"After reading lots of negative feedback from people here and only few positive, I still went ahead and bougth Sennheiser RS180 headphones from dakmart. There was a glitch in the final "pay by credit card" process in the checkout as it errored out on some server error. I was worried they'd charge my card but they didn't and I doubt it recorded any CC information. It looks like they disabled CC payment option but not fully. Now one needs to use PayPal. I prefer that and I paid their PP invoice.
The item had arrived in 10 days (quickly, considering I live in Australia). The packaging could have been better (it was just bubble wrap in plastic bags but there was no any damage. There was no an original box. The phones looked refurbished, which was expected. What was supposed to be included with them was in there. The rechargeable batteries weren't even unpacked!
I had no any quality issue with them so far. Everything worked as it should. The only minor thing was one screw the repair man undid to get access to the insides of the transmitter was not screwed back in. Took me a second to fix that. Otherwise, what an awesome bargain! I had initially paid AU$349 for the basic model RS-160 in JBHiFi and then trawling thru the reviews found the dakmart, returned the purchase to JBHF and got the best model in the range for $US186.98+36.20 USPS postage."
"Purchased some headphones on 12/1 and they arrived very quick! The quality and pricing amazing! Spoke with a rep. by the name of Diana who was as sweet as can be :) Will def buy again!"
"It's sad when you haven't even dealt with a company before, and you are unsatisfied before you even receive it. I placed an order for a Refurb pair of Sennheiser HD228 headphones. They had a insanely good price on them, considering they go for more than twice the price on amazon new. I paid extra for expedited shipping. They shipped in about 1.5 days (their refurb description on amazon stated ships within a day).
Once tracking updated to where I could check it, I come to find out they shipped it first class. Since when does expedited shipping = first class, in anyone's book. Their amazon listing guaranteed shipping within a day, regardless of shipping method. To any rational person, expedited shipping would be an upgrade from first class to priority, or UPS ground, to 3-day.
I basically paid extra to wait 3 days for an item to ship from florida to florida. Moral of story, don't opt for the upgraded shipping option. You're only putting money in their pocket.
I will update my order when I receive the actual item. "
"I have no review for dakmart. "
"Unfortunately I did not research DakMart until after I sent my credit card information. I aced an order on April 2, 2011, and after no email notification for 2 days, I made 5 calls to them. Each call was met with an auto attendant, that no matter what option you pressed, you were disconnected. I sent 2 emails before I finally got a response, April 5,2011, letting me know my item purchased, though stating it was available online, was not available.
I attempted to make 2 more calls with the same result of disconnect, and was informed via email, they were having troubles with their phone lines.
I was offered a different model, at "The same price". I accepted only to find the shipping was double what I could ship the same item for from the location to mine. Their explanation was they said the same price meant the Total Cost including shipping. It was a decent deal, but I was reamer on the shipping.
Now for the bad part!
A few days after they shipped my unit, my credit card, that I used only 1 time, to purchase from DakMart, was hit with $23,433 worth of fraudulent charge attempts. $4300, to a company in The UAE, Clothing store in London, Shipping company in Italy. The list goes on and on. My PC, and Router weren't the issue as they are hidden behind several layers of protection, and no other information of mine has ever been used like this.
I sent DalMart an email explaining this to them, and to date, not a peep.
No matter how good the deal, stay as far away from these -----------(you fill in the blanks) as you can."
"After reading all of the harsh reviews of dakmart's service, quality control, return policy, and other shady business practices, I was understandably hesitant to place an order with them...
Nevertheless, the sweet siren-call of $170 refurb'd Sennheiser IE8 canalphones was too much for even a skeptic like myself to ignore. So I took the plunge... (after making sure they were an authorized dealer, and going through a few forums on headfi about someone who had received counterfeits from them a few months back)
I ordered my headphones via telephone so that I could use paypal as an extra layer of protection (still didn't trust them as I was ordering). I spoke to a cheery and helpful woman who wrote up an invoice for the headphones and got my email address. She assured me that the item would ship out by Wednesday. Minutes later I received a paypal request in my inbox.
For two days I kept my fingers crossed that they would ship on time. Wednesday morning 6am, I receive an email stating that my item had shipped and that I could track it by clicking on a link in the email... The link didn't work, but the tracking number did. So for the next two days I kept my fingers crossed that the items I receive will be the real deal, and not some crap from China (no offense). Friday noon-ish my headphones arrive in a plastic bag and everything looks legit. The only thing that was missing was the cleaner tool/bass adjuster(mini screwdriver). And I think I can buy one with the $200 dollars I saved on these.
Overall I'm extremely satisfied with my purchase, but I would only use them if they had a refurb deal that was too good to pass up (which they very well may have...)"
"You be the judge.
First I won an eBay auction from them and they contacted me to tell me that they had made a mistake and wouldn't honor the price. So much for the auction process being a binding contract. My complaints to eBay resulted in a warning from eBay to Dakmart.
