"My order placed 08/11/23 called Monday to check status which is today. No one could find my order was transferred over 4 times. My order was still pending once found and I them told them to cancel order. Books were in stock and it couldn’t be explained why my order is still pending or shipped. People please be mindful bfore buying and having you money tide up. "
"I ordered a saunders nclex text two months back paid money ( while paying never showed up that its un available) waited a week 2 week 3 week git in touch with them told me product not available asked them to refund as i needed it and bought it on Amazon. Since two months still waiting for refund after muktiple messages . Asking me to be patient,,,, two months not enf to refund a purchase. Jesus christ never purchase anything from here . "I ordered a pdf paper copy of a research article. After paying a lot for paper, I was sent an electronic copy. I immediately raised a customer service ticket. Their customer service issues were never resolved. While I paid a rate that is premium for copying, close to a dollar a page, they say they only send electronic copies. No refund was offered either.
Their customer support email was badly written, which leaves the impression that as long as any email is sent, that’s all they need to do.

"I am taking online class and I had to use an access code. It didn't work at all. I was calling their customer service many times and they were sending me to my school BB to resolve the problem. Finally, I was able to get Kasandra as my customer representative and she was AWESOME !!! She was well oriented in what she was doing. She fixed the problem. They should have all workers like her. "
"I am a student going through the vet tech program. For my radiography class I needed to pick up Lavin’s radiography for veterinary technicians 6th edition. While working through the chapters there are review questions at the end of the chapters with a notation at the bottom that says answers to review questions can be found on the evolve website. I went through the trouble of registering and signing up in hopes to be able to get the answers to the questions I had just answered only to find that the answer key wasn’t available. So I went through the proper channels to contact a representative that might be able to help me. Turns out they only allow instructors to get the answer keys and couldn’t offer me any other way to fix this. I’m so disappointed in the capabilities of this online resource support and think it’s ridiculous that as a student taking online courses due to the pandemic am not able to check my own answers to the review questions at the end of the chapter...to me that should just be basic coverage after registering. "
"Tried to buy books from this website for my program bundle, not only could i not find the books on their website, their customer service is absolutely useless, redirecting you back to web pages that are not useful!! I ended up just going through my university book store, but once you get the product, the product is anything but user friendly!! My cohort was so lost and confused my professor just had to take time out of his lecture to help everyone navigate THE SYSTEM that is how USELESS ELSEVIER IS!! Their online chat didn't even work!! buyer beware you have been warned. Educators and institutions please find someone else, maybe Kaplan?? Elsevier is horrible."
"I bought my books BRAND NEW from my school program. Evolves website had a problem registering my book and customer service is convinced I bought my book USED. Every three days, a different person continues the email conversation with me, asking for more proof that my book was new, and asking for an access card which my book doesn’t come with (none of my other program books did, and I was able to register all of them!). I asked them where in my book to find this card (because they obviously don’t know what they’re talking about) and instead of answering my question, 3 days later they asked “do you have proof of your purchase?”. I gave pictures of my book when it was shrink wrapped, a paper I signed accepting my book, a paper I signed saying I would not buy a used book and that part of my tuition would go towards my books (The school would reimburse me if I had chosen to buy books on my own). I’ve been talking to customer service for 15 days now, going in a loop.
I could pay an additional $25 for the resources but I refuse to give this company another cent.

"I was forced into using this company through the school that I'm attending. They're difficult to contact with many dropped calls and being placed on hold and not picked up again. They're very quick to say that problems are addressed through their FAQ pages, but that's not true either. The problems that I've had are study guide questions that the book says are on line that don't exist, virtual clinical excursions that can't be accessed using Elsevier's own access codes, customer service reps that don't understand the system that they're giving advice on and suggest that you don't understand how to use technology are just the start of the problems I have with this company. One woman I spoke to suggested that students who are afraid of technology sometimes have issues. I'm a returning student who's studying for a second career. I have two degrees in electrical engineering and technology and worked in the manufacturing field for over 35 years. I am certainly not afraid of technology. When I calmly pointed this out to her the phone call miraculously dropped! If I could give this organization a negative star rating I would. I've been invited to be on a review board for my school in a few weeks reviewing the school's processes and suggesting possible improvements and plan on making my experiences with Elsevier known. Hopefully, future students will be spared the grief and hours of wasted time that I've been through with this company."
"This is one of the worst companies a have ever dealt with. I purchased an access code for a Nursing course (Medical-Surgical Nursing) online, and THEY double charged my account $230 (for a total of $460). When I called to get a refund, they told me my refund would take roughly 20 business days- which is a month- to get the money back that they took from me. When I called to speak to customer service, they repetitively and rudely told me it was "policy" to withhold the refund- even though it was THEIR fault. They offered no collateral and no sympathy. Considering I am a broke college student, that other $230 was supposed to go toward my rent and I had to beg my parents to help out. Unacceptable. I will NEVER purchase anything through Elsevier again, and I will be sure to spread the word throughout my Nursing program. "

"I spent a very decent amount of money purchasing my Dental Assisting textbooks through this company. I ordered my textbooks before class began and accidentally ordered a newer edition of the text. I didn't think anything of it because there is not much of a difference between the 7th and the 8th. UNTIL... it was hinted to me that the chapter worksheets in the back of the book are key to studying for my course's tests. So being as studious as I am I began answering the worksheet questions, only to find out that the newest edition does not include the ANSWERS. Never in my many years of schooling have I ever had a textbook supply study aids and not the answers to self-check. The 7th edition includes them so why doesn't the 8th. Absolutely absurd. I spent over 3 hours in chat and on the phone with representatives and supervisors and they told me that there is nothing they can do. They cannot refund the textbook (which I understand), they can't buy it back used, and they can't even send me the proper textbook because it is out of print (yet it can still be bought on other sites that are not the publisher). Very, VERY disappointed in the company and I will be sure to NEVER buy any merchandise from them EVER AGAIN; since I can buy it through 3rd party websites that do have a book in stock even though it isn't even published by them...strange! Basically wasted my time and got told to screw off and best of luck studying! (laughing face emoji)"
"Pretty unimpressed by the professionalism of Elsevier, they have an extremely inefficient refund process that has kept me waiting over 9 weeks now for my refund. It originally took me around 10 days to cancel my order and I was told by their customer support that there was no possible way for them to cancel the order. I sent a handful of emails and someone finally was able to help me cancel the order and said 6-8 weeks for the refund. I find interest free loans to multibillion dollar companies INSANE and I will never buy another product from this company. I called today to ask about my refund and they said it'll take another 7-10 business days simply to refund the money to my credit card. THOROUGHLY unimpressed."
"For as much as we pay for these products, it stands to reason customer service could be helpful without being rude. It even radiates out to the supervisors when you complain. Shameful. I would NOT optionally use this product. "
