WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN

"The fabric I orders after washing in warm water and drying on an outdoor line shrunk by 10 inches in length. The reviews on-line said it would shrink in length by 3 inches after washing in warm water and drying in a dryer.

I placed this information on their site in the 7 oz duck fabric review section. I also spoke to the manager and asked that she make sure my review is posted on their site to help future consumers make a decision based on facts not deception.

Put bureaucrats to shame

"Order the package on Saturday, realized it was going to my home instead of where I needed it to go, so immediately called afterward. It was a Saturday, they were not available. Called Monday, told me I could change the address with UPS, called UPS and had both of them on the line. Because it was different from my home address, UPS could not change the address for me. UPS said the business would have to, and Fabric.com said in no way would their policy allow them to. To quote "Lame, Lame, Lame, Lame". Really, I find the VA easier to navigate. "

Horrible Company!

"Here is the review I left on fabric.com which they refused to publish:

I ordered P.Kaufman Blue Smoke velvet while it was on sale (not final sale or clearance) based on the photo and the color description as I generally find fabric.coms photos and descriptions accurate. However, this fabric was a light grey with a slightly greenish hue, not 'Blue Smoke' at all. I emailed fabric.com to see about returning or even exchanging the item for another color and was told they would be happy to take the return and I would just need to request a return label. Upon requesting the return label, I was told by a different representative that the fabric was now final sale and could not be returned. I sent multiple polite follow up emails that have been completely ignored. It's very disappointing as I have purchased from fabric.com many times. This was the first item l sought to return and I truly could not be more shocked by their horrible customer service.

Concerned about bad reviews but more than satisfied!!!

"First I was very concerned and not sure if it's the right thing to order at fabric.com because of so many bad reviews in the internet.
Because I needed the fabric really fast (delivered to Germany) I chatted with customer service, they answered fast and helpful, gave me all the information I needed.

Price (5/5):
I couldn't find the fabric for the same or a better price so that's a 5-star.

Customer service (5/5):
They answered directly and helped me getting my fabric very fast.

Shipping (5/5):
I was and I am still impressed!!!! Other reviews were complaining about long delivery times.
I've received my delivery in Germany after only 2 days!! Including time for German customs.
Service of UPS is incredible.

Fabric (5/5):
The beautiful Tommy Bahama fabric looks even a little better in real life than on the photo.

Total (5/5):
Talking for my order I can't understand all the other reviews. Everything worked out perfect.

Bad cut

"I ordered 3yds of 108" wide flannel for a quilt backing, just over a year ago. I was in no rush as it's my own quilt that I'm working on so I didn't bring it out until this year. The color was accurate, came in one piece, but who does the cutting? It's severely bowed, so my 104x104 quilt will now be a 98x98 if I'm lucky. The center is about 108" long, but the sides are 99" and 102" long. I lost a quarter yard, and that is quite a bit of fabric to lose. I've purchased other fabric by them, and now I'm quite concerned. I just emailed customer service, but judging by the posts here, I won't expect much."

Never ever again.

"10/26/18
My only order though Fabric.com is not going well. Aside from being bombarded with email solicitations, 1. my order was never acknowledged, 2. my email inquiry was not answered. 3.My telephone call was met with hostility, 4. I was sent to voice mail when I asked to speak to a supervisor 5. My added $40 payment for one day delivery should arrive in 7 days. This company leaves lots to be desired. It's not for me.

"ordered a super expensive lace for a wedding dress. They send a really cheap lace twice and still charged us for the expensive one. Don't ever order from Fabric.com!!!!!!"

Bad bad business

"I received my order of 12 yards of fabric (worth of $115) 6 months ago but didn’t open the box right away, as I am a busy mom of a toddler who has no help during the day. So I opened it a couple of weeks ago when I finally got time to sew my curtains, and I was shocked!!! I received the fabric not in a solid roll, but in six cuts of different length, and even the longest ones were not enough for the height of my windows! I have no use for this!
I requested a refund, or fabric replacement in one piece.
They got back to me without any apology at first, saying that they ship fabric in one piece unless it’s more than 8 yards, then they may send it in two pieces. Also, they said they were unable to accept a return because its been more than 30 days.
I emailed back asking to send me replacement fabric or at least punish the person who was responsible for packing, and got no answer.
I contacted Amazon, they said they would reach out to the seller.
The fabric.com’s representative sent me an email after that apologizing, stating they no longer have the fabric (right, you probably sent me the remains of your stock in 6 little pieces) and offering $30 credit in their store. Oh, thank you for your generosity! I spent $115, I will never ever shop at your store again, and you can keep your $30. I feel I became a victim of a bad joke twice, 1st time when some … bad person packed the chopped fabric for me, and 2nd when their representative offered me $30 credit in their store.. In the end no one got punished.
I called Amazon again, and was told they couldn’t do anything else at that point.
My mistake was I didn’t open the box and didn’t check it right away, because that never never happened in my 15 years experience shopping online in the US. Why would I be suspicious of the order? I assume people fulfill their responsibilities and have human and professional ethics.

Please, don’t ever shop with the dirty company, I hope my disappointing experience will save your time and money.

Wrong color, customer service was just smoke and mirrors.

