"I started doing business with Dell back in 1998 and have purchased over 20 computers from them, financing or leasing about half of them. Never have been late paying and have excellent credit with a higher than average credit score. We are currently using 4 Dell computers in our business and I have 2 Dell laptops that are relatively new... all paid for. I wanted to purchase 3 new computers for a thriving business I am purchasing and even with a personal guarantee, Dell Financial Services would not grant me financing or leasing. It is ashamed that they would not consider how long I have done business with them, nor consider my credit worthiness, or past history, or the fact that I have established businesses for years on in in the same area. They simply let a machine tell them that I am too much of a risk because I am purchasing a business and have no credit experience on Dunn & Bradstreet with that one business. Bottom line... Dell is doing very well, they don't need my little bit of business and could care less about their valuable customers. So be it... I went right over to HP, got the same computers and pro support with excellent lease rate options. So long Dell... you lost another customer."
"I purchased a laptop using the 12 mo. interest free financing. Today I received an account statement increasing the final balance of $79.06 to $248.84. When I called I was told I was past due and the added amount was interest and fees. I was set up to have monthly payments automatically made from my checking account. I was told that the last payment was cancelled by me in July. I always payed more than required and always on time. Why would anyone cancel the 12 th payment and pay a years interest and fees???
This experience will be repeated whenever I hear the name DELL and in reviews like this at every opportunity. I will never purchase my children or grand-children another Dell product. I will discourage anyone's purchase of Dell products. There are too many good, honest and straight forward vendors to choose from.
The calculated underhanded action and indifference of customer service made this necessary."
"Dell Financial Services has the strangest credit limit policy I have ever heard of, such that it compelled me to write this review. I have talked to several different people (including supervisors) about Dell's policy regarding credit limit increases. Here is the bottom line -- whatever credit limit they give you when you apply for and get credit with them, the credit limit remains the same FOREVER. Dell does not increase credit limits. I find this ridiculous and it is a lousy business practice for its customers. Thus, I am writing this review. In addition, I get tired of talking to foreign accents. I have to ask for native English speaking people. I even called Web Bank which oversees Dell's credit cards and was told that Dell has its own policies regarding credit."
"dfsdirectsales.com is my computer, monitor, laptop store, selling business made computers, which work well for home use having lots of add ins to the OEM motherboard. They are excellent machines being 2-3 years from manufacturer original date. I brought a machines listed, Cosmetic A; it was brand new, when I inspected it from motherboard to case. They will refund your money, instead, of replacing a defective machine, cause, Dell Financial Service Direct Sales is built that way. Since 2009 I have purchased about 7 machines for family-friends. I research to upgrade my current computers, with larger HHD, Intel processors, currently I am running Duo Core 3.2,catch my drift! Still running with Windows 7 Utimate, 160GB HHD. Intel has been in the Processor business for years, Intel motherboard are the best, in a Dell computer, Dell, Inc. its subsidaries make-sell reliable laptops, desk-tops, monitors having con-current technology. They are easily upgraded, with same parts, or advanced parts. Example on most business made Dell Optiplex computers you can upgrade your Intel Processing speed from 2.0 Single Core to Dual Core up to 3.4 Mhz, on one computer, that motherboards are easily replaced should you need to, at 3rd party vendors have exclusive Dell parts and HHD's 120, 160GB or more, also memory sticks 1GB, 2GB pairs of DDR2 technology. I mean you don't have to buy brands that are un-familiar to you. Many brand computer name-sake sound good, but, after longevity they bate you with, putting out money for Tech help. Once you buy a Dell its yours, with plenty of replacement parts on-line. Regardless of the year make of your computer, Dell,Inc. has continuous drivers install and upgrade at dell.com support, under driver download. You can not beat that! I highly recommend dfsdirectsales.com. Up next for me is the 3rd Generation Intel Multi-Core Processors, i3, i5, i7 fast, multi-tasking processors, and 250, 500GB HHD, 4 to 16GB RAM or Memory, however, that for me is just something I want to experiment with, for now my Dell Optiplex 320 family 3.2 CPU computer, Optiplex 745 CPU 3.4, 760 Celeron D CPU 2.0 which I own is efficient. "Beware! the base prices (before discounts) listed on the website swing up dramatically 25-40% depending on the weekly discounts offered. The customer service is VERY hard to reach and once you do, there are no resolutions offered.
Many Laptops are shipped with wrong power adapters and the desktop must be thoroughly checked b/c the components on the website description often is not what you actually get.
Problem resolution process is OK, but painful. You have to fill out escalations form, wait for approval etc. Then they will offer you a partial refund (small) or an option to return. You have to fight REALLY hard in order to be refunded for a $50 shipping fee (cost to return a 60lb workstation).
systems are good and occasionally you get a good price, if you get lucky.
the overall process is painful and will leave you with a very sour taste in your mouth if you have to resolve any problems."
"I'm surprised to see no reviews here. Dell Financial is owned by Dell computer maker; it's the corporate leasing arm of Dell. Its been leasing and selling refurbished off lease Dell computers for several years. I know them through their online store at eBay. I've been buying through Dell Financial for about five years. So far, no complaints.
Most recently I bought an off-lease refurbished Dell Latitude D630 laptop. It arrived within a week. For $217 I got a corporate quality off lease dual core, 2GB Latitude D630 that was in outstanding cosmetic and working condition. As with every laptop I've purchased from Dell Financial, I got a completely clear reinstall of Windows and no crapware. I got a new power cord\charger. For those who are not aware of this, corporate class computers are significantly higher quality build that are those made for the consumer market. Dell consumer market laptops have dropped in quality the past three years but Dell's corporate market laptops remain outstanding.
I received my off-lease laptop in under a week even with free shipping. I live in Michigan. It shipped FedEx from Nashville.
I recommend Dell Financial."
