"Worst online shopping experience ever. I purchased a Motorola Bluetooth HS850 headset, the item arrived appeared to be used, the Motorola logo on the headset is missing and the unit's box is damaged. I went ahead paired the headset with my phone and it is a defective unit. I contacted ebuyer for RMA, since it's a DOA, but they kicked me straight to the manufacturer. I contacted manufacturer and they told me the headset is actually made for Asian market and should not be sold in the US market. It was a bad experience with this online retailer. I should of check their ratings before I made the purchase. No wonder they had such low ratings. STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!!"
"Excellent price and fast service. I ordered a Shure e3c earphone on 12/1; item was shipped on 12/2; I received item on 12/6 by UPS ground. Paid $5.34 for shipping. Item was brand new as stated. Based on others feedback, eBuyer has mixed results. I received the right item and didn't have to deal with customer service. Surprisingly, this item from eBuyer was listed on PriceScan, but not on PriceGrabber."
"Have placed large computer-related office supply orders at EBUYER twice, one year apart. (printer cartridges, flash memory).
I would conclude from my own experiences thus far, that dealing with EBUYER is a crap shoot - and your odds are 50/50 of having an efficient on-line shopping experience with no human assistance, vs. a problem with your order followed by a very bad customer service experience. Interestingly, ratings of EBUYER here reflect this same disparity.
For this reason, I would never recommend that folks shop here. One would have to provide too many CAVEATS wtih the recommendation! Certainly, you'd never do your Holiday Shopping here. Pity the soul trying to return a gift!
Yes, you can save money here. But you must measure risk of things going horribly wrong and not having any customer support from EBUYER vs. reward of HUGE savings when things go right.
NO RETURNS POLICY on many items. Check the policy on your item. At best, there's a 20% restocking fee. Often, simply NO RETURNS accepted. If product has defect out-of-box, you have to deal with manufacturer, or accept loss.
They charge your credit card prior to shipping and prior to knowing if there is actual stock.
The website is not current on stock information and in this way can be misleading. Delays of your shipment occur due to this problem too.
I was sent the wrong items and forced to take part in their cumbersome and painful returns process - just an awful experience for anyone.
Extra charges were made to my card without any communication to me (for shipping). And, that was for shipping items that weren't in stock, nor would ever be in stock.
Refused to credit my account when sent me wrong items and they knew they actually would never have the items I paid for in stock. I was forced to wait for them to re-stock the wrong item they sent me before I would receive a credit for EBUYER's mistake.
Extremely poor communication. No courtesy e-mails are ever sent. If you want to know what's going on you have to be very proactive. They do NOT notify you regarding out of stock problems or shipping delays.
You must follow difficult and cumbersome protocol on-line, and read/research many pages on information to self-service your EBUYER problems. "Customer service", when reached, refer you back to the website, where you must suffer through pages and pages of stuff to figure out how to resolve a problem.
Shipping charges are exhorbitant. They charge shipping per item. Lots of differnt items (even if light weight) = HUGE shipping charges.
Use EBUYER for single items with big savings, or for multiple units of single items, and only for items you are very familiar with, and know you will not need to return.
Good luck to you in your gambles with EBUYER. With some effort & persistence, you just might get lucky! "
"Invoice was for a iOmega 250GB External HDD, but item shipped was a playstation 2 starwars DVD. Request to send the correct item was refused, was asked to reorder the item again. When asked about the policy which covers incorrect shipment, there was none and was told it was standard policy, which was whatever the CSR found it convenient on each of the 2 separate calls made. Now the CC has a block in the amount of the purchase and dont get my credit back until the return shipping is mailed and ebuyer gets back the merchandise. A very bad shopping experience, wish they had cancelled the whole order if there was a mistake, they had 5 business days to correct it.
Will not do business again as any creditable business will atleast take time to explain to the customer the terms or honor the right order, but they were simply indifferent."
"I purchased a Belkin FM transmitter from this store. I got the product as expected and they have good prompt service."
