"My purchase was April 2nd; I scrolled to and chose Movie time for April 7th at 11:50 for 2 for The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and when I printed the confirmation it is showing as movie date April 2 ,2015 time 11:10. I don't understand how this happened. I am taking a 91 year old Aunt and wanted to have everything ready to go so we don't have to stand for long. How can you fix this for me today so we can be there to use our tickets tomorrow. Well according to Fandango I paid for the tickets and that is that I will be required to purchase again if I want to see the movie! Really? I have learned to never purchase from Fandango and they also ask why I purchased a week in advance?"

"I will NEVER buy tickets in FANDANGO, I purchased two tickets to see the American Snipper, when I went to the movies to pick up my tickets the cashier said that they didn't have nothing on hold with my credit info. so had to purchased again at the movies theater, When I look my bank account now I have double charge, one from Fandango for $26.70 and the second from movies theater for $24.00 (at the end it was cheaper to buy at the movies). The next day I send an email to "Customer services", is been 4 days and no respond, I already called 4 times and no one answer the phone is just the machine "thank you for continue to hold your call is very important to us" my last call was on hold for 40 minutes ...this sucks ..I lost my $26.70 is too much. Incident: 150215-000162 (send email Feb 15) 6:38AM"

"I will never purchase Fandango gift cards again. If you have any trouble with the card, their customer service is a joke. You are left on hold forever, I stayed on hold for over 35 minutes with no end it site. I tried their online customer service email and received a form response and never any addressing of my problem. My problem was that a gift card given to me for Christmas didn't work. Everytime I entered the card number and pin, it was rejected. This is a wasted of $25!"

"I don't want to even give a star. I have spent the last hour and a half trying to purchase tickets on Fandango. First, the gift card I HAVE NOT USED and got a month ago, DID NOT WORK! They then tell me it will take 3-5 business days to fix it. Like that helps me now. Then, I tried to use my debit card, and got "SORRY THERE WAS AN INTERNAL ERROR. TO SEE IF YOUR PURCHASE WENT THROUGH, CLICK HERE." Well that was pointless, because guess what?! IT DIDN'T GO THROUGH. Customer Service hung up on me the first time, and did absolutely nothing to help me the next time. Needless to say, I am going to another theater, which is cheaper in price, and has excellent customer service. Fandango is a service not worth using. I will not be purchasing movie tickets through them again. "

"I want to let you know that once I purchase 4 tickets through Fandango online and I got a mail stating that "our gift card order will be delivered in a few short minutes". The mail did not came for 2 days until I have to call customer service and got the mail after 15 min of conversation. When I asked why I have to pay Convenience Fee with this kind of service they could not provide a satisfactory answer. I am not using Fandango after this incident."

"Do not use this service. If you happen to purchase a ticket and accidentally pick the wrong date or time that you want to see a movie, they will not exchange your ticket for another showing. Actually, you can't even get to a real person to try and exchange it. All you get is a voice recording or you get to hold. If I have to buy tickets from them, I will never go to another movie. $45 bucks down the drain!!"

"I recently bought tickets for the Hobbit through an IMDB link on Fandango's site, and thought I was getting the 3D HFR showing, but in actuality, I just got the the 2D HFR version. I was extremely upset, and when I bought the tickets, there was little indication that I was buying tickets for a showing that I didn't want to see.

We watched the movie, since we were already at the theater, and no other options were available until several hours later.

Only after we asked to speak to the manager, were we offered the opportunity to see the version of the movie we wanted, but it was not until MUCH later (11:15 P.M.), which was impractical for our purposes.

The following exchange from Fandango's customer service was full of scripted replies and total lack of concern for my experience. They were unable to offer me any sort of compensation for my dissatisfaction, leaving me to wonder exactly why was I paying an additional premium for being able to buy tickets online?

"Went online to purchase (3) Movie tickets at AMC theatre. Put in credit card information, and hit submit.

Get a weird timeout message, no email confirmation, so I got back to place the order again. Now the (3) seats I wanted are no longer available, so I choose 3 more. Same issue. Finally, logout, then in, and am able to successfully purchase tickets.

End up with (3) charges on my card, no email confirmation until the third charge. Never received a confirmation on the other 2 charges.

Try to go online to get help (as their is no Phone number to call) and it tells me 40 mins, so I bail. Try again this morning and it is 20 minutes to connected.

Still waiting and will NEVER use their service again. System is flawed, support is flawed and it is way overpriced for 3 tickets.

"I purchased 4 $25.00 gift cards for $20.00 each thinking I was saving money. The next day I attempted to purchase 2 tickets @ $7.50 each but was hit with a surcharge of $2.70. That turns a 20% discount into a 3% discount.

I elected not to finish the purchase thinking I could get a refund if I was not happy. Especially since I just purchased them and they were never used.

On their site "Find Answers" states the following.

