"I've had the worst experience with Cymax. It's my first time and last. Customer service was not being honest. I ordered a furniture piece on Aug 25, 2014. On their site it said will ship within 2-3 days. I waited a week and called them to find out the status. They said it would be shipped out in a day or 2. I've called them multiple times days later and received the same answer. Finally they told me on Sept. 11, we are sorry your order wasn't recognized and we will put in a new replacement order with expedited shipping. How was my order not recognized? $1200 was taken out of my account on Aug 26. They told me not to cancel and to just bare with them cause my new replacement order will be shipped in a few days with Expidited shipping. Since Sept 11, I've called at least 10 times and received the same answer again to just wait a few more days. My online acct. still says in progress. I finally canceled today October 1, 2014. Customer service was finally being honest today letting me know they are sorry and not sure when it will be shipped. They also said they DO NOT have expedited shipping so all the service reps I've spoken with before lied just to keep me from canceling. Now I have to wait up to 5 business days to get a cancel confirmation email. Then a few more business days to get my refund. Very dishonest company, I definitely do not recommend. Biggest waist of my time."
"I had a very bad experience from cymax. Their online product page was misleading. I got a product that was not similar to the product description and I realized this only after assembling this. When I contacted Cymax, they said I can not return an assembled product and they gave me a free advice to sell the product in local market. This is the worst customer experience I ever had."

"I am amazed that the ratings on Cymax are not ZERO. Back in June of 2014 I purchased an "entertainment unit" from Cymax. The unit was 72 inches in width. The dimensions from Cymax were only external and the manufactures were identical. It took over 2 1/2 hours to put it together. Wood glue was included and recommended in putting it together. Upon completion I realized that the 2 outside shelving areas were not wide enough to house any components. Each shelve was 16.75 inches in width. The bottom line was a so called Entertainment Unit was not engineered to contain standard commonly used av/stereo components. So I have 5 components that will not fit in this piece of crap. When customer service was contacted they would not accept any return and told me to sell it on EBAY to recoup some part of my loss. I sent Cymax over 25 examples of commonly used components all at least 17 inches in width. Even with this infoe they have refused to accept a return. Besides being on hold for hours NO ONE in the USA should buy ANYTHING from them "
"I AM SOOOO FRUSTRATED with Cymax. I have not received the table I ordered almost an entire month ago. Nothing has been resolved. I have not heard from anyone within the last few days. I have tried contacting Cymax a couple of times since I last spoke with a customer service rep. This is just totally unacceptable!!! How can they do business like this? When they realized the table hadn't been shipped, there should have been one go out immediately. Aaaarrrrgggghhh"

I was contacted by a friendly rep from Cymax who arranged to have the furniture returned and my account fully credited. It took them a while to get in touch with me, but when they did, the problem was quickly solved.

I purchased a set of furniture from cymax and received merchandise that was not as described. So far Cymax has not responded in resolving this issue.
I called cymax agent prior to making the purchase and they assured me that the items were made of wood. We have a newborn in the home with a special condition and so we cannot have composite board furniture in the home. We received furniture made of composite board.
When I contacted Cymax they sent me a stock email with charges for shipment and a restocking fee of over $500 offering no other recourse even though this was not our mistake but a misrepresentation of their product on their part.
I just want to have the furniture returned with a refund in full and with a prepaid shipping label."
"It's an update to my review back in September 2014. I received my refund promptly after my review here. It was a mis-communication between the store and the manufacture. Both of the nightstand and the bed were in fact have shipped from the manufacture. The email sent out was a mistake. Cymax has offered me a very generous discount to ship the products. However, I have put in an order with a different store, and didn't want to cancel the order. Even though I didn't take advantage of the offer, I thought it was a very good gesture from Cymax. And the customer service that I spoke to rather friendly. Therefore, I just want to finish my story that I have received my refund, and I still would probably do business with Cymax.
It is a nightmare dealing with Cymax. I have put in an order of a bed and a nightstand on 9/9 (tuesday). On 9/13 (Saturday), I received an email stated that the nightstand is discontinued, and Cymax will not be able to ship the nightstand to me. The email stated that if I need to cancel other item of the order, I have to log onto "my account" to do that. On 9/14 (sunday), I logged onto my account, and cancel the "bed" as it is no good when the nightstand is discontinued. I want and I ordered a set. Since Cymax can't fullfil the order, I requested to have the whole order to be cancelled. On 9/16 (Tuesday), I called the customer service and asked about my cancellation status. The customer service looked at my account and told me that I should have received the confirmation email within 3 business days as noone works on the weekend. He further stated that I shouldn't have any problem about the cancellation. On 9/18, I received an email stated that the bed has shipped. I called customer service again, and the guy told me that he didn't know why the shipping information is added to "my account" page, but my cancellation request is ignored. So, he told me that he would put in a "return request" for this item. This is such a headache dealing with Cymax. All I want is a full refund of $1,323 if you can't simply fulfill my order. I just don't want to buy a mismatch furniture, and I simply don't want to deal with Cymax any further. This is ridiculous as Cymax has no concept of customer service. "
