"Purchased May 30th, 2019. Received it the Thursday before Father's Day. Started it on Father's Day for the first time and within a couple of minutes the engine blew apart hitting my husband in the face. Took it to an authorized service guy who said the engine had not been built right. He ordered a new engine June 18th. It is now July 6th and when the service called them the new engine has not even been shipped yet."
"Ordered a replacement engine over 18 days ago and I have heard nothing. I cant get through to then either on email. Spoke to a Gal initially who said she would take care of everything and got nothing and never heard from her again. I am literally sitting on the phone right now after 25 minutes and I am still the 7th caller in Que.
If you buy one of their products you are on your own!

"I've never had more problems with company personnel in my life. I ordered $2500 worth of equipment over a month ago and still have not received all of what I've ordered.
You will never been on hold for a shorter period than 30 minutes
You will be extremely lucky if your order is correct after 3 tries
You will never receive a reply to an e-mail
I will NEVER buy from this company again. If you still would like to purchase a product from this organization, you better skip the warranty. You'll never get your issue resolved."
"Purchased several machines from DRPOWER over the years and decided to purchase another based on the quality of the equipment, customer service and support. This recent experience leaves me to wonder where the original company and their service went.
My order was placed via their website on 6/02/19 and according to their site all parts of the order except a minor part had been tagged on 6/04 and shipped yet UPS was waiting for the order to be sent to them. Subsequent checks for shipping status continued to display waiting for shipment to arrive at UPS. Finally, on 6/12 after a forty-five minute wait for customer service to answer, was informed that the shipment had not been shipped nor sent to UPS. Amazingly, the rep and supervisor could not determine where the shipment was in their system. Rather than face another delay while they locate the shipment I cancelled the order.
DR produces mass mailings and advertising everywhere as before but something has happened to the company in its overall sales and service. Perhaps too big, too corporate, but whatever the reason they have lost a customer. The purchase date on the form should show 06/02/19 rather than 06/02/20."
"“Customer Service” is an oxymoron here! Ordered a quick-change trimmer head online. Waited a week, got an email demanding serial number or they would cancel the order. Replied with serial number, 4 days later a reply stating they transferred machine to “new owner.” Machine was purchased from a dealer. The entered a new order number, in spite of numerous requests to cancel the original order. Waited hours on phone, customer service never answered. "
"Waited over 30 minutes to order a blade for a brush cutter that folded like paper. No after market blade for this model. "
"I purchased the DR Pro-60 a couple years ago and have had problems with it going thru belts and the engine has not ran correct since purchase. My local hardware store sells them but I found out later they do not service or give any tech help. The customer service line for ordering parts and getting answers my be good but who would know because they never pick up. Today I waited for 30+ minutes, gave my number for call back and no follow up. Very disappointed!"
"I just ordered a walk behind trimmer under the guise of no interest for a year. Our fiends a Synchrony Bank hit me for a $50 promo fee though. So, I guess I'm paying about 14% after all. I'm going to pay it because it's all I can do. I could return the unit on my $120. This will be the last time I use DR Products and I will try to avoid Synchrony as well."
"This leaf vac has a collection bag with a zipper for closure. Each time the bag is full you unzip, empty and zip closed. It's only common sense that you need a very sturdy, reliable zipper to stand up to this repeated open/close cycle. Well, that is the weak point of this machine and it is useless without the bag. I am about to order bag #3 in 3+ years. The bags are expensive $179 each. They are aware of this problem, which I guess is MY problem not theirs. They keep making $179 each year because of it. For a minimal price difference of $2-3 they could use a high quality brass zipper instead of the cheap plastic one, but I guess they would sell far fewer replacement bags that way. DR Service does not stand behind this product.
So as of April 23 here is an update. Its now been 2 weeks since I gave up and ordered my 3rd collection bag. I was told delivery in 5-8 business days. It is now 2 weeks [10 bus days]. I called DR Customer Service [by the way, they should put that in quotes for all the service I got]. 9AM call to Jody. Spent alot of time making sure all my info was correct but then told me she does not have access to shipping info for parts, thats in another warehouse. Great! I asked if I should call back in 30 min and she said 'Oh, no it will take more time than that and she would call me if she hears anything. We settled on an hour. So I call back at 10AM and get another rep. After spending time on my shipping address, name, phone # etc etc she told me that Jody was on another call and would get back to me. To her credit, Jody called back at 10:15AM but with bad news. She still could not obtain shipping verification from the warehouse, "They're very busy over there". When could I expect to hear? "Oh maybe sometime today". Since DR was bought by Generac things have gone to hell in a handbasket! Still waiting. I'll update later. Grrrr!
OK so here's the update 3 hours after my first call [12N]. Spoke with Samantha, the 'supervisor' who basically repeated the same story that the can only communicate w their PA wrehouse by email and it often takes 24 hours to get a reply. Who designed this system?? Should be called 'Customer Disservice'. No one can tell me if the part has been delayed or has shipped. Amazing!! And so it goes..."
"We bought a DR weed trimmer and had nothing but problems with it from the start. My husband spent more time trying to maintenance this thing than he did actually using it. During the rare times that it DID work, it worked great. I would not recommend purchasing one of these unless you are a mechanic and know how to work on engines and even then there's no guarantee you can keep one of these things running. We are very disappointed and basically have a $500 piece of junk. We are going to try taking it to a shop but based on other reviews, we don't have much hope they can revive it. DR, you should be ashamed of the inferior products that you sell!"
"I will NEVER EVER buy a DR product again. I purchased a chipper a year ago. The motor went out and it has been in the shop for over 3 months. The warranty on there products is a joke they do not stand behind it for anything. I have been in constant contact with DR during this process and nothing is happening. They blame it on Briggs and Stratton and that it has to go under there warranty. I get it, but DR is not helping me get this resolved. 3 months with out my chipper is to long DR does not step up to make the situation right or help. I ask for a time frame and all I get is we are waiting for a call from Briggs. Really. Pick up the dam phone and call. Or send me a new chipper. I just want a working chipper.
Questions feel free to call

