"I have been a loyal customer since 2005 with over 30 digital downloads/purchases.
Recently I was playing Civ V on Steam and noticed that HoMM VI was due out in September but if you pre-ordered the game you can participate in the Beta till release.
So I logged out of Steam and went to D2D to order HoMM VI, which happens to be one of my top three game series of all time, and waited till the download was complete.
Unfortunately, D2D wasnt releasing the "Key Code" for the game until the public release date in September. I was disappointed and initiated a customer service number which is the reason why they sent me to Reseller Ratings through the email.
I was contacted swiftly by rep Kat. She told me "at this time we are NOT participating in the Beta of HoMM VI and apologized. I asked her to make sure this issue went up the chain of command and she reassured me that it would.
Overall, D2D has been a trail blazer of digital downloads for many years with top notch CS. Unfortunately, they dropped the ball on HoMM VI and was concerned that this would be a trend now that Game Fly took over the company.
I will continue to be a loyal customer to D2D as long as they continue to be the leading industry standard that all other digital download company's mimic.
I hope that this is a hiccup and not a trend."
"GameFly (was Direct2Disc) does not honor requests to be removed from their mailing lists. I've fully utilized their "Unsubscribe" function on several occasions, waited for a few weeks, then noted that I'm still getting unwanted email SPAM. To make things worse, GameFly sends four copies of the same SPAM message every time. Attempts at direct contact with a live person at this company is futile.
I gather from many, many review sites that this company has a horrible customer service reputation. Avoid GameFly if you want to protect your privacy."
"I can't say too many good things about Direct2Drive. The game downloads have been fast, accurate and easy to install. The few times I have needed to communicate with support have also been effort free. Their responses to any questions/issues I had were fast and easy to understand. I would recommend Direct2Drive to anyone."
"Ran into some difficulties trying to gift a purchase, but with the help of customer Service, we were able to get the issue resolved in a matter of hours. Overall a positive experience despite the initial frustration."
"I had a slight hiccup when I initially made my order, but the turn around on their customer service department was really fast. They informed me of the issue right away and told me as soon as it was fixed, allowing me to order my game right away."
"This is the company with worse customer service than no service. In response to a game that would not run after downloading and installation, the response was:

Solution:
Hi there!
We are selling games, not online games. We sell the same as the store that sells cdroms.
Please seek support for in game issues just as you would if you have a cdrom. The support is provided by the game publisher.
BestBuy cashiers will ask you to do the same, your appliances have a support vendor that you call and that is not the BestBuy cashier.
Thank you !"
"There was a bug in the system that prohibited me from accessing my purchase. It kept telling me that my IP address was country locked. My issue was handled in a professional and timely manner and after a few short days I was able to get my game and download it. The download worked best with their download manager."
"Direct2Drive has the worst customer service of ANY online site I have ever experienced. They advertise a Price Match Guarantee, but refuse to match their own discount the day after you make a purchase. Normally I wouldn't care, but discounting a game $20 after I had purchased 3 ($60 loss on my part) and refusing to give direct2drive credit? That equals bad service. It took me 4 attempts to get an answer from them that even attempted to address the issue. They are simply put, RUDE, and offer no service."
"D2D is a great site to buy games they have very good prices. awsome sales cheaper than other sites.I have had many problems getting games to run on this pc customer service has always found the answers i needed to make my games run. they are always courtias and very helpfull."
"went to order sims 3 for my mac, and when I did, it apparently was the windows version of the game (though I clearly was shopping in the 'mac games') tab. Their automated support service is slightly disappointing, as It's been several hours since I opened a ticket, and the ticket is still 'queued'. Will see if it gets better, but 7 hours to wait for a response seems awfully slow. As well, there's no telephone number to contact, so one can't even call for assistance. Download was awfully slow, and took the better part of two hours. Oddly enough, I had recently downloaded Civ 4 from another online outlet, and it took about 45 minutes to download, so half the time.
Updated: Almost 12 hours since my ticket, it's still sitting in a 'queue'. Apparently they don't have weekend hours (which you couldn't tell, their site doesn't list hours of operation.)

"AAAA++ Superb, suport and store are maximum"
"User friendly website. Easy to order and download games. Great selection of titles for PC platform."
"I have purchased many games from Direct2Drive and each and every time I have been very satisfied with the results. The download speeds were excellent and never had any interruptions.
I will be making more purchases in the future from Direct2Drive without a doubt."
"Nice service, fast and clear. All the problems has been solved before the release date."
"Bought Brink accidentally at full price when I was trying to enter a promo code. Buyer beware, pressing the enter key with the promo code entered into the box (with the cursor still flashing as well, I might add) will go ahead and purchase the items! Have an open ticket with support now and I've only gotten automated messages that are useless so far. Haven;t even had a CS rep contact me since opening my ticket Tuesday night (now Thursday, mid-day) TERRIBLE response time! At this rate I won't even be able to get the refund I'm asking for not on my fault but theirs for they're long response times (site says a refund can be given within 48hours of purchase as long as the game hasn't been downloaded, the cd-key used, or you viewing/having seen the cd-key...all of which I haven't done).
I'm doubting this will even get responded to anytime soon. If need be I will place a charge back on my card. This is all really sad as I have had zero problems with D2D before, but now am questioning even using them again.
My advice to you, D2D is to have a order confirmation page shown with the final total clearly shown like many other stores have before you process an order, the way your current ordering process is set-up easily allows errors like these to happen."
