"My experience was less than satisfactory with EdgeMicro. I had ordered (2) CPU's on 5/22/2002. On 5/23/2002 my credit card was billed for the product ordered, but the CPU's had not shipped. I then tried repeatedly to call them, as my email request to cancel the order was replied with a request to call their 800 number. I called the 800 number, only to left on hold for upwards of 45 minutes. When the line was picked up, I was immediately disconnected. I immediately contacted my credit card company in regards to Edge Micro. The CPU's were shipped almost 2 weeks later. I requested an RMA and did get one. The product was shipped back within the specified period. My concern for people is read the fine print. Edge Micro will make money off you whether you cancel or RMA the product. There are other retailers that are far more ethical than Edge Micro, do not be lured by the prices on PriceWatch and SharkeyExtreme. Spend the extra dollar and go someplace else."

"Wow... yeah... Ordered 512 megs of RAM from them... Website said, "Will ship in 1 business day." The package did not ship.
This is the text of the conversation I had with their service rep.

ME: "Hello, I'm calling about an order of RAM I placed on the fourth of August."

SR: "What is your login name?"

ME: "*******" (sorry... i won't tell u my login name.)

SR: "Oh, well, Mr. Jones, your RAM should ship tomorrow."

ME: "Well Sir, that's what they said two days ago."

SR: "Oh, well they must have lied."

ME: "Well, the website said..."

SR: "The Website must be wrong."

ME: "Oh... okay... Well, it's rather urgent that I get this RAM."

SR: "Well, I'm sorry, you'll just have to wait. It was backordered but we have it now."

ME: "Ok, well since I was slightly misinformed, is it possible that I could get it expedited?"

SR: "No."

ME: "Oh I understand if you can't do it. Would you mind connecting me to a manager please?"

SR: "I can't do that."

ME: "Why not?"

SR: "Because we don't have managers."

ME: "Well who runs the company?"

SR: "Why are you asking questions?"

ME: "Because I need my RAM."

SR: "Look, I don't have time for you. If you want your RAM you need to hang up so I can get it shipped tomorrow."

ME: "Can you guarantee me that you will ship it tomorrow?"

SR: "No." Click.

Hrm... Perhaps you shouldn't make the same mistake I did...

BTW! My order was "EXPIDITED" that very night. But somehow, it was done without a tracking number... or at least, when I clicked shipping status, the UPS webpage said "EXPIDITED" (yes, spelled incorrectly) was the tracking number.

"STAY AWAY FROM EDGE MICRO!! BUYER BEWARE!! I'm a frequent purchaser of online computer supplies, and up until now my experience has been a pleasant one. I purchased 512MB of RAM on 5/14, and sent it back because it was defective about 2 weeks later. I waited for OVER A MONTH to receive a refund, frequently calling them (nothing but busy signals) and waiting to receive email. Nothing. When I did get my "refund" it was not for the full amount. OK Edge Micro, *I* get to lose money because *YOUR* product was defective??!! I don't think so! These people are unethical, with a poor customer service dept. to boot.

I just wish I had known about resellerratings before all of this.

"STAY-AWAY-FROM-THEM.Out of many on-line orders i've made with diferrent vevdors,this was my only bad experienc.Ordered k6/2-500 cpu on 7/27/02,was advertised as being instock,waited 10 days,still no email of item being shipped.Tried calling their 800# all week long, couldn'd get through.Finally got distgusted and sent them e-mail to cancel my order.I'll have to wait on my next c-card statement to see if they charged me."

"!!!Worst Ever!!!Amazing they are still allowed to do business. Zero satisfaction, cust service calls 1% chance of connection followed by @15min hold, Called twice , got the same guy who said he was the only person there. They did not have my memory chip in stock, did not know when they would get it, much less ship it and they won't refund my money!!! Rating = -10^C"

"Horrible, horrible company.
I ordered two Athlon MP CPUs on
July 22nd for $157. It is now
August 7th and I have yet to
receive anything. Sure, they
charged me the full amount on 7/22,
but after that no follow up whatsoever.
Their 800# constantly rings busy (i
have called every day for the last
2 weeks at different times of the
day and night.) I have
also sent them various emails
asking for followup calls, to
no avail. I suggest you look
elsewhere when making a purchase.
I was foolish enough to jump on
the cheapest price without looking
them up on ResellerRatings.

"Ridiculous! Originally order on 7.15.02. After several emails and voice mesgs I receive a package and it only has 2 of the 9 SDRAM ordered! Still cannot get to talk to anyone there, nor a email reply. Just wish I knew of resellerratings.com before placing this order!"

"all I can really say is SCUM SCUM SCUM!!! I ordered a simple PC100 256mb SODIMM...i ordered it second day air. After 2 weeks of calling and emails, nothing. FINALLY called the local police department out there and got them involved. After that, I was able to get in touch with someone at Edge Micro about my order. They said it was never in stock and they just got it and would send it out that day. Well I decided to cancel it, and they wanted a 20% restocking fee. DUH!@#$ How do you charge someone to restock if it was never in stock or sent!?!?!? Well I called Marican Express after Edge Micro told me it would take 6 weeks to credit it back. AMEX has been tryin to get any info from them and they haven't helped a bit. AMEX than sided with me and credited me the full amount. STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE!!!!!!! Pay $1 and get a thousand dollard worth of honesty and customer service instead. Good luck all...hope you read this first unlike I, who read it after the fact."