"DR's mower failed within an hour of delivery and use - the metal completely cracked wide open. After a run around with their customer service department, they did provide a replacement mower. They did not take their defective mower when they delivered the new mower. Despite repeated requests, they have failed to pick up their defective mower for over 8 months. NOW they have turned us over to collections for the price of their defective mower that they failed to pick up, even though we have requested on multiple occasions that they pick up the mower. We have even attempted to deal directly with their freight company, who has also failed to respond. The original mower was fully paid for almost a year ago. Never buy from them; never trust them; unethical is almost high praise."
" I spent a lot of money on their Roto-Hog Tiller with the spreader and cultipacker attachment. I also purchased the extended warranty. While following their set-up instructions from the manual, the solenoid post broke. My machine has zero hours on it. I contacted customer service. Instead of focusing on solving my problem, the representative wanted to take away my warranty because I want to use the machine for my food plots at my hunting club. He tells me this is commercial work in spite of the fact that this work is to be for me personally. Not only did they not want to cover the part that broke out of the box, they did not want to cover anything in the future.
Their first response was to deny coverage now and in the future for an untried and untested product. This is not the sign of a quality company that makes quality products. A quality company would make sure that you can use their product and would stand by the quality of their product. This would be their focus. DR Power did not.
Since I only want to purchase high quality products from quality companies, I will not purchase another product from these people. I believe they are dishonest and have no intention of standing behind their product. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!! You will be disappointed if anything goes wrong. Find a quality company. Your money will be better spent elsewhere."
"Ordered a chipper on December 16 with an expectation of 3 day delivery (Wisconsin to Illinois). On the 17th, I made my first of several calls to see about the expected delivery.
Why would I call the day after I ordered? Because the order status did not update on their site.
On my third call, I was told that the delivery would be made on the 21st...as you might suspect, the chipper was not delivered. On my next call, I was told it would not deliver until January "sometime". Unhappy, I asked for the VP of Operations and was told that they did not know who this person was. I went to linkedin and found Mark Wiggins. I sent Mark an email via linkedin and have yet to hear back. So let me tell you about my experience.
Surprisingly, I took delivery of this product on December 28 and immediately filled with oil and gas along with some light assembly. Pulled the cord and after 2 pulls, it started up. I then went to the garage to put my tools away and heard the engine have a catastrophic failure (20 seconds tops).
I called support and was told to remove the pulley to see if the wheel was free (it was not) and to call back once it was complete. The determination was made that the engine was ceased and that I could reach out to a local repair shop (about 40 minutes from me) to have the engine opened up and diagnosed for cause (ie, did I or didn't I put oil in the machine).
At that point, I asked about returning the machine and was told that I would have to pay for the return freight. So, I called the repair shop (so they could look at my new machine that cost 900.00) and they told me to bring it in.
The guys at the shop were cool but as small engine repair shops go, their communication skills are poor. I called them every other day when they failed to follow up as they stated they would after every phone call and after about two weeks, I had my replacement engine available for me to drive out to pick up and for me to re-assemble. The pulleys don't line up even with the spacers installed though the machine runs. Why? Because the replacement engine is not the same engine that comes with the new machine! Hilarious, right!
The product does not chip 3" wood but it does do a nice job on smaller branches. The design could be improved for balance and transport. For $200.00, get the electric start as it can be difficult to restart after a jam.
This was a terrible experience and I have heard from no one. Order number was E0590250.

"Pilot was shipped to a local truck depot. The large box it came in looked like it came through a war zone. I was reluctant to accept it as damaged but did so because of my satisfaction with three other products I purchased from DR. No parts damaged or missing. Assembly was timely but quite easy for this 80 year old. It looks like it is designed and built well. Have not used it yet due to several inches of snow. Will use it for the first mow in the Spring."