Although I should have realized what kind of business I was dealing with and gone elsewhere, I was drawn like a moth to a flame by their prices and bought directly from their website. The receiver arrived okay but was slightly dented on the top. I called and inquired about this and they said that it must have happened in shipping and wasn't a warranty item, and that I would have to file a claim with the shipper. Since it was going into a cabinet I wasn't too worked up. But 45 day in the back right surround speaker output quit working and they are refusing to do anything about it.
I have disputed the charges with my credit card company and plan to contact Denon to let them know what a bunch of low lifes they are.......
DEAL WITH DAKMART AT YOUR OWN RISK ! ! ! "
"Seems as though your rating website isn't very good if you look at the reveiws there are probably 6 out of 348 that are bad. 6 month rating based on a whopping 6 reviews???? I guess noone comes to your site. It appears to be useless!!"
"They act rude like they don't need your business. So let's not give them any and send them into bankruptcy. Good bye Dakmart... Have fun scrounging for your next meal!"
"I looked at a Denon product in Dakmart site for about a week. Then I registered and I read carefully the terms and condition and privacy policy and even if they looked poor I decided to go on with the transation.
I ordered a Denon SYS-A2 for 170$ ship included and payd it. I didnt receive any update for a while. I wrote 4 times before an answer was received: It was a rough reply telling me no item available and that order was not processed. Today I checked and the item is still on sale in the site and my order still pending, not cancelled! Then I received a further e-mail telling they had shipping issues (!!)
With this "standard reply" not related to my order history I had the clear feeling that order was still open to have the chance to charge my credit card and then manage the claim.
Retinking to the terms and condition I has been also really worried about data privacy and "phishing" issues: therefore I blocked my credit card to avoid frauds and claimed DaKmart to cancel my personal data.
I behaved as a stupid and I suggest everybody to AVOID BIDDING WITH DAMARK: there is a fraud risk that range from "receiving a damaged item" to "have your credit card data stolen" .
I have the sensation to have just prevented a fraud. Apart from my personalsensations which can be right or wrong I wish to share with you the clear evidence that DAKMART is not able to make business online, has no control of his business operations and for sure suffers a seriuos lack in sales and communication skills.
My suggestion is: DO NOT BUY
"
"Order number submitted is my buy.com order number, my order was fulfilled by Dakmart.
Like mduvall below, I purchased a refurb Denon AVR-1910 from Dakmart. Received item DOA. Made NUMEROUS attempts to contact Dakmart via phone, no luck, everything goes to voice mail. Made the mistake of not researching seller before making purchase, paying for it now. These CRIMINALS charge a 20% restocking fee PLUS they deduct original shipping charges.
Let me get this straight...you send me a non-working item, I try to return it, you charge me over 25% of what I paid for an item to return it to you??? Stay away from these CRIMINALS at all cost!! "
"The best Clock Radio on the planet (Denon S-52) for less than half price."
"Yes I got suckered by them as well...b ought the avp a1 too which u all know is not cheap either! Stay away at all costs please!!!!!"
"AVOID AT ALL COST!! I order a refurbished Denon AVR-1910 from them in early April. After receiving and setting up the AVR it worked for maybe an hour and then just died on me. I contacted Dakmart and they explained I had to send the unit (on MY dime) to some outfit called Panurgy where they supposedly fix it. I got it back after four weeks and this time it worked for a couple of days and died on me again. Mind you, I have a lot of experience with electronics and knew how to reset the AVR, troubleshoot and trace problems. It was clearly a defective power circuit that they failed to repair correctly the first time. Anyway I sent the unit back (again on MY dime) and when I got it back about three weeks later it worked for about a couple of weeks with no problems until the video started getting what I would call 'sparkling and artifacts' when connected to my TV via HDMI. I again tried tracing the problem and it is definitely the AVR again and not any of the other components. To make matters worse the 90 day warranty is up so any more "repairs" I need I will have to pay for out of my pocket (plus shipping). Although Dakmart claims to extend the warranty to a full year, I suddenly cant get a response from them, as I would like to get a refund after being sold a clearly defective unit. I am to the point of giving up, as I don't have time or inclination to deal with these people anymore. Maybe thats their intention? I'll just check it off as a bad experience and never deal with them again. I thought I would do the courtesy of warning off any of you potential suckers...I mean customers from the aggravation that I went through. "
"I ordered a telephone (vtech-v2600)and it was defective. I called Dakmart and was told to return it for replacement. I mailed it at the Mission, Texas, Post Office on July 5, 2010, Priority Mail, 2nd day delivery at a cost of $8.10. Four or five days later I emailed Dakmart requesting a status report and received no answer. After several attempts without an answer I filed a dispute with eBay. They told eBay twice that they had not received the return. I then sent Dakmart a letter showing the PO receipt and stated I would ask the PO to do a trace. When they received the letter, they miraculously found the return and shipped a replacement.(20 days after I shipped the defective phone.) In the meantime, I needed the phone and purchased one from another vendor. Bottom line: I have a phone I do not need and am out the return shipping fee. Avoid doing business with this company when there are many other reliable vendors to purchase from. "