How can I get a refund or exchange for the purchase I made?
Fandango and our theater partners both have a No Refund policy. However, in certain situations we can make a one-time exception.

So I figure that this was one of those "Certain Situation" would apply. Boy was I ever wrong.

Per customer service the one time exemption only applies if you want to change electronic gift cards for physical gift cards. But wait it gets better. You have to purchase the physical gift cards before you can apply for the refund.

"Received a few Fandango gift cards for Christmas. Decided to take my children and one extra friend each. For 5 of us, the ticket was $3.50 each. Then there was a convenience fee of upwards of $6. With that amount extra, I could have taken 2 extra kids. For this reason alone, I will ensure not to gift someone a Fandango card in the future. "

"My mom received a Fandango gift card from Fandango so it did not cost anyone $29 to purchase a $25 gift card. Whoever spends more than the gift card is worth is just CRAZY!!! But the problem is the $1.35 convenience fee (aka Bull$hit fee) that she had to pay on top of the $5.00. WTF?!?! That is more than 25% of the ticket cost so the actual worth of the $25 gift card is $19.60. If I had purchased an actual gift card, it would have been $4 more. And this fee occurs whether you use a gift card or credit card. Who would buy this and pay 25% more, I have no idea. Since it was a freeby, it was no problem, but I would never use this service unless it was free. I cannot believe people actually buy Fandango gift cards for $29. That is ridiculous. SMH

Wow! I tried to get around the convenience fee and purchase 2 tickets for my mom and her friend on her gift card and let the friend just pay her. To my surprise, we were charged $2.70. SMH So the ticket price for 2 was $10.42 with a $2.70 fee which means you have to pay a 26% fee for whatever they consider to be convenient. I can't believe people are still buying these gift cards because it's worse if you buy them, $29 for a $25 gift card plus the convenience fee spells RIP OFF!!!

"This Company is crooked. Ordered tickets and they put wrong date. Called twice and both times took me 30 min to get rep and 30 minutes to try and resolve. Wasted 2 hours nothing done. They e mailed me and said complain below this line but you ould not type anything. They had it blocked. Movie theatre deleted the ticket and issued me another one for day I wanted. Now they are saying they will charge me. If you had trouble with themreport them to Consumer Affairs. Unethical Company. Maxine Pearl"

"Absolutely ridiculous.... aside of the $25 gift card costing more than $25 I was only able to buy $19 worth of tickets because of the convince fee that they do not disclose until you are about to pay. So I have spent $29 on $19 of movie tickets... RIDICULOUS and i still have to stand in line at the theater to exchange my Barcode into "tickets" so I've lost $10 I had to go to store and buy the gift card then I had to place the order online and i now have to go to library and pay $.25 to print the Barcode then go to theater and stand in line to get my tickets before I can get into movies... would have been so much easier to just go stand in line at the theater and hope they didn't sell out before... this is ridiculous (i bought the gift card for my parents without realizing u had to purchase the tickets online and they do not use the Internet or even own a computer or have Internet at home so I just gave them the money and told them to go on a date to the movies)"

"The theater decided to close down for the night, so we couldn't see the movie at all. When I called Fandango to ask for my money to be refunded, they said that since the showtime had passed I had to talk to the theater. The theater doesn't have a phone that goes to a human being, so I will have to waste my time going to the theater a second time today just to get my money back. Fandango didn't even offer to refund my convenience fee on my first call - only on my second call did they refund that $5 for me."

"IF I COULD GIVE THIS 0 STARS I WOULD!! Fandango has the worst customer service! I order tickets and never got the confirmation email. They only have you enter your email once, so I wondered if maybe I missed a letter. Why would they only have you input your email once?! I then wanted to exchange for a later time so I called their service number. They have an option on the electronic prompt to choose someone to speak to regarding refunds. When I finally spoke with someone they told me that Fandango and Regal have a strict no refund policy! I asked why there was an option in the first place if they cant do it?! He then told me that they can't exchange either and that my best option is to buy the tickes for the time I want, call them back with the new order number and ask to refund the old ones where they will send to their investigations department that will contact me in 3-5 business days letting me know if they can refund me or not. THEY WANTED ME TO BUY TWO SETS OF TICKETS TO BE CONTACTED TO SEE IF THEY CAN REFUND ME! I asked to speak to a supervisor and he stated there was no one available. I asked to be placed on hold until one became available, he said "its not good customer service to have me wait on hold" Well its not good customerservice to tell me to buy my tickes a second time to only tell me that they may or may not reimburse me. I told him I wanted to be contacted by a supervisor as soon as one became available by phone and he told me their phones don't dial out! I work at a call center and I know that this is not the case. He then promised me that I will get an emial from a supervisor that night. This was on Wednesday, I didnt get an email until Saturday. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. I then called Regal and they told me I could exchange them at the theater."