"I called edge micro to cancel my order for a peice of mem less than 4 hours after the order. This was before it was even looked at in the order que. I was told I would have to pay a 20% fee for the cancellation. I opted to go ahead with the order since I would probably need the memory in the future anyway. Two week went by and I have not recieved a order confirmation or a tracking number. So I decide to write them a email to see what the deal was. Turns out the order was not shipped till ten days later and according UPS it was delivered; However I never received the package. Edge Micro delibratly did not send me a order confirmation and tracking. I had no idea when the package was to arrive or when to expect it. For all I know no the BUM down the street got a free memory upgrade. Anyway the next thing to do was contact Edge Micro to let them know I never got the package. UPS says that the sender need to put a trace on the package and if it does not trun up in a week. They will pay the sender to resend the package. Edge Micro did not put a trace on the package up till this date I have not heard from STEVE GRISWOLD of EDGE MICRO. This company SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS. I wouldnt recommend this company to my worse enemy. The ship expensive then the ship late and the dont give tracking numbers. The phone is busy 24/7 form being off the hook. This is becasue the have screwed over so many people they should be out of business. I was able to persuade UPS to start the trace myself the only downfall to that is the only repay the seller to resend the items and I dont think I will be getting the tracking info again."

"I could have walked there and got my order faster. I ordered a T-Bird 1.4GHz 200fsb. I should have checked this website before buying because I now know why they have a 3 for a rating. After waiting one week I tried to call them. FORGET IT! If you don't get a busy signal, you'll get disconnected before you ever talk to someone. I tired 8 times (I'm not exaggerating) before I got a hold of someone. Once my cell phone used up a full charge before I had to hang up. Anyway, 19 days after I placed my order I finally got a hold of them by phone. I called as soon as they opened and got lucky. They said that the order still hasn't shipped yet. When I told them I want to cancel, they said that they'll ship it today and changed it from ground to 2nd day air. I should get it by the end of the week. Well, instead of fighting the system and canceling the order, I'm going to press my luck and wait for week's end. BTW, they said the part was in stock when I ordered."

"I placed an order with this company for a processor. my credit card was charged the next day, and after 2 1/2 weeks of waiting they still havn't sent my order. you can't contact them via email because they don't respond, and you can't contact them via phone because there line is always busy, and if you do manage to get thru they hang up on you."

"I Ordered parts overnight before 11am PST last Thursday. 4 days later they still have not shipped. I've received no answers to numerous phone calls or emails. I won't be back & I'll be sure to steer others clear if I can.

7/30/2002 I have opted to file against them today in small claims court, as continued requests for a refund or the merchandise I paid for have produced no response. If anyone else wants to file against these theives, you can look up your own small claims court and procedures at http://www.searchsystems.net/

"Well I'm a goof. I didn't come here before I ordered. Instead I come here and read after I ordered. Luckily I was able to call immediately afterwards and cancel my order w/o a $15 service charge (my order only costed $30). They said it would take 4 weeks for the credit to show on my card. After reading this page I immedately called my credit card company and notified them I might have done business w/ a fradulant dealer. They said wait 3 weeks and if it doesn't show fill out a "disputed claim" form. I will definately be doing this as I doubt they will be refunding my money in a reasonable amount of time :/"

"Well, Don't even think of buying from these people. I ordered, then found a better deal so cancelled, I got this return email:
"Dear customer,

Your order has been cancelled. Please allow 3-4 weeks
before the credit card is credited. There will also be a
$15.00 fee for cancelling this order. I am sorry for the
inconvenience."

A few things to notice in that message. first 3-4 weeks to credit my card?? who takes that long to credit your card, stores you can go to will credit you and you get that credit in 24 hours. Next is a $15 fee. I could understand if they had it ready to ship, but they didn't, they hadn't even requested credit from my card company yet. After I cancelled the order they asked the credit company for approval anyway. Their policy explicitly states "A $15 fee will be charged for order cancellations after the order has been processed". Forget talking to them; multiple 30 + minute waits were ended by being disconnected, or being hung up on by their "customer service" people(Tried to discuss the $15 charge but they just said there will be a fee and hung up). As a matter of fact they hung up on me twice!! I am filing with the BBB and giving this bad review, I am also disputing the refund speed and the $15 charge. Save yourself some headache, spend a few more dollars, buy from newegg.com

***UPDATE***
It has now been the 3 to four weeks, I contacted the attourney general and my credit company, they were nice enough to credit me until the situation has been resolved. The money finally did get credited early this week, 8/6/02 and it is for the full amount. I don't think they are charging me the $15 restocking fee either cause I have screen captures and my credit card company backing me on the time of approval versus my actual cancellation time. My best advice for those that have already ordered form this place is get the attourney general, BBB, and your credit company. If you haven't ordered from them, save some trouble spend a few more dollars and go somewhere else.
