I placed an order 10 days prior to Mother's Day, but I knew the chance of getting the items in time was probably only 50/50 because there were two weekends in those 10 days. Distinctive Decor's website did indicate that most orders ship within one business day so I was still hopeful it would all work out.

Six days after placing the order, I still hadn't received a shipping notification so I emailed asking for an order status. I received a prompt reply saying they were waiting for a shipment to arrive before they could send my package.

I then asked when the shipment was expected to arrive and was told that it would be about two weeks. This is my biggest complaint -- if they knew my order was effectively back ordered for over two weeks, why not provide me a status update proactively? They knew there was a significant delay in my order but waited for me to contact them before saying anything.

The rest of the process was more satisfactory. They agreed to swap out the back ordered item with an in stock item and shipped the entire package the next day. The items didn't arrive in time for Mother's Day but were only one day late. Not to belabor the point, but had the vendor notified me of the back order in a timely manner, I could have swapped out the back ordered item for the in stock item and still received the whole order in time for Mother's Day.

I think this vendor has the potential to be a very good one, but they should work on proactively providing status updates - especially in cases of back orders.

It did take a few days for them to ship it out after I had placed the order, which ultimately caused it to come a day after the event I needed it for. However, it was not a big deal and I was received the day they said I would. I would definitely purchase from them again but just make sure to order it well enough in advance."

I bought the salad plates which are big enough we use them for our dinner plates. The colors honey butter and pumpkin are fabulous. "AWFUL!!!! Placed an order SEVERAL months ago. Have had to repeatedly contact to find out about the whereabouts of this order. I am always told, "ooooh, we're expecting a shipment next week and we will send it then." Three weeks later, with no communication and no delivery, I contact them.
