"After waiting a month for a delivery that they said would be 10 days, I got zero use out of it. The engine was full of metal shavings, which is the way it was sent from Dr Power. Tech support told me it was probably the battery because they are too small and sit around before they are installed. Their TECH SUPPORT told me that! They also expected me to do troubleshooting on a brand new, right out of the crate mower. Check the fuel lines, they said. They're probably kinked. Change the spark plug. Remove this and replace that. ON A BRAND NEW MOWER, they expected me to do a full on tune up. After they finally agreed that the problem was beyond their capabilities, they told me to load this big ol' mower into my Corolla and drive it over to the repair shop. I strongly deferred. The shop came and got it a month ago, and it's been sitting there ever since, waiting on the new engine that Dr Power swore would be shipped out within a day or two. BIG EXPENSIVE mistake buying from this untrustworthy company."
"This machine must of been designed by a 3rd grader .Plastic parts on throttle control ? Really ?Cheaply made .A small child has to check the oil because an aduls hands are to large to reach the oil stick .Nothing but trouble with this machine I want my money back ."
"I left a good review about a past order but now I tried to order a 42 inch mower attachment and was told I would have it in 7-11 business days. Didn't say anything about being out of stock. When the pending charge dropped form my card, I called about the order. I was given another date. Ended up calling then several more times and was given another date after checking with shipping department. Today I looked at their web site and the mower was in stock. I called again and was told it would ship out 10 days from now. I said I wanted to talk to someone who would could give me a firm date. Didn't happen. It would go a long way if they would just be honest and say something is on back order and they do not know when it might ship. "
"I got talked into a DRSP22 mower by a dealer just so I could keep up on the mowing while my Honda was waiting for parts... What a piece of junk.
Pull starter pawls broke in the first week. And several times therafater. I think I've replaced the start pawls 4 times in two years.
In year 2, she started spewing oil out of the valve gasket. So I called customer service only to find out that they "don't make replacement parts for valve gaskets" so I talked them into sending me a new engine. Only to find out that they've changed the crankshaft and my drive pulley and blade adapter don't fit on the new engine.
And FORGET about going to the local shop for replacement parts. Their proprietary engines require that you special order EVERYTHING. You can't even run down to the hardware store and get a freaking air filter... Nope gotta order it and wait. Just like I'm sitting here waiting for a new pulley that will fit my new engine after I wasted my time convincing them that the parts are not in fact interchangeable.
Not impressed with the product, not impressed with the company. Will never buy anything from DR again."
"Worst company I've ever dealt with. The hide disclosures on pg 4/5 of text. They promise items will ship within 2/3 days and a month later they say they don't have the parts for what you ordered. They'll go ahead and ship part of an order and then say you have to pay for return shipping when the core item the parts go with is still stuck at their factory. Most frustrating is when you call, the attitude is Oh Well - too bad.
Absolutely the worst customer service of any company I've ever dealt with. They really DO NOT GIVE A ^&*#$ IF YOU EVER GET YOUR ORDER."
"Took over 4 months from order date even though the web site stated ""ships 6-10 days. Called customer support multiple times since the website gives no status, even though the hold message says it will, to get updates, ETA changed every time, representatives clearly did not care about my frustration.
When the Chipper arrived no hardware kit or manual (except for 6 copies of the same Engine Manual). When I called it I was told the HW kit was back-ordered yet another 3 weeks, but was notified this.
Bottom line they take your money but do not care about their customer satisfaction, at all. "
"I received my product earlier that expected. Put in the oil/gas as required. Pulled the cord & it started the first time. I engaged the trim line, but would not work. No instructions on what to do, so I called tech support, told me what to do & it worked perfectly. Waited until the weather was perfect, so I tried it out & it worked great.
Liked how the machine would bring in the taller weeds & mulch it up. (be careful not to get tangled up in an old tree branch or a vine. It will try to grab it & mulch it up) The older one I had would go thru about 3 sets of trimmer cord, but the PRO only went thru half of it & never had to fill up the fuel tank."
"I ordered a field and brush mower on 07-13 and it said ships from 6 to 9 days. When I called the 1st time I was told it was running a week late. The next time I called I was told in the next 3 days. 3 days later I was told 8-26 would be my ship date. I could have shopped at a great company like Tractor supply and picked it up the same day. A big parent company like Generac should ring some necks at DR. This is the last time I deal with them and I will probably send it back before the 6 MO trial"
"The mower works great - when it runs. I bought this machine in April of 2020 and it has been in the shop longer than I have owned it. I had to make a warranty claim on the safety blade switch assembly and it only took DR 1 month to send me the part. DO NOT BUY, the advertising on the product I purchased, along with the warranty and customer service is borderline FRAUD."
