"I bought 12 compact flourescent blue max bulbs on sept 29, 2009. By the end of 2010, 5 had already burnt out. These bulbs do not last."
"Having previously purchased a lamp from this company, and having the bulbs that came with the lamp subsequently fail in short order, I was left with no other option but to purchase more bulbs from this company. Since the bulbs are proprietary, there is no way to find a common replacement.
I have been unable to purchase said replacement bulbs for the last month, and read today that they would not be available until November! Thus, for three months, I'll sit with an expensive paperweight on my work desk, in place of a lamp. Save your money, folks - there are better companies out there."
"I ordered two compact fluorescent bulbs from Full Spectrum in 2007. About every six months, one of the bulbs fails. Each bulb has been replaced twice now.
The first time, they were very apologetic, but insisted that I pay a ridiculous shipping charge for the replacement. I was able to talk them into something close to reasonable, and I was not required to pay to return the broken lamp.
The second time, they did not respond to my warranty request in a timely fashion. The reply that I did get simply asked me to call them for service. However, this time, they agreed to pay for shipping both ways.
Both the third and fourth times, they were testy and insisted on applying their ridiculous shipping fees to send the replacements. Keep in mind, their warranty clearly states that they are responsible for paying to ship the replacement, and the user is responsible for returning the broken item; they refuse to honor this.
Also, at the point where it was obvious that this model has a design flaw which causes premature failure, I asked to simply return the broken bulb and the working bulb for a full refund. They refused, preferring to lose money sending out replacements.
I usually get compact fluorescents at Home Depot or Topbulb.com. It was a mistake to go with Full Spectrum.
Update:
Both bulbs failed again. They tried to charge me double what shipping should have been again, and again, I talked them down. One of the replacements was DOA.
Also, the packaging continues to have bulb misspelled "BLUB," which, after three years, is amazing to still see.
Skip Full Spectrum and buy elsewhere."
"I first ordered a Ultralux Infinity Torchiere lamp. I found it to be very poor quality and very unstable. The lamp swayed around like a man sitting on a flagpole. I called to return it and their customer service department talked me into getting another lamp. This one was the UltraLux Serenity lamp at almost twice the cost of the first lamp. They also would send me a return shipping label for the first lamp. The second lamp arrived broken in the box. I called again and requested to return the second lamp for a refund. It was then I was told I could return it for a refund, but return shipping cost were my responsibility. I was told this was their policy, even on a broken item. I immediately shipped both the first and second lamp back and waited for my refund. The refund was not made after several weeks and I finally had to file a dispute with my credit card company. After another month, Full Spectrum finally did refund the cost of the lamp, but according to their policy, did not refund shipping cost. The result was that I got stuck with paying shipping cost to me and to return a broken lamp. This company has a beautiful brochure, however the products and customer service are the worst I have seen in many years of online purchases. If you order from them, be very sure you want the item because they will do everything they can not to get it back. If they do take it back, they will make you pay."
"Ordered June 19th and was contacted via phone two days later. Apparently, the model I was looking for and other models were not in stock and would not be until August. The website claims all were in stock and still does. Eventually ended up ordering the more expensive model. Once I received it, the bottom was all scratched and looked as if it was dragged on some floor, and the pole itself had some fingerprints on it. In other words, the item was "renewed." It is not alright to claim an item is in stock when it is not, but it is even worse to send a more expensive item in a condition other than described.
Update:
Ordered from them again to complete the set. They shipped the item the next business day and it arrived a couple of days later. No complaints this time; the item was new and the process was smooth."
