"ordered a hat from etsy. they processed my credit card w/in seconds- they are apparently quite good at that, and then never delivered my purchase. they say it is not their responsibility and can do nothing to help. they got their money, but not willing to do anything for it. told me to contact the seller directly. but the seller is in greece and etsy will not give me any info about them. i would suggest purchasing through etsy is like **** your money into the wind"
"1.As a new seller there is zero support. No phone line and no transparent way of speaking to anyone.Focus is on customer support not sellers.
2.Extortionate,inexplicable fees for listing,VAT,sales and on top of that an additional charge for shipping which has nothing to do with Etsy.
3.Etsy have now told sellers they must provide free shipping to the US for orders overs £25 otherwise they would not promote the sellers shop...a greed based decision that has led to an increase in prices for customers and a vast number of smaller businesses shipping larger items leaving on principle. Please do not buy into their corporate bullying and greed."
"Beware any shop owner selling on Etsy. They permanantely closed us down OVERNIGHT without warning due to us having many overdue orders. We had a 5 star review rating. They DO NOT support you once you get bigger and cut off our income just like that. We have 3 children and a mortgage, they do not care one bit.
I will NEVER deal with this company again - So disappointed to be treated like this!!!"
"Ive reported etsy to the Federal Trade Commission and the Attorney General of New York I suggest ppl do the same if you have had an experience like mine, ive since seen hundeds of complaints like mine online
I signed up for a Etsy account to dropship items from Aliexpress (resell items listed on Aliexpress) dropshipping is allowed in Etsy's terms and conditions and there is hundreds of drop shippers on Etsy. Everything was fine until one buyer lodged a formal complaint she hadnt received her item, I replied giving her the postal tracking number showing the item was on its way, it was not late it was still actually in the timeframe specified in the product description and the buyer did later receive her item. However in the meantime Etsy banned my account saying "I gave the buyer a negative experience" I tried to reply and explain there was nothing wrong with the order and I had given the customer the tracking number but they replied simply stating they wouldnt respond to my emails. Since then they have posted on my etsy shopped that Im banned "suspended" everyone else with orders still on their way freaked out thinking they may not get their order. I gave everyone worried their tracking numbers and assured them the items were on the way. In one case etsy asked me to provide proof of shipping. I provided tracking number, screenshots of my aliexpress account showing the item had been shipped, more proof the item was being shipped to the customers address, even proof from the postal service yet etsy refunded every customer who asked about their order even when I provided proof of shipping and even when the customer received their product! I am out hundreds of dollars for these refunds and not to mention they still took their "selling fees". I literally did nothing against Etsy's terms and conditions, I was an honest seller, I was able to provide any proof they asked for yet they banned me for reasons not even accurate and discriminated against me as an individual dropshipping when they allow hundreds of companies to do it. And when I contacted staff they ignored any proof I provided and anything I had to say"
"I wanted to order a pair of wedding sandals from ABiddaBling through Etsy for $135.29 CAD plus shipping. I didn't realize I hit the "Submit" button twice until I received two pairs of sandals in one box. The sandals were flimsy and oversized. When I contacted the seller she was unsympathetic saying her policy was no returns. Ultimately, I was charged $347.28 CAD, including two shipping charges of $36.91 CAD for a outrageous total of $73.82 CAD shipping for a single package that weighed 1 lb 15 oz! I opened a case for review but Etsy gave me zero consideration. I'm stuck with two pairs of sandals I can't use and a bill for $347.28 CAD!"
"When I located a wall sticker on Etsy's site it read price including GST. At checkout the total of item + freight + GST was then subject to GST.
The wall sticker was of Palm Trees, and no matter how careful I had been, and I did read the instructions, I could not separate the palm tree's leaves from the backing paper without damaging the sticker, the result was a mess, I had to throw it away. I think maybe the glue was to strong or to old.
Etsy was absolutely no help, they responded just once to say they only charged GST once. All in all it cost me almost $90 and have nothing to show for it. Etsy did not offer anything.
Etsy you stink! The owners of businesses like yours should be jailed for fraud.