"I ordered a chipper on 6/02/20 and was assured it would ship in 10 - 15 business days. After 4 weeks I tried to call customer support to inquire why product had not yet shipped. After being on hold for 1 hour, I hung up and called the sales dept. They answer on the first ring every time. They then told me it would ship on 7/10/20. As of 7/13/20 item still has not shipped. After another call to sales I was told new ship date would be 8/13/20. The product I had ordered went on sale with free shipping AFTER I had ordered it and the sale has since expired, and still no shipment. When I called "sales" again to cancel my order they informed that they cannot cancel orders. Only customer service may cancel an order. When i asked to speak to a manager I got "mistakenly" disconnected. 1 hour later and finally speaking with a manager they cancelled order without even trying to offer me the sale price or expedite shipping. Never Again will I purchase DR Power or Generac garbage!"
"Ordered brush cutter on 6/26/20 showing in stk to ship in 3 days. 1 wk later customer service said will ship 1-3 days then 3 days later it will ship for sure in 2 days. After 14 days of run around I was told they were not in stock and will not be available until 7/9/20 and will ship 1-3 days after that date. Today is 7/13/20 and it still hasn't shipped and tomorrow I will cancel order I will not be dealing with this company again. Tony Alfonse

"Shipped a month late, then it arrived in a deshoveled crate made of 1/2” plywood. Parts missing. Called the parts department to get the part. It’s on backorder for 4-1/2 months. Why’d they even ship it? Now what do I do? I can’t use it! "
"Had some issues with my Max 52. E mailed them. No response."
"Bought the Premier tow behind leaf and lawn vacuum about a year and half ago so I’ve had a chance to use it quite a bit and wring it out.
Here are the pluses:
Well designed catch cart and easy to dump. Probably the best one you’ll find. Doesn’t leak if assembled and used as the instructions say.
This machine will pick up just about anything wet or dry. Picking up any type of yard debris including all sizes of pine cones is no problem.
I got the optional 6” vac hose and hand held nozzle so I can clean out my shrubs and other nooks and crannies around my house. It picks up everything in its path including rocks! I throttle the engine back quite a bit when I’m working around the rocks so it only picks up the leaves and debris but leaves the rock in my scrub beds.
Here are the minus’s:
The engine is a Chinese look alike of a GX series Honda engine; almost. It starts and runs well but it’s much louder than a Honda. Parts are not exactly interchangeable with Honda. For example, the air filter is just a bit smaller than what goes into a GX160 or GX200 Honda engine. So if you want the exact fitting filter, you have to get it from DR. My local dealer doesn’t stock parts for this equipment because DR sells it to him for the same price as the customer. So you have to call DR on the phone because they don’t sell engine parts online. And you get to wait in the calling queue for a half hour. Then they charge you $14 for the filter plus almost $10 to ship it to you. So I paid almost $24 for a simple air filter. This is NOT “done right” DR.
Whether this engine lasts over the long haul remains to be seen. I’m not even sure you could replace it with a non-DR engine. I asked DR for the crankshaft specs and the guy I talked to didn’t seem to know except to say it is tapered and has no key-way. So I’m guessing it’s probably some weird proprietary measurement unlike anything Briggs & Stratton, Kohler or Honda makes.
The other issue is the 8” vac hose that connects to your mowing deck on your lawn tractor. The hose is CRAP! I used DR’s deck adapter on my lawn tractor and was careful to not turn too sharply and the hose still split. I called DR and they sent me a new one under warranty. That one split quickly too. This isn’t “done right” right either DR. So I went down to my local industrial hose retailer and bought a length of nice quality 8” vac hose which is holding up quite nicely and hasn’t split.
So all in all. I give this unit a “3”.

"I cranked on this poor excuse for an engine until exhausted. I removed the spark plug to see if it had any spark(it did), but noticed the plug was dry. It should have been wet from all of that cranking with the choke closed. It turned out to be throttle linkage that would not work. If the cable were placed in a position so that the choke closed, the engine would not stop. If the cable were adjusted so the engine would stop, it would not choke nor start cold. I called the DR tech., and that genius told me to check the spark plug gap. I started to send this junk back to them, but the $250. freight bill discouraged that idea. After three hours of building new throttle linkage, the mower works ok. Ten years ago this company sold good merchandise. This is the second piece of equipment I have bought in the last five years that will not work as shipped. I am no longer a DR customer. I do not recommend this company. The mower is junk, and the tech. support is non existent. "
