"We did have a problem with the 3 year warranty being limited to $1500, but this was resolved very professionally by Mr Tony Franco who arranged an appropriate replacement of the said warranty to my satisfaction."

"We purchased our SLR Canon through FotoConnection and were satisfied with our purchase. When we purchased the camera, we also purchased a 3 year warranty for accidental damage. While we expected to have the warranty in effect, we did not expect to have to use it this soon, or this smoothly. We were lucky to have been attended to by Mr. Franco in your customer service department who made the process quick, easy and seamless. "Update to my review: I just received a call from the GM, Mr. Bitman. He explained that FotoConnection was under new management with a focus on changing their current customer service model. Much to my surprise, he said that his team had been listening to all the complaints about having to call in and confirm an order. As it stands today, FotoConnection changed the process. Only those customers having a different credit card address and shipping address will have to follow this process. If the addresses for shipping and credit card are the same, then no more calling in to confirm an order. Good Job!

Mr. Bitman also offered a free 5-year warranty for my GPS unit at no charge. I am now a happy customer and will do business with FotoConnection again.


Original Review: I ordered the Garmin Zumo on a Saturday. The on-line ordering process was user friendly and I received a prompt email order confirmation saying my order would would take 24 to 48 hours to process. I was a little concerned that this process would take so long, especially since I paid for 2 day delivery. And, the email confirmation failed to state the transaction amount; something that I've come to expect from all internet transactions.

On Monday afternoon, I checked order status and found it was still being processed. So I called FotoConnection and, after being routed to three sales people, Eddie came on. He was very helpful in helping me through this last step in the process that served no purpose to me as a customer. The only benefit I could see in going through this process was for Eddie to sell me on an extended warranty--which, after 10 minutes on the line, the $99, 2 year warranty was offered for $49. Anyway, after we got through all that, Eddie said he would get it out to me immediately. On Tuesday, I received an email confirming that my order would be shipped via UPS and much to my surprise, it came in on Wednesday! Great job on the shipping. One final note, when I opened the box I found unpackaged parts rolling around inside. The GPS was not wrapped in plastic and neither were many of the parts. It appeared to me that this was an "open box" unit. It did not appear to be used, so I begrudgingly kept it because the unit seems to work fine, for now. Would I shop here again? Hmmm, difficult to say at this point. I believe I would if FotoConnection would change their order process and/or eliminate the following steps:

1. Send an order confirmation showing the total price owed. I was shocked to learn that FotoConnection charged a $10.00 handling fee, which was not advertised.

2. Eliminate having to call in and listen to a sales pitch that I am not interested in.

3. Eliminate having to confirm my credit card by responding to another email during the confirmation call.

"The camera I wanted was out of stock. After receiving a call, I ended up purchasing the Canon SX1 IS instead of the SX10 IS. The total cost went from $505 to $637. I liked the free expedited shipping and Bobby, the manager was very helpful, but am now not sure this was a great deal.

I received the product today. I'm very happy so far with the camera itself, but I was disappointed to find that some of the extras I paid for don't work with this camera--such as a wide angle lens, and it doesn't look like the filters can be attached. The tripod is about 3 inches tall and it was advertised as full size. Had I known about this, I would have just purchased the camera as a stand alone. Don't know what I'm going to do with the extra lens and filters. I'm sure they'd be useful for a different camera.

Since this was posted, I contacted them again. I'm returning the lens and filters in exchange for a 4 gb card and the postage on the supposedly free full sized tripod. (They tried to tell me I had to pay $10 shipping on the tripod which was not listed on the web site. Will update when/if I get the 4 gb card and tripod.

I finally got the tripod and 4gb card. Not sure I will ever do business with them again. If I did, I would not buy any package, just a single product. Still feel like I might have ended up paying more than what the stuff I got was worth.

"I was a little concerned ordering from FotoConnections.com given that they had less than stellar customer ratings, but the price was too good to pass up.

I purchased a Samsung 67" DLP TV and had a great experience - a bit annoying to get the follow up phone call that ultimately ends up as a pitch for the extended warranty but otherwise great service.

I have since bought a portable GPS navigation device and a Blu-Ray player from them. Excellent service and prices on all.