"Seller on Etsy - ArtDecoTr Eren SAVAS https://artdecotr.ecrater.com/ advertises on Amazon, Etsy and social media pages. I have purchased a wall clock from them under the link:
"Large Wall Clock,Modern Wall Clock,Wooden Wall Clock,Decorative Clock,Engagement Wedding Gift,Large Unique Wood,Home decor ,Gift for Friend
Large Wall Clock,Modern Wall Clock,Wooden Wall Clock,Decorative Clock,Engagement Wedding Gift,Large Unique Wood,Home decor ,Gift for Friend"
The description stated that the item is made out of "Material: Wood (Not any plastic, unnatural or synthetic materials)" The cost was AUD $131 at the time. The item arrived on 18th of June 2019 in a ripped, soft, cheap, paper bag without any structural support (a flat clock, 60 cm in diameter traveling across the world, put into a paper bag!), the packaging did not even have any bubbles or foil, it was half open. The item is not made of wood but the poorest quality leftover melamine and paper, factory cut, not handmade, the color is not consistent through, the white looks yellowish gray, the clock is bent, scratched, and it looks like it got wet during transport as the finishing is peeling off. I am fighting for a refund, the seller 'Eren Savas' (doubt an actual person) communicates with an automated, templated poor English (classic scammer), 'she' either does not respond at all or is delaying the process, very difficult to deal with. It has been 6 days now and still no refund - basically, a dodgy scamming developing country business. I do not believe I am a one-off. I suspect this is a dodgy company in Turkey (that's where the item came from) portraying itself as a boutique art items supplier. I question the quality of Etsy advertisement policies and authenticity of Etsy reviews, there is another review stating they never got their item from this seller and Etsy still has not removed the seller. I wonder how much Etsy gets from it! BE WARY!"
"Don't buy from this site, because when you have problem with your order they won't responsible for anything, for instant if the seller sent you fake tracking number, the escalate team will say it's not their responsibility if the tracking number is wrong or error as soon as the seller have tracking number for you. This means any seller can fake tracking number and they will get away with it. Or if the item does not arrive, the escalate team will called it a late arriving and you have to contact the shipping company by your self. And not even talk about refund, because most of the shops on ETSY pay through PayPal and thus they will advise you to contact PayPal your self for refund. All in all this website is a scammer who responsible for nothing that ever happened to you lost order. Ehh.. but they will responsible for the damage item, however needed the proof but where could you give them proof when item never arrived. Hahaha what's a joke website!!! "
"ETSY.com resolution did nothing for a order that I mad Dec 13, 2018 explain and till this day still shows not received yet, wish I can post screen shots of our messages together, I will never order from them again and will post my review on every page I can I’m out of $80 for my sons Christmas gift that I bought and never received, when your a father and live in a different state something like this should not happen "
"My shop was closed by Etsy and they owe me money. There is a positive balance left in my Etsy shop account. All outstanding orders were completed and I have not received any complaints from those buyers. One month after my shop was closed I still did not receive my funds. After contacting Etsy support to inquire about my missing funds, it was stated those funds will be held for 6 months. When I try to reach out to Etsy support I receive an automated answer that has nothing to do with the questions I ask. It is near impossible to get a hold of a live person.
Did you know Etsy illegally emptied thousands of sellers bank accounts in February of 2019? Yup! That happened, google search it! And since they've closed my account, I am unable to remove my banking information off their site. I do not trust Etsy and I will never use their selling platform again. I do not recommend opening a shop on Etsy. Do yourself a favor and open your own website instead. At least then you won't be able to get shut down overnight, your bank account won't be hacked and you'll be just as successful without having to give your hard earned money away to an untrustworthy 3rd party.

"Most reviews are about buyer's experiences. Now please read my position from a seller's standpoint.
So I had a shop for over 2 years. 100 sales and 25+ 5 star reviews. One time a lady buys one item with shipping overseas. So I ship as usual, 2 day delay, economy overseas. After 3 month she opens a claim that item was not received, ETSY jumps in and gives her full refund.
Ok. I understand. But later, she leaves me negative feedback, ETSY closes my account and takes all of my money on the current sales balance!!
Emails going unanswered, no email on how to proceed with reclaiming the account. Nothing. No human interaction what-so-ever!! They just took my money, and run away with it!
So the summary is, if you are a seller, do not invest in ETSY! Do not run their ad programs, have a plan B, C, D. Because ETSY will screw you one day and take all your money.
