"This is the second time I’ve ordered glasses through EZContacts. This is the second time I’ve ultimately been satisfied with my purchase. However, this is also the second time I’ve been disappointed with my ordering experience. Customers should know that in spite of the website indicating a particular set of frames is available, available does not mean “in stock”. If the frames you select are not in stock, hopefully you are not in any hurry to receive your new glasses. The website states that items generally ship within a few days of when your selected frames are sent to the lab for lens preparation and installation. What it doesn’t tell you is whether or not the frames you just selected and paid for (as well as the prescription lenses) are readily available, or if you may have to wait awhile. Instead, you might receive an email a few days later informing you that your frames are on backorder and they will let you know when they arrive and can be sent to the lab. You won’t likely hear from them again until your ordered item finally ships. In both instances I really tried to be patient, but after 2 + weeks of not receiving any kind of status update and seeing only order “in process” on the website, I inquired as to what was going on. In both cases, it wasn’t until I indicated how extremely annoyed I was becoming that things would finally start moving. Coincidence? Maybe. But, in both instances, it took about 3-4 weeks to finally receive my order, even though they had already processed my $800+ payment. So, just be aware that you might want to call first to confirm the frames you want are available before placing and paying for your new glasses.
Incidentally, in both cases, some sort of “company shutdown” for holiday occurred in the middle of my order processing. In the first instance it seemed like it was a week-long shutdown for Easter … I’d never known a company to shut down that long for Easter before, or since. But, no one answers phones or returns calls or emails during these shutdowns."
