"I wish it were possible to not even give them a star whatsoever.
As a Christmas present for my children, I went online to order 4 movie tickets for Thursday (Christmas Eve). The session timed out and when I continued, it saved the time and the amount of tickets I wanted, but apparent defaulted the date to today. I realized the error once I got the email confirmation. This was at 11:17A, and the showtime was to be 1:00P.
I called immediately and was promptly put on hold for 48 minutes before I got a human being on the phone. "Kimberley" informed me that there was nothing she could do because the showtime was in less than two hours. I told her that when I purchased the tickets, it was already within the two hour time frame, so that seemed a little odd of a policy. I also told her I did not want my money back, I just wanted to change the date. She said there "are policies in place for a reason, so therefore, there was nothing she could do". At this point, I asked for a supervisor and she refused, telling me that he would definitely tell me the same thing she had just told me, so there was no need to transfer my call.
She finally ended the call by telling me that she "suggest I read things carefully next time before confirming."
Fantastic. I am out $48. Merry Christmas to me.

"I purchased Regal Movie Theater tickets through Fandango with Paypal and have a Paypal card. Instructions said that I could use my card to pick up tickets at theater.
I left my phone home as I always do when going to theater. Upon arrival at theater, the box office said that they could not read a Paypal card. I needed to buy new tickets, but Fandango would refund what I purchased through them. After waiting on hold for 45 minutes with Fandango, guess what-- No refund.
They say it's not their fault the theater could not read a Paypal card. I asked for supervisor, waited on hold AGAIN, only to get voicemail. EVERYONE passing the buck.
Moral: Don't trust a service like Fandango to sell you someone else's tickets, and certainly don't rely on Fandango to have speedy or helpful costumer service. NEVVVVVER AGAIN!"
"Yep...another 1 star review. 2 hour phone time support. 1 hour chat support. Purchased wrong movie time, asked for credit towards new movie time...not even a refund. Denied. Do NOT use this company! "
"I purchased tickets through Fandango for Harkins Theater. Harkins Theater clearly offers a military discount to active military but since their site was down, I was forced to use Fandango. Fandango reneged and lied when I asked about military discounts telling me that the only reason they did not offer it was because the theater did not. A complete lie. The site kept switching the date I was trying to purchase to the day prior. I noticed that there was a "Worry Free" policy that meant I could easily exchange or refund my tickets two hours prior to the show. It was 8 days so O was not concerned. I repurchased the tickets again for the correct day. Again, the site kept pushing me to the prior day, but finally I was able to get the correct day to click in. I made the second purchase and went in to try to obtain a refund for the erroneous purchase. I could not get the refund because NOW the error tells me that since my purchase was over $100, I could NOT get a refund. So, I called customer service. I was placed on hold for 52 minutes. I explained the situation to the operator. She was unconcerned about the military discount issue and told me I could only get credit after jumping through a number of hoops. I did not want credit especially since I never care to use this company again. I finally got the credit only after they extracted a fee."
"They are a rip off - the card I bought my parents was too hard for them to use- it didn't work for any of the theaters nearby, the site gave me the wrong theater but would not give me a refund but kept sending me emails saying the problem had been solved "
"Reasons are simple and apparent:
1. You need to pay 10% Convenience Fee by using Fandango.
2. If you forgot to watch the movie, you will not be able to get refund or exchange a new ticket.
3. Really bad customer service, the live chat person whose name is Shevaughn is ruthless."
"Fandango won't give money back despite not providing service. I bought a ticket through fandango.com and paid through my credit card. Since the show got canceled, i requested a refund from fandango customer support. Well, fandango wouldn't return the money despite not providing the service, instead was offering me fandango credits. No business on earth does this. If the paid service was not offered as promised due to no fault of the customer, its the responsibility of the business to return the money. And, every respected business does this. Fandango is refusing to return the money the way it was paid. Seriously Fandango?? When did you start stealing people's money in daylight?? Is your business so bad that you are running scams to make money??"
" bought tickets via fandango. Made a mistake (easy with the terrible user interface) and bought a day early. Realized the mistake the next day and tried to get the tickets exchanged ... kept being told by terrible bureaucratic customer service that it was not their policy
Interestingly, when I finally had it with fandango and actually called the theatre, they exchanged the tickets in seconds"
"The absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced. Their website gives me an error when purchasing tickets, but I get an email that says I have purchased tickets for a movie that starts in less than an hour. I contact Fandango to let them know of the error and they tell me that there is nothing they can do, I am out that money. Save yourself money/hassle, order tickets directly from the theater's website."
"After reading so many negative comments about Fandango, I nearly freaked out about the tickets I bought to a movie a week in advance. I was so scared about losing my money and not being able to watch the movie. But I took the risk to go ahead to the theater and see what'll happen. I was SO pleasantly pleased with how quickly it all went for me. The theater was packed and everyone was waiting at the box office to get their tickets. I walked right into the theater and redeemed my Fandango tickets for movie tickets with no problem at all. I luckily made it just in time to my movie and my reserved seats were definitely waiting for me.
It was a great experience and I would definitely use Fandango again. Not to mention I got 2 tickets for only 9$ which are regularly priced at 10$ each! Thank You Fandango! :)"
"I ordered two tickets online for a movie. That part was easy. I was stuck in traffic for 4 hours as a crash shut down the interstate for an investigation. I understand Fandango is not going to give me a cash refund. I asked them if I could receive credit for another movie. They said no way no how. This company values PROFIT over customer service. $16 was worth more to Fandango then me ever returning as a customer. I am currently beginning litigation for harassment over persistent telephone calls and Emails even though I have told them on many occasions that I do not wish to be contacted by their company."
"Do NOT buy your tickets here. EVER. Purchased two tickets an hour before movie time. It was the first time I had used Fandango. I get there an no tickets came in. So AMC suggested I follow up with them for credit and I purchased two more tickets.
I called today, and apparently my email had a .cim in stead of .com so not only could they not send me the tickets, but they also could not refund me the money or give me a credit. Are you kidding me? What place does not confirm all info before taking your money?
I ask to speak with a supervisor and apparently no one had any ability to come to the phone. AND I couldn't wait.
His name is apparently Kurt. He is probably 19 years old, hiding in his FB account hoping everyone would just leave him alone. I don't blame him, he works in a toilet.
Do you think, Fandango, that it might have been good business to give me a credit? Would that not encourage me to return to your crummy service for more tickets? Just a thought.
"
"Fandango sucks! Save your money! Just buy at the ticket window! Don't give this as a gift if you like the person you are buying for."
"I have been using Fandango for years and this was the worse experience I have ever had and I will no longer use them to purchase tickets. I purchased tickets weeks in advance prior to the show and upon arriving at the theater my seats that I had reserved and purchased were unavailable. I was unable to see the movie and I was refunded my tickets and concession purchases. If Fandango can't provide the services offered on their website then they should not offer them. I am truly disappointed with the level of service I received from Fandango. "
"Needed to change my movie time, asked for a refund. All was refunded except for the $4 convenience fee. Asked for a refund and was told convenience fee was non-refundable. So if I would have purchased for the correct time I would have been charged $8 for ONE movie. Do not use this service. The convenience is not worth it and a ripoff. Customer service also does not care and just tells you have a nice day."