"Ordered Gotcha Force Gamecube and received these two jumpstart 2nd grade english for kids. They screwed up my order and now they want me to correct their mistake for them. Ebuyer wants me to send the software back to them and insist that I enjoy going through the hassle. I do not drive and I have to ship this back UPS. UPS is one mile away and who the hell would want to walk a mile with this box. Do not shop at their site. Terrible customer service and poor item order accuracy. I will never shop at this site again and I will warn all my friends about this site. How do you screw up an order when there's no similarities between gamecube game and 2nd grade jumpstart english software?
Only order from this site if you like receiving mail and going through the hassle of returning the items back to them. Call them, retrieve RMA number, wait, go UPS, send package, pat yourself on back, and thank ebuyer for the trouble.
This is what I found out:
Here's the deal I figured out after calling them. Apparently, what happened is that some items got crossed in their database with the same item number. The phone agent didn't explain it well but that's the gist of it.
My interpretation was that at some point they had Gotcha Force but sold out some time ago, then more recently another item got put in (the Jump Start software) with the same item number. But the info for the old item wasn't completely cleared out, so that's the mix up.
That explanation doesn't make a lot of sense to me. I don't see why an item number would ever need to be used for two different things -- each item should always be unique.

"Great experience. Package arrived on time without any problems. "
"No hassles. Real easy to do business with. I just placed the order got an e-mail confirmation and item arrived several days ahead of when they said."
"Ordered Monday night a Palm Z22 PDA. Arrived with normal shipping on Wednesday. THIS IS DURING CHRISTMAS heavy shipping period. Amazing!!
Unquestionably pleased with service. Bought printer supplies previously without any complaint."
"I order the True Power 2.0 430 on 11/28/2005 at 2:30PM. They did not tell me much about my order until I received an email at 5:35AM on 11/30/05 telling me my order has shipped and included a tracking number. I picked it up at the garage a little before noon on 11/30/2005. It looks like it shipped out of Tech Data in NJ ground so I got it next day for minimal shipping charges. Their web tracking is lacking so I didn't know that status until the email arriced but otherwise I would have to say I am satisfied with them. They definately can improve their online tracking like Newegg and ZipZoomFly have but the product did make it here fast so I can't fault them very much. I am pleased and will try them again."
"I know others aren't happy with them, my experience was good. Ordered a Griffin iTrip Mini for the iPod mini for nine bucks, paid twenty for overnight shipping. The company drop-shipped it from somewhere else, it got here on time. No fuss. Ordered online, got my item in the mail the next day."
"Went through entire order process, only to find out product was out of stock. This info was not updated at order time, but rather after I paid. I cancelled the order immediately via their overly-difficult website and sent 2 emails to verify this. I have not received a response yet, 6 days after the fact. Good prices do not make up for pathetic customer service and poor web design."
"I would highly recommend Ebuyer. The product prices were some of the best I could find, the shipping was extremely reasonable and the service was excellent!
I purchased a Gmini 402 and a protective case for it. Both were great prices. I had ordered late on a Wed night and the package arrived on Friday with standard shipping. There were airpac packing materials that protected the items and there wasn't any damage, even to the product box. I was amazed at the prices and figured the shipping would be a bit slow, but I had time so I went for it. To my surprise it arrived early and I even had to make up a lie to my boyfriend for whom the gift is for and tell him it's something my brother in law had me order for my sister for Christmas :) Thanks for a great buy and wonderful service Ebuyer!"
"Caveat Emptor! Ebuyer.com might have excellent prices and service when you buy but if you need to return something or actually speak to someone who is helpful, RUN FAST. Their system of Enotes (emails) can be answered within 3 days. If you call Customer
(dis)Service, beware. I spoke to a person who was so rude and just kept repeating the tired line he was trained to give people who are steaming and frustrated. I advise that you pay a small amount more for a company that actually cares about you after the purchase. Only after putting the purchase into dispute with American Express and then threatening to write to the BBB of Arizonaand leaving a voice mail for the president of the company, did it seems to get them moving. They also have a hefty restocking fee if they apply it to your return. Check other review sites to see that they are a good company after the sale. I would NEVER buy from Ebuyer.com again. "
"HORRIBLE RETURN POLICY. Uncooperative Customer Service. Response time from them sucks. DO NOT BUY FROM EBUYER.COM"