If you a buyer, yes, please, go ahead, cheat and lie. Tell the seller that the item was never received, or it was not as described. ETSY will side with you, you will get your money back and can keep the items. "
"I wish I reviewed this company before shopping, I wouldn’t be here leaving my own review of how negatively I was treated. I opened a non-delivery case with them concerning a necklace I purchased from one of the shops (gorgeous) selling on their site. I was never contacted/emailed about the case I opened. They just closed it. Ultimately I lost money but it’s a lesson learned. If ur interest is obtaining items which promotes ur positive energy shop elsewhere not at ETSY. If they tolerate shops like gorgeous then those items are not coming from a spiritually positive place. DELETE THEIR APP FROM UR DEVICES. I pray this helps someone from making the same mistake as I did. "
"I am in North America and purchased a hat from an Etsy seller located in Italy. After almost 2 months, we assumed that the hat was lost in the mail, so the seller issued me a refund. I finally received the hat and informed the seller so, since this is the right thing to do. To my surprise, when I opened the package, the hat was a completely different material and a completely different style than what I ordered. The difference is so obvious that the seller could not have mistaken that the hat she sent was not the hat I ordered. Since the hat is not what I ordered and I don’t want it, the seller wants ME to foot the bill for the return of it to Europe. I do not believe that the burden of financial responsibility is mine because I did not order this hat. I offered to return it if the seller would pay for shipping, but the seller refuses.
Etsy has policies that say they will intervene between seller and buyer in certain cases. My case qualified in 3 different areas of their terms for intervention. After several emails with Etsy, Etsy refused to intervene, refused to look at the photos, and refused to discuss the matter further, despite the qualifications for intervention.
I will never shop on Etsy again."
"Real companies like Amazon provide customer support. I can't call. I can't even figure out how to email my question. I can only read unrelated articles that address other people's questions. No thank you. I do have a life. That's cheap and illegitimate business practices to me."
"On 11/13/2017 I first Contacted 'Geek Chimp Designs' from Etsy to update my website menu as I wanted it to be 'fancy and interactive'. We agreed on a price of $125 for this task. After a couple weeks, I was told to get my menu to function as I would like I would need to rebuild my website as the current coding and modules were not compatible. They claimed my previous developer didn't have the coding done correctly so they could fix that along with a new design for me. So while I did get a menu for my website, it was ultimately boring, plain and did not do what was originally agreed due, which I was told was due to my site and such which is why I ultimately agreed for the site update.
On 11/26/2017 I hired 'Geek Chimp Designs' from Etsy to redesign my website for $1,100 with a due date of if being completed within 4 weeks. This price included not only a new site, but the menu as functioning as originally agreed when I hired them. I accepted the offer for my site to be redone, have the coding fixed & have my menu working as discussed. It's nearly a year later & I have nothing to show for it except the (incomplete) menu design. I have over 500 messages on Etsy with this seller in regards to asking for updates & proof of progress, such as screenshots, that were never provided. (Oh wait, I had a template I said I liked - but was never applied using my site content, just a basic template which I later discovered was not even custom made for me, but found elsewhere on the internet and I was provided a screenshot of how my new menu was looking in the design... the design I never ultimately saw). There was always an excuse. I was consistently told that I would see something by X date or it would be completed by X date. The date would come & nothing would be done & another date was pushed back. I tried to continue working with them, expressed my frustration multiple times to no avail.
Finally, I reached out to Etsy to help resolve this issue as this was the platform I hired the seller on & they claimed too much time had passed and they would not help me despite the fact this was an on-going project that was not delivered. They said to keep working with the seller (I have a copy of the email). The fact that this was on their platform and they would not even investigate to see that this was an ongoing project and not a "one time purchase and done" transaction I certainly expected a little more support as a buyer. Of course, I got no help. I continued to try & work with the seller hoping for some results.
On 9/10/2018 I filed a dispute with my credit card company for the $1,100 & am awaiting their decision. This does not include the $125 I paid for the menu which is not functioning as promised. On October 4th, 2018, I also filed a dispute with my credit card company in regards to the $125 spent on a non-completed menu since I would need the new site in order to get the new menu I originally paid for.
As a result of the sellers negligence with my website, my sites analytics DRASTICALLY changed from the month prior to me hiring the seller in October 2017, from when he started the work. For reference, in October 2017 (from the 1st to the 31st) I had 18,375 sessions and 23,941 page views according to Google Analytics. From that point, my numbers steadily declined. Less traffic means less users clicking on affiliate links meaning less income coming in. However, that is hard to prove, I understand. What I do want to point out though, is that my website does not work properly since the seller was working my site. One example being some links no longer work. While the content and categories still show, whatever was done by the seller made this stop working. Additionally, I had to purchase a new RSS feed link generating system as the seller made changes without my consent making my previous (and free) RSS feed link generator no longer working. I also had an instance of my site going offline due to a file being delete in July of 2018. No one else was accessing my site and this was only found by the amazing developers from my web hosting company. These are just the issues I know about from what the developer has done. My hosting company developer took a look and recommended I have the site re-done to fix the errors my site has. I don't know 'tech talk' however, we can prove that there was FTP access where files were either added, removed, or modified during the time period the seller worked on my site.
