"GateCrafters does not stand behind their parts. I purchased a part for a LiftMaster LA400 gate operator which was defective. GateCrafter would not let me return it and said it was a warranty issue with LiftMaster. Contacted LiftMaster, who stated they do not warrant component level for gate operators. I'm stuck with a broken gate operator with no assistance from GateCrafter."
"I want to leave this review based on my factual experience with GateCrafter! Anyone who reads this review and other reviews on this company should decide rather to use GateCrafters or not.
To begin, I purchased a double gate and universal gate aculater April 18th 2022 I was told by the salewoman who sold me the products, that the fence will take a month or 2 to be shipped, but that the gate aculater would ship mid may. On June 2nd I called the sales woman and left a message "asking where we are on my order, no return call", ok I thought, maybe she is on vacation. I let a week go by and called back on June 8th no answer went voicemail. Well, after reading the complaints about GateCrafter I decided to call my credit card company and have disputed this charge AND HAVE RECEIVED CREDIT. I have to wonder if Gate Crafters is out of business I don't know this for a fact, but something is not right.
In closing again, please make your own decision about this company, I just wanted to share my factual eperience with them. I will be going with another company!

"I placed my order with Mike McBee on 9/1/21. When my shipment
arrived, and I checked it, I was 2 single button transmitters short. I
called, and spoke with Mike to report the issue. He seemed to not really care, and
said I was out of luck. I tried to speak with Judy Luciana, and Tony Gaeto, and could not
get a response. So for 25 dollars they are willing to accept a bad review. I wish I would have only
read their reviews 1st. I'm not the 1st customer they have ripped off. I spent 2500 dollars which included the 2 transmitters I didn't receive. You would think that sending me the transmitters would not have been a problem, but that did not happen."

"Their tech support said problem with our gate was a control board; we ordered it, installed it and it didn't work, called tech support they said oh no you don't need a control board you need a motor, what a total scam company deliberately selling you one thing and you don't need it and trying to sell you something else I tried returning the control board and they say oh no you can't return Electronics, BUT..nowhere nowhere on their web pages does it say anything about a return policy and no refunds. What a bunch of crooks!!!!"

"Purchased an expensive telecom announcement system that failed during warranty. Returned to gatecrafters for repair/refurbish after obtaining required warranty authorization from the manufacturer. Then nothing. Calls were not answered and received multiple excuses when I was actually able to contact my sales agent. Now over a year later I'm still without my (expensive) unit. I would have taken it to a local shop for repair had I known this would occur. They are happy to sell you something, but are incapable of any product support should things go awry. Save big headaches and shop elsewhere."
"Very fast shipping. I madeGatecrafters believes that customer service is dismissing complaints and then putting much more effort into erasing the bad reviews that follow instead of acting to settle those disputes.
Some months ago I had a dispute with Gatecrafters about returning a part that would not fit my gate controller.
They would not help me. Ignored emails, refused to consider my request when I called their support number.
Then I discovered that while they dismiss customer complaints, they devote a great deal of energy into blocking negative reviews.
Shortly after my 1 star review was posted, they used a review cleaning service to try to delete it. The service demanded 2 separate edits before letting it remain posted.
Now several months later they made a new attempt to silence my review- THEY CLAIMED THAT THEY HAD NO RECORD THAT I BOUGHT ANYTHING FROM THEM.
I actually had to provide an order confirmation and invoice to prove that.
Disgraceful. an ordering error, returned the opener and they had a replacement unit in my hands within 10 days; round trip.

"Was very complicated to order. Customer service does not communicate very well about orders and products. The quality for the price is poor. Welds are gate joints are ugly. The welder night not have used the correct shielding gas for the aluminum frame. The welds are rough and ark burnt. Also they provided cans of paint to spray paint the frames and post. For the price I would have thought they would have done that. Plus most people do not have a facility to spray paint large objects. For me in California it can be an issue. For the price I would have a local builder do it next time. Also from order to reviving was about 6-7 weeks. Really slow. "
"I've had a very frustrating experience with this company. The woman that answers the phone is relatively rude and help is difficult to get. They advertise great hours for technical support (and do have a number of very helpful videos), but it is TOUGH to get someone on the line. Called today (Saturday) for help (supposed to have technical support available from 9am-9pm), but was told to call back on Monday, no one is available. This isn't the first time this has happened. Even if they are working, expect a very long wait on the phone. The torn part is, when you actually do speak with a tech support person, they are fairly helpful and good to deal with.
BTW, bought an Estate Swing ES 1000D (solar) gate opener. Have had NOTHING but trouble with it! Over $1000 and I've had to basically replace (at my expense) the whole unit. Says it offers a 5 year warranty, but not good on anything electrical (which is basically the entire system, including the motor, switches, electrical panel, solar panel... I asked what exactly does it cover and the receptionist said things like the screws!!"
"Bought $1500 gate opener, switching it out within 30 days for a larger model and they hit me with a 15% restocking fee. Spending more money with them and they still hit me with a fee for a slightly damaged box. Complete scam. I'll never recommend this place to anyone"
"We ordered a gate system in July 2018. Since then all but one part has had to be sent back. They currently have had the operating arm for warranty work for 8 weeks. When following up with the company, they have sent it to the wrong manufacturer, the tech has been on vacation for two weeks and out of office for the day every other time we have called. Customer service reps have been rude, and management has set the tone for them. Things can go wrong, but it's how a company handles those things that make the difference. Knowing what I know now, I wish I had never made the purchase."
"Bought a belt driven gate opener for around $500. Worked for a short while then got damaged in a hail storm. Took a long time (and a big fight) to get a new cover and circuit board out of them, had to pay because of course "hail damage is not covered under warranty". The first circuit board they sent me got wet because the shipper threw it over my gate when I was on vacation and it lay in my driveway for a week. I sent it back and the company pretended they did not get it. I had the mail tracking info so that put an end to that trick. The second one was the wrong board. I sent that back as well. After living without a working gate for months, they finally produced the correct circuit board and it worked ... for a while. After a month or so, it just stopped working for no good reason. These are $200 boards so this was starting to get old. And then, the icing on the cake was them telling me they no longer stocked this circuit board and I would have to buy an entirely new gate operator for another $500. And it doesn't end there. When I wrote a review on "Trust Pilot", the company got it taken down because they said "Chinese Junk" was offensive. So I rewrote it. Then they had it taken down again because they said I wasn't a real customer. I sent "Trust Pilot" a scan of the actual invoice. "Trust Pilot" said that did not suffice, they need a PDF of the invoice. Well you can't create a PDF from a piece of paper so it seems "Trust Pilot" is really a fake review service."
