"AVOID. AVOID. AVOID.
Just as all the others have explained, this business is knowingly delaying order processing in the hopes that you cancel your order. By doing this they collect 35% without every having to do anything. It is a scam and it is astounding this place is still operating. It has ZERO affiliation with GM and basically all parts are listed as "special order" when they aren't. It is misleading consumers. Go to your local GM dealer and get the parts, they will arrive the next day. AVOID ordering from GMPartsDirect, you will lose money."
"I canceled an order that I ordered weeks ago. They charged me a 30% restocking fee of over $50 immediately for a part they don't even have, but as of yet I haven't received my refund of $175. I can take the restocking fee scam, but where is my refund. They could have deducted the $50 something dollars from the $175 instead of charging me again and still not refunding me the $175. It's been a week already since they charged me the restocking fee and no refund. NEVER BUY FROM THOSE SCUMBAGS AGAIN."
"I made an order on 10FEB22, and the parts arrived broken on 01MAR22 because they weren't packed at all. I proceeded to open a return, and per the tracking number, my return package arrived on 09MAR22. GMPARTSGIANT states that it will take up to 5 business days to inspect and decide the case, but it's been 12 days counting today! These people (GMPARTSGIANT) don't give me any statuses at all, and when I contact them last time (two days ago), they didn't know the return was received, so they told me to wait two additional days.
Doing business with GMPARTSGIANT has been a waste of time because of the poor customer service and their lack of knowledge on what they are doing. TAKE CARE OF YOUR MISTAKES!!"
"Purchased splash guards. The color was not a good match and returned at my cost. I was charged for a restocking fee because I did not give my vin #. A VIN number was not asked for. There is nowhere to enter a VIN #. It's a trap.
Gm parts is not out one penny. Notified BBB and no response from company. Find a reputable source. They are not worth the effort."
"So stupefyingly hideous is the Gmpartsdirect.com experience, you'll need to bathe in 10 gallons of disinfectant, get a full-body scrub and shampoo with vinegar to remove the scummy residue that remains after buying a part from Gmpartsdirect.com experience. It is a scam.
Purchased a bolt from Gmpartsdirect.com. Single bolt. Was charged - ready? - $2 for the bolt and $20 “shipping.” For a 2-ounce, 1-1/2" piece of metal that would fit in a normal #10 business envelope.
Anyway, Gmpartsdirect.com sent the wrong bolt - say by a mile. Not even close.
Thus, the ambush began.
After several e-mails, back and forth, Gmpartsdirect.com, without ever admitting error, finally agreed to accept return of the wrong item. BUT, for the first time, Gmpartsdirect.com revealed that it does not refund shipping charges – even if it shipped the wrong part. Their mistake. You pay.
Wait. Wait. There’s still some chicken on that bone. Even if Gmpartsdirect.com ships the wrong item, it charges the customer a “restocking fee” IF it agrees to a return. Yep. Their “mistake.” You pay. You eat the artificially bloated “shipping” charge AND a mysterious “restocking” 35% fee. Gmpartsdirect.com is coldly efficient for what it is. But what it is - is a scam. Full stop.

"They ignore you told me there working on it but a month later nothing,I just want my truck fixed at least if they told me there robbing me I could have bought the part from someone else .Do not buy from them there con artists."
"Purchased a simple set of O rings, but realized I did ordered the incorrect items. No problem, right? I contacted them via email requesting to cancel and was told I would pay a 35% cancellation fee. Okay, seems high, but it was a cheap part. I said I want to go forward with cancelling. They replied telling me that they would send a form over, but nothing happened after that. A few days later they shipped anyway. Great, now I have a part I don't need and I'm certain if I returned it, I would pay some exorbitant restock fee plus the shipping both ways. GMPartsDirect, you have lost me as a future customer over your unwillingness to be fair for your own gain. There are too many options out there to put up with this."
