"I am only writing this in reaction to the almost universally negative comments posted here (if I had bothered to check this site first, I doubt I would have placed my order). I purchased a 120GB Seagate “white labeled OEM” HD for $107 (a very good deal for a Seagate). Their site didn’t show my order had been shipped so I called. Phone call was answered promptly and I was informed order had shipped. Drive arrived 2 days later and was as advertised. It is definitely a Seagate drive but there is no labeling to indicate the manufacturer. It works fine."
"I received a sales call about 2 days after placing my order trying to upgrade the order and shipping method since the "uninsured" method might be too dangerous. I said, "no thanks, leave it as is". The caller then tried to force me into upgrading the order again by offering me an extended coverage/replacement type deal (I couldn't really understand due to the extremely poor English he was using). I said, "no thanks, leave it as is". The caller then said, "Ok, well I'll just need to send you a copy of our liability form that you must fill out and return stating that we will not be held responsible for damages occurring due to shipping. You can email, fax, or send this back to us in the mail." I said, "ok, I think..". He said, "good day to you". 5 days later, not liability form, no shipment. At least they cancelled my order quickly. The best prices on Pricewatch is their lure, don't fall for it like I did. They don't follow through in the least."
"i bought a barebones kit from here almost a year ago because they had the best prices around for what i wanted. i bought the kit just after my parents bought a new dell, and mine shipped in less time than the dell. i have absolutely no complaints about EconoPC."
"This company has called me on every order to upgrade the shipping terms. I called them on the 6th after I placed my last order and asked kindly that they do no call me to attempt to upgrade the shipping terms for more cash. I begged and pleeded with them to just ship my order and dont hold it for 2 days then call me to upgrade the shipping charges as they always done in the past. Sure and behold this morning the 8th, 48 hours after the order was places. An order that should already be on my doorstep. I recieved a phone call to upgrade the shipping charges. I do not recommend this company to anyone. Changing the shipping terms is another way to bait and switch. They will get you because they have cheap prices; but at the same time they screw people over with the time you have to wait for the product to be shipped & instead of recieving your product you will recieve a phone call stating that they want to upgrade your shipping rate."
"Company refuses to ship to alternate address, EXCEPT billing address. Also keeps calling back to try to "upsell" more stuff without actually placing order. IE "Extended Warrenty", calls back next day to say that order is out of stock, would I like to upgrade for more money. Apparently they didnt notice it the night before when they called. Bad Customer services, not impressed."
"SHOP ELSEWHERE!!! These people have a scam going. These people do not respond to customers, send imcoplete and non-functional orders. I ordered bare bones system, they sent me a burnt CPU!! This after charging me $40 more than expected. I urge anyone and everyone write their local Better Business Bereau and see if something cant be done about these people. In an economy like this we dont need people like ECONOPC taking our money! Worst of all these people have the nerve to threaton customers, on their web site, that they will contact the FBI if any charge-backs are attempted. And they further their insult by saying they have won 95% of their cases. Sounds like these people are drowning in issues that we as consumers can and should easily avoid. I wish I could shut them down myself."

"This company should be shut down first of all. I use pricewacth.com to find parts and got directed to econopc.com for the best price. Well I orderd the mobo and then the next day I get a call wonting me to upgrade the processor, cus the one that I order would only come with a 15 day warranty instead of one year like it said on the site. So I spent the extra $10 bucks to get the one year warranty. I got the board in good time, one problem. It would not do anything, so I go to the site and fill out a long RMA form and opt. for the advance replacement for an extra $10. It has been almost a month and still have not recieved the board or any explanation to the delay. I have sent many e-mails to every address they have posted on the web site and have never got any response and as far as the customer service line, well I think they just leave it off hook, cus no matter when you call you get a busy. This site is nothing more than a ripoff and someone should do something about."
"I ordered an Athlon XP 2400 at very low price with parcel-post shipping. Got a call pressuring me to switch/upgrade. Told me they needed some nonsense about confirming shipping agreement, and put my (non-profit) order on 'hold'. If they cannot afford to honour their low prices, dont waste time with them."

"Placed my order, received email saying they couldn't reach me by phone. (Curious, I have my cell on 7x24...they lied...never even tried to contact me by phone). I called them back and verified all info. Waited 2 weeks. Called to check on shipment, was told my order was cancelled because I never sent back form. What form? Never received any form. They claimed they sent me an email asking for photocopy of my visa and ID. Another lie. Looks like these guys will do anything to avoid honoring their pricewatch prices. Avoid like you would a SARS patient."
"My company ordered a CPU/Mobo combo from these people, which took forever to get. Then it turned out the Duron chip was bad, we went through the RMA and then were told "we" damaged the part,so no refund. This part was junk right out of the box. These people have created a clever way of disposing of faulty components at the consumer's expense. I have filed complaints with everyone possible, and urge you to do the same."
"As of 4/15/2003, no Hard Drive, that I've ordered from them. I choose the 5-7 days insured shipping and it's been 11 days and no hard drive. I also emailed them on the 4/10/2003 regarding my order, but as of 4/15/2003 no respose on my inquires.
I would suggest that anyone that believes that this company has a good deal with pricing, to seek better pricing elsewhere. This company is very poor with communication and deliveries."
"Ordered a hard drive on a Saturday through their web site, with 3-day FedEx delivery option. Expected it to ship by COB on Monday. EconoPC called and left a message just before 5pm on Monday to confirm my shipping address, said this was "standard practice." I tried calling back every few minutes for the next few hours and all the line ever did was ring. Same the next day, finally got through mid-afternoon next day (Tues.). They said drive would ship right away, but ended up not shipping until end of the NEXT day. It's now been well over a week and still no drive because FedEx attempted to deliver to the wrong address. I'll never buy from EconoPC again."
"Although their web site does not do a good job of updating you on the status of your order, they did get my order to me in a timely fassion, and for a good price. Their biggest fault I would say is their web site which, as stated before doesn't get updated often enough. The first product I went to buy, they no longer carried, even though it was still on their web site. A quick call from them, and I had chosen another one that was very similar, and only $15 more. I didn't mind, as it had a few better features anyway. If you don't mind not having a firm grasp on where your order is prior to it arriving at your door, these folks seem fine to me. They are giving you a really good price, so don't expect Dell like customer service."
