But they could easily be much better. Their website search tool does not work well; Google works better. Their system of categories and subcategories does not work well. The items do not have descriptive titles. So, it is easy to use Google to find a good buy at Drillspot, but very hard to browse around at Drillspot to find out if there are other better choices, or to find out if they have other things you might want!

I needed some screws. They had what I wanted for just a few dollars for a hundred screws, with free shipping. (If your local hardware store doesn't have what you need, this is the best deal anywhere except for Small Parts at Amazon, but that requires a $25 minimum order for free shipping.) I felt guilty just getting the one item, so I also ordered some other screws while I was at it. The total order was $6.50. They sent the order very fast, and I had everything in just a few days, which is fantastic for free shipping.

However, the email communication was kind of confused, unclear. It was exciting to get my package so fast, but one item was missing, on backorder, with no information provided. No emails, nothing online in the order status. They did reply to my email promptly, and the missing item did arrive the next day -- but I should not have been left in the dark about what was happening.

Also, the order fulfillment was by Grainger. The name "Drillspot" hardly showed up anywhere -- and as the buyer, not the seller! No problem for me, but if such a package went to a big company, it could get very confusing to route the package properly and deal with the paperwork! Also, if there was a warranty issue, this paperwork could be a serious problem.

They sent me two UPS Ground packages, one from NJ and one from SC. I got very good service on the whole, but it seems like they spent more on the shipping than I paid them -- how are they making any money? Just hoping we will all fall wildly in love with them and place bigger orders?"