"BUYER BEWARE! So I needed a part for my Corvette and the local shops didn't carry it. So I went online and I thought we found it although a bit more expensive but I had no choice, showed that it was "in stock" but it still took several weeks to get it. Unfortunately, it was the wrong part but we didn't know because there weren't any illustrations or site diagrams on the part we needed (drivetrain related). Once we got it and opened the box we quickly realized it was wrong so we needed to return it. Submitted a return request and it took a few weeks to get that approved. They initially weren't going to refund the core until I made mention of it and then Kris Griffin replied and said they would adjust the AR to reflect the core and send me a return slip for the part. The email literally mentioned the entire initial amount but said I wouldn't be able to recoup the shipping charges which was fine with me, but never mentioned that I would be charged any restocking fee at all. Once the return was completed and processed that was when I was told there was a restocking fee. If you go look at their return policy it also doesn't make any reference to a 35% restocking fee either so I never thought that was going to be an issue at all but boy was I wrong! I own a few businesses so I understand the restocking fee but it's usually only 10% - 20% at max and it's always disclosed upfront! This wasn't the case in this situation. Never again will deal with them and I encourage everyone else to do the same!"
"I ordered some lug nuts. Long wait to get them. I sold the car. I never received the product. They charged me 35%, in small print on their site. Ripoff. These people are crooks. I will never order from them again!"
"DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY !!!!!!!"
"Without question the worst experience one can have. GM strike ended on 25 Oct 2019. I placed an order on 27 Nov 2019. All parts arrive at their site on 1-4-2020. On 2/7/2020 I call it quits. Can you believe they can't find the parts in their own supply shop? Story after story after story as to why they can't ship the part. First they tell you they want to make sure all the parts are in and in serviceable condition prior to shipment. Second they tell you the time lag is due to the GM strike. Third they tell you they're sending a ticket to have the parts inspected and shipped. Fourth they tell you how inundated they are with all the parts, to please bear with them. I unfortunately have. I actually believe they have a business model around cancelled orders, this way they can charge you a restocking fee (even if they can't find it in their own store). I have to wonder what kind of a bonus the parts manager gets, I can almost bet it equates to total amount of restocking fees they charge. Word to the wise STEER well clear of these blithering knucklenuts !! "
"Ordered a tail lamp assembly for an Escalade. The box seemed to be re-taped and shipped prior to me receiving. The tail lamp appeared to be new but the lens to the body of the light housing was not properly attached or glued together. Tried multiple times to contact by phone and email and no response. Purchased through pay pal and opened a case. "
"First, I'm not a review kind of guy but I decided to make a special exception for GMPartsDirect. This is a horrible company with terrible everything...customer service, follow-up and order status. If you need to reach them over the phone, forget about it. If you need to figure out the status of your 2 month old order, forget about it. Phone calls just ring and ring. Voicemails are never returned. Emails go unanswered. I had to cancel my credit card so that these jokers would not charge my card for the rotten order since I could not get anyone on the phone to cancel. For goodness sake, RUN!!!!!!!"
"I ordered a part for over $700.00 including two day expedited shipping. Two weeks later the part still had not arrived. I could not keep bumming rides so I found the part locally (for less money) and installed it. I opened a help ticket on the website and got an automated response that the ticked was being processed. 7 days later FEDEX notified me that the part was being scheduled for delivery. I called the company and asked why they had not cancelled the order as I had requested a week earlier and they said they had not gotten to it yet due to the large number of emails they had received. I then told them I should not have to pay to ship it back since they had failed to process my request for cancellation promptly. They told me I not only had to pay for the return shipping, I would have to pay a restocking fee of over $250.00. In disbelief I just hung up. This company is completely oblivious to the concept of customer satisfaction and they are so unethical they should not even be allowed to continue doing business!"
"Scam! They change part numbers after you order. Their customer service is beyond awful, impossible to reach by phone and they never answer emails. Lesson learned, READ REVIEWS before ordering.
