"Have to say that it's been all pretty good so far!
I've spent about £1000 with Ebuyer so far (actually only two orders) and there isn't anything that I could complain about.
Admittedly, I haven't had to return anything, but I have had occasion to phone their customer services, and they were pretty helpful and efficient.
The customer interface on their website is particularly useful (other retailers - take note!) in making the progress of each order extremely transparent, right through to tracking your goods via the courier.
Has to be said that this aspect of their service is unparalleled among any of the (many) other online retailers I've used.
They have a good range of gear and a decent sized order (like a whole PC in component form) from Ebuyer is likely going to be cheaper than virtually any of the other big companies, in my experience.
Especially with the free carriage."
"My order with ebuyer came to over £1000 and at the end of it I felt really angry. I feel this company is constantly being let down by their couriers, but having said that its ebuyers fault for still using City Link, they are next to useless. I won’t be using them again. I have since used Lambda-Tek and could not believe the difference in service, they were amazing I can’t recommend them enough."
"bought components to put together a new computer, flashed the bios 2 weeks after purchase and killed the motherboard - no problem replacing it, picked up next day and replaced a few days later."
"I just ordered 3 x laptop rests from Ebuyer. Why 3? Because the price was less than half that of the obvious high street stores. The buying experience was simple and I used PayPal checkout to place the order, which made it even more simple. Now that I am aware of Ebuyer I am sure that I will be using them rather than shopping at the High St robbers. I had no problems ordering my laptop rests and I was informed via email as soon as they had been dispatched with a delivery date too. Ebuyer has some amazingly good prices. Check them out before you buy from anywhere else."
"Purchased Canon camera.
The camera, Canon A620, was obviously second hand! It had been used to take over 300 photos before dispatch to me! The first image number was 103-354. The menu settings were personalised and not default. The case was scratched beneath the lens. The camera was supplied with an unused Canon 32MB SD card but the card socket also contained a SanDisk 64MB SD card with 3 shots taken at 12.24 on 27 May 2007. The wrist strap was already fitted. The sticker on the battery side of a new cameras was missing. The Canon box was damaged. I find it hard to believe that their staff noticed none of this.
In spite of all this it worked fine and eventually I got them to refund 50% but I would be wary of future purchases.

"purchased a lowrance iway 100m. the cd was defective. eBuyer.com would not replace it with a working mapcreate 6.3 for my gps. had to call paypal and discover card to reverse my charges, but they were no help either. lowrance finally helped me by 1) warning me to stay away from etailers like eBuyer.com, and 2)they sent me a "real cd" mapcreate for my gps.
so cheers to lowrance, and jeers to eBuyer.com.
WARNING: STAY AWAY FROM eBuyer.com!"
"Due to start university in September of last year, I decided it was time to get a new PC as I am doing a computer based course. I found that Ebuyer were very good price-wise so I placed an order for all of my computer parts to make my own PC. The order process was all fine that was until the day my stuff was due to arrive. Turned out that everything apart from the monitor, HDD and case was not available despite saying it was in stock on the website. Also they didn't care to tell me about this problem until the City Link guy turned up with a minority of my goods.
Now I know that they have cheap prices because they put no care into the process of dealing with the order once they have your money.
I was very unimpressed and I doubt that I would place an order with them again.
Sometimes it's better to pay a little bit extra and recieve a bit of customer satisfaction."
"I ordered a new keyboard, a new tower, an ASUS P4P800-X socket 478 motherboard, a 80Gb SATA HD and a GRFX card cooler.
It all arrived, later that day i realised that they had sent me the wrong motherboard, it was a socket 775 not a 478. I called them and they insisted that i applied for an RMA number online. So i did that, and saw that the return address was in Howden, about 10 miles from me.
I called them again and told them that im only from near by them so i would come and drop it off and sort out the problem. They told me for security nobody is allowed on site, when i suggested meeting me offsite, they just laughed at me.
After re-iterating the importance of the situation i was left with no option but to arrange a date for them to pick up the motherboard which is the following day).
I asked them to bring the correct item when they pick it up, but chances are they wont, they will waste more of my time by taking it back to the warehouse, then finally sending the item.
I checked the website and the motherboard is out of stock :( so where the hell does that put me ??
Very Very bad business, i advise you to steer well clear of these guys, ebuyer really sucks, no idea of customer services. Im very angry :(
UPDATE - Yeah so they didnt pick up the motherboard today, despite the arranged pick up date, this is the start of a nightmare :("
"Great prices, hopelessly unreliable. I ordered with "Express Overnight Delivery" because I'm on a schedule. Two days later I still have not received my purchases. They don't bother to let you know there's a problem until you call them and an apathetic telephonist says "There was a problem with the system."
There most certainly is a problem with the system."
"In the TOP 5 worst companies I've ever dealt with!
Ordered some memory from them which arrived D.O.A, returned it (using my time and money).
They agreed it was dead and said they'd send out a new item.
This was sent by untraceable Royal Mail, so it promptly disapeared without a trace. I called them to be told that they wouldn't do anything for 14 days!!!!!!
Why am I paying for a courier delivery in the first place, and then after their item is faulty, being held to the mercy of the worst delivery system in the country!
The worst thing was the attitude of the call centre supervisor, to sum up his atitude the frase "tuff **** now go away" would cover it.
THE WORST INTERNET COMPANY I'VE DEALT WITH!!!!!"
"They shipped me an EMPTY SHIPPING BOX. When I contacted them, they refused to ship me my MP3 player or to refund me! Unbelievable. I tried reversing the charges with my credit card company, but eBuyer (via Paypal) charged my card again!
I'm now stuck paying $319 (for an empty box!) because I can't dispute the same charge twice with my credit card company.
What a scam. Stay away from ebuyer!"
"I purchased a Tekkeon Bluetooth Headset from this store. The headset does not fit my ear properly and the sound quality was terrible. I contacted the company to request a RMA# for a refund or exchange. After a couple of days they sent me an email stating that my request was 'Declined'. This headset is completely useless and now I'm out $80! I personally would not recommend this online store."
"EBUYER BEWARE - HAVING SPENT A FEW THOUSAND WITH THIS COMPANY WHEN YOU HAVE A PROBLEM YOU WILL TEAR YOUR HAIR OUT TRYING TO GET IT SORTED, CUSTOMER SERVICE IS AWFUL, THINK TWICE AND READ OTHER FORUMS BEFORE ORDERING !!!!"
"WORST customer service experience so far!!! I am really discouraged about their store policies on assuring reliability of their products and keeping customers happy. They meet none of them. They would not agree or reimburse for a damaged product from their warehouse.... WATCH OUT FOLKS !!!"
"I have not had any major problems with Ebuyer except for City link poking a hole through a package once. Fortunately they item was undamaged.
They don't package things as well as other retailers i've used, and i've been pleasantly surprised that the items have arrived in good condition each time! :-s
Prices are very competetive, and speed of delievery ok. Order tracking is not the greatest, as is often the case with city link. It's fine once the order is half way to you, but the consignmeny number always shows up as non-existent for about 24 hours from when the item is dispatched.
I've not had the misfortune to need to return anything.
As with all stores that compete on price rather than service, there is a small element of risk involved. You just hope you won't need after-sales service."
