"Sent this company a Brand New Unopened In Box OG Nintendo Switch. After several days of “evaluating “ my device, which I do not see how, considering it was Brand New. They send me an email stating their new quote for selling it to them is for unopened products. My product was unopened, what are they talking about?? I have several emails from this company where their own employees were telling me it is being evaluated, over several days. I said. How long does it take to evaluate a New unopened box. Now, they are lowballing their offer claiming my device is open when they are the ones that opened it"
"Great communication! Fast tiurn-around. Awesome customer service. Fair price for my phones."
"All processes were smooth and fast. They responded to my questions quickly. I will trade with them again"
"Sold a 2018 iPad Pro. Process was very simple and easy. They gave me an online quote at least $100 more than anywhere else. Took about a week to send in the iPad and have it tested and received payment same day that it was tested.
Only complaint is that I chose gift card as the payment method and wasn’t told that they only come is $25 increments so there is some leftover money that I now can’t spend. "
"I have done a few transactions with gadget gone. Each time has been very easy and the payout has been quick. They had the best offers and made the process very easy. "
"I have traded in several devices over the years to GadgetGone and they have always been more than fair with their pricing and they always work with you to get the best price possible. I once even had them give me more than I asked for when they determined that the device was in better condition than I had originally said for the quote. I highly recommend GadgetGone!"
"I have seen many anecdotal reports of people reporting shady experiences with selling a device to Gadget Gone despite overall good reviews out there. I just wanted to add my experience as something very fishy is going on with them.Normally instant offer places like this give you a much lower offer than you'd get selling a used device yourself using something like Swappa.com. I was lured in by Gadget Gone by an amazing offer on my good condition phone. They offered me an instant $292 for my phone, the same price or better that I would have gotten if I'd gone through the hassle of selling it myself on Swappa. Tempted by not having to deal with creating a Swappa post, taking photos, paying a seller fee, postage, etc - I took the lazy way out and accepted their offer. Big mistake.
I am no stranger to selling used phones online. I am a phone reseller myself and am very protective of my seller rating on places like Swappa and eBay. So I am always very careful to appropriately grade the condition of my devices. Before offering my phone to Gadget Gone, I inspected my phone thoroughly to make sure it met their standards for "good condition". The one thing I did not do, however, was take any photos of the phone. The whole reason I went with an instant buyer like Gadget Gone was to avoid having to worry about all that (this is what I get for being lazy, I know).
Anyways, I send my phone in to Gadget Gone and about a week later I get an email saying that my phone has "heavy scratching" and they are now only offering me $175 for the phone. They sent me photos of a phone with scratches and sure enough - there were heavy scratches as if someone took a hard object and scratched back and forth on the screen. These scratches would have been perfectly obvious to me when inspecting and certainly would have been felt when using the device. They were not there when I mailed the phone in. Like I said, I failed to take any photos of my device before sending it in, so I had nothing to argue with. They offered to send the phone back to me - but the phone was no longer in the condition I sent it in. I also have no proof that the phone they sent me photos of was actually my phone. They sent a photo of the "About Phone" page showing the IMEI number of my phone, but with the screen on like that the scratches were not visible. It is entirely possible they sent me a photo of my phone's "About Phone" page and then photos of a different, scratched phone.
So please continue to listen to the stories of this shady company. I highly suggest you go elsewhere. Or, if you do sell your phone to them - take photos first. I will say I did ultimately receive payment - far, far less than originally promised."
"It took them 8 days after delivery to get to my product, so definitely don't be in a hurry. Then they claimed my device had more wear than average, which i had indicated. Shocker they lowered the quoted price. They were able to convey all this info via email, but could not include a single photo? "Let me check with ops team and get back to you". I would not do business with them again."
"These people will give you a quote through their website and not honor it! They quoted me almost $200 for 2 devices (Apple Watches). After evaluation they offered to give me a total of $60 saying that my devices had “deep scratching”. As I read the reviews I see this is a common tactic used by this company to devalue peoples devices. My watches did not have deep scratching at all. Secondly it takes weeks to hear back from them. They do not process the evaluations within a timely manner. So don’t expect to receive your funds right away, and most certainly don’t expect to receive what is quoted. They will destroy your device or find a minimal issue and take pictures in a particular lighting to try to exaggerate its conditions. I DO NOT Recommend Selling your devices with this company. Research a few more before hand. "
"I compared companies and these guys offered the most for my phone. Quick and easy. "
"Very easy and quick! The process to verify the details was also very quick! Will definitely use GadgetGone again!"
"I sent my item in and was updated within a few days of its status. The payment arrived promptly and as promised. I would not hesitate to use them again in the future. "
"I was quoted $205. They emailed saying that they found the screen full of scratches, they included pictures that were not of my phone screen and they offered me $100. I responded by telling them that it was impossible for my phone to have any scratches on the screen because it was given a tempered glass screen protector right out of the box and it was barely ever used as it was our family spare phone that was for when one of our phones was broken or being upgraded. Not only that, I closely inspected the phone when I prepared it for shipping out. They responded with another offer of a few more dollars, but still way short of the original offer. I proceeded to ask for my phone back and they obliged. I decided to send it to Apple, who also quoted me the same price of $205. Apple issued me the full amount of $205 after they inspected my flawless phone. If you have a flawless iPhone, Apple has the integrity to be honest about it, but Gadget Gone does not. They will even go so far as to send you pictures of some scratches on a screen and try to tell you that it’s yours. I wish that there was a way for me to include the pictures that they sent me. These guys cannot be trusted. "
"I was a little hesitant to send off my old cellphone to a company that I had never heard of and I had never before gone through the equipment recycling process. Everything worked better than I could ever hope for (and better than most business experiences work these days). I was notified when the equipment arrived at GadgetGone and told what to expect in terms of timing for evaluation and payment. Communications were efficient but friendly. I actually received a higher evaluation of and payment for the cellphone returned. I very much recommend this service to anyone that needs to recycle the types of equipment that the company handles. This was truly an excellent experience!"
"Professional. Very fair. Definitely the place I will use for my old iPhones etc. "