"Never followed through with what she said she would do. Never really tried to make it right either and just said I could return it multiple times. I just politely asked for a solution and told her how important it is that I have the right fabric asap and willing to figure something out. Every place I have ordered from like this and have had any slight issues fixes it immediately and asks what more they can do. Always making sure that things are managed in a timely, efficient manner. They also charged me for 4 yards of interfacing when I only ordered 2. The customer service lady told me she would talk to the shipping department and get back with me. Nothing ever heated or cross was said, so I took her word and I emailed pictures to show the problem as we had agreed. She said she would call me back today and never did. They have now Coust me and my client more money and time that I don’t have, to make sure this sweet girl has the wedding she wants. I run a small business, just me, so I don’t have time to spare this time of year. Never ever will I do business again with them. I never have before but my client loved the pattern that they had and the color was just what she wanted. And funny thing I looked and looked for it elsewhere but I should have looked harder and gone with the people I know. I am sick to my stomach over this and what really makes this even more upsetting is they don’t care about any of it and they won’t do anything but tell me to return it like the customer service lady said at least 4 times. But I am not paying to ship anything nor do I want to waist anymore time, energy or money on it. Fare thee well and I bid thee adieu."

Garbage Customer Service

"Im usually happy with fabric.com, but on my last order I was given fabric that was 60" in length when I had ordered 72". I contacted customer service and was told the length of that fabric was always 60".
No, that would be the width.
I sent an email back telling them I wa referring to the yardage. And they replied saying they had sent notice to UPS to pick it up. They don't seem to be able to read emails.
I told them not to send anyone as I have already cut into the fabric (apparently I should always measure to make sure theh have sent enough). I have yet to hear back.
I will be takingy business elsewhere.

RUDE customer service

"There is a customer rep who mostly answers your call and she cuts you before even you can communicate or finish your sentence with a very rude tone. I thought customer reps are supposed to listen and help you kindly and not treat you with rude behavior. Seems like she is indefinitely grumpy because I experienced this twice and I recognized the same mean tone again! Great fabrics for sure but they really need to look into their quality of "customer care"."

Worst fabric purchasing experience ever!

"I ordered just shy of $200 worth of fabric from Fabric.com, and it was the worst! I ordered 2 yards of a top dollar cotton fabric and received it in 3 pieces, 1yd, and two 1/2 yard cuts. I ordered a couple cuts polar fleece that was stunning on the page and drab and what I received was drab and washed out . I order 2 items that were sold as minky, but were only soft when one side was rubbed with the nap, not at all the other way, and the back side was similar to the underside of upholstery fabric. They don't even know how to fold the fabric, with the bigger cuts just basically rolled up. Never again!"

Better fabric retailers out there

"I have been quilting for 16 years and live in a very secluded area. For convenience to save time and gas (not drive anywhere from 40-1:30 away to the nearest quilt store) I do a lot of ordering online. I have ordered multiple times from Fabric.com and usually their turn around rate is fast and I like that they have Amazon Pay. Those are really the only two good things I can say for them.

Issue 1: I find it rather annoying that basically the only amount of fabric you can order and not be ripped off is 1 or more yards (and even there you're running a risk which is the whole point of this review). I mean, yes they have an option to buy just a 1/2 yard but it is only usually about $1-2 cheaper than buying a whole yard. I think is this is a rip off because honestly I used to work in a quilt shop a cutting a half yard of fabric is not any harder than cutting a whole yard. Howver, you are basically giving your customers only two options, buy a whole yard at yard price or we'll sell you a 1/2 yard for basically the same price as 3/4 yard because we want your money but not going to actually give you your money's worth in fabric (I usually choose the first option because the other is a rip off). So in other words you better really like the fabric you ordered because you're going to have a lot of it.
P.S. the color of the fabric is usually off from what they have posted online. And I get there's different dye lots, but as a warning you are probably getting some way off color to what you might be trying to match because the lighting is off when they photograph the fabric.

Issue 2: My other problem is that whoever or whatever they use to cut the fabric is a total hack job. You loose so much fabric having to trim and make it straight it's ridiculous. A total loss of money. Seriously I bet you they could do a better job at a Cost Cutters. I have had Joann cut straighter lines than Fabric.com. I guess this is how they justify the pricing scam, because you will have plenty of fabric if you don't want to be ripped off and buy a whole yard or more of everything you order.

Issue 3: This is the main reason I wrote this review. I just placed an order with them and got it quickly, which was nice because I ordered backing for a quilt that I wanted to get to the the quilters asap. I was really excited for this backing because I had been surfing for 108 wide fabric in the color/style I wanted and no other place online had what I was looking for or was out of stock. So I thought I'd just have to **** it up and piece 3 pieces of 40-45 inch wide together to get what I needed. Fabric.com had just what I was looking for so I ordered 3 yards. Just got the order today and the backing showed up in 3 PIECES??!!! SERIOUSLY?!! The whole reason for ordering 108 wide is so I don't have to piece a back together! Oh, well. I am going to keep the fabric and piece it together because I don't want to deal with the customer service. But I just wanted to write a review (and I never write reviews) to warn others that if you order more than one yard (especially for wide backing), you might get it in more than one piece and still have to piece it together anyway.

Just as a suggestion to those of you who like shopping for fabric online fatquatershop.com and missouriquiltco.com are get websites and have a lot of options for fabric.

HORRIBLE

"I've had a horrible time with this retailer. I ordered a sample and it came and was not the one I ordered. I emailed them about it so they sent another one and it was wrong. They said they'd check in to it but never did and won't refund my money. I ordered fabric. They sent a confirmation and then days later said they didn't have it. Slow to refund my money on that. I ordered another fabric and it came and was short of the yardage I had paid for. It's always a wreck ordering from them! Not worth it!
