue, but otherwise great prices, an even better return policy and an honest business model. "
"Terrible experience! An associate at Costco promised a two-year warranty when we purchased our phones. When the phones began falling apart we brought them in to have them replaced and the manager claimed there was no such warranty. After filing a complaint with the BBB the company would not cooperate and would not honor the warranty that had been promised us. We are very dissatisfied with Costco and their claim to great customer service. I would not trust any warranty promises made by Costco."
"I recently ordered an expensive bedroom suit from Costco.com. I received the emails telling me it had shipped and shortly after I received a tracking number with a message saying that it would take about 4 weeks to arrive. I felt pretty good about things until my order didn't arrive and I couldn't get in touch with anybody to find out why.
My furniture arrived at the local warehouse about 2.5 to 3 weeks after placing the order which seemed reasonable. I was supposed to wait from a call for the warehouse to schedule delivery. 2 more weeks passed and no call. I called the warehouse who gave me Costco's customer service number and was put on hold then told that they had to research the issue with the warehouse. Apparently the dresser arrived damaged and was being replaced. They assured me that another one was on its way. It had now been 6 weeks since I placed the order. The second dresser also arrived damaged. They sent it back and I am now awaiting another one to arrive. It's now been over two headache-filled months since I placed the order. I will never get those two months back. I just hope that one day I actually get my furniture and that I like it and its in good condition. We'll see what happens if the third dresser arrives damaged...I may actually set the record for most messed up Costco.com experience. NEVER ORDER FROM THESE PEOPLE!!!
AN UPDATE: The furniture arrived finally but the chest was part of a different set. They told me they had corrected the order and were shipping out a new chest from the correct set. When it arrived at the local facility 2 weeks later, it was actually another dresser NOT a chest. They have placed another order for the correct chest to be shipped which will take another week or so. I placed this order on June 3rd...it has been almost 3 months and I still don't have what I ordered buy costco.com has my money. Awful!"
"I was out of the country so I couldn't return a camera in time for the 90 days. I was there the next day, 4 business hours after the 90 days was up. They refused to budge at all on the 90 days, the camera was like new. Wrote costco online, and the store manager as well. Expect them to have zero discretion if you have any issues."

"First of all I LOVE COSTCO very happy with most all things I get there .I ordered some sheets from Costco.com and was unhappy with them first of all NO where in the descripion did it say they were SATEEN I didn't want Sateen they wear sooo fast where you lay I emailed them telling them about not putting Sateen in the descripion and how BAD the bottom sheets are big and baggy no matter how high the matteress.Never heard from them & not changed.Then Costco wanted me to write about the sheets so I did and they have to review them well it was never put on line! so if it is NOT good they don't put it up..THATS NOT RIGHT"
