"I ordered a $6,000 Christian Dior watch for my wife from Gemnation for Christmas. After placing my order, I called a few days later to check on status and was told it would ship in 2-3 days. 2 days later I received a notification that my package had shipped. Four days later FedEx still did not show it as picked up. I called in to ask what was going on and was assured it was packed and ready to go that day and should see it by 6:30 pm that evening.

The next morning FedEx still did not have it. I wrote an email which was ignored all day long. I then wrote another email at the end of the day asking why they hadn't even responded. This time I was told that they somehow lost the watch in their warehouse and it was on backorder so they would not be able to get this watch for me. They instead tried to pawn off their currently in stock models on me instead. After refusal, they did immediately refund my money. Of course too late to order the watch from the other places I was considering in time for Christmas

Something clearly shady is going on at this place. I was lied to by at least one person based on the different stories I received. Furthermore, how do you lose a $6,000 watch in your warehouse? What sort of tracking policy allows for that? I don't know what happened and I never will but I do know that it is now a week from Christmas and I don't have a present due to this places business tactics. Not sure if the idea is a bait and switch or what. Clearly other people are happy with this place but I would never trust them with another dime of my money again.

"First, the price was fantastic. Initially, I suspected that the watch was used or a floor display but boy, was I surprised!! The watch was brand-spanking new & the warranty was filled out. "I am very unhappy with the service I received at Gemnation. I ordered a watch for my girlfriend and she didn't want the kind I got her, so we called for an RMA number, which never arrived. I wanted to return it the day I called but they wouldn't give the RMA number over the phone. I was out of town for the next few weeks and upon returning, I called to find out where the RMA number was or to try and get it over the phone. At that point, they told me that it was too late and that there was nothing they could do for me because the watch should have been returned within 30 days. Let me point out the return policy as copied from their website: "WATCHES
Watches must be returned to us in brand new, unworn and undamaged condition. Unless you are certain that you are keeping the watch, do not remove any protective coverings, have the watch strap or bracelet resized, or wear the watch. Wristwatches are subject to a 10% re-stocking fee in ALL CASES. This restocking fee is charged when the item is returned and authenticated to be in new, unworn, and undamaged condition. Additional charges may be incurred, or refund refused (and item returned to customer at customer's expense) if the watch is returned in damaged condition.
" I don't see anything about a 30 day requirement. Even so, although the watch wasn't returned within 30 days, I called to get the RMA before the 30 day period. I thought they would work with me. I spoke to a manager and was basically told that there is nothing I can do.

So, if you order from this website, make sure that you want what you order and that if you don't want it when you get it, that you call back repetitively until you recieve an RMA number so that you can return it.



****RESPONSE TO GEMNATION'S REPLY*******

It should be pretty clear from Gemnation's reply that their customer service is lacking. If you look at other reviews for this company you'll see the same type of reply from them. It is true that anyone can say anything on these sites...but honestly, that's a good thing. It allows people to share their opinions and experiences without having them filtered so that only the decent reviews are shown.

Customer service should be every company's priority. What is an extra couple weeks to a company...especially since they charge a restocking fee? Had the Gemnation manager said, "I see that you requested an RMA number prior to 30 days. Let me go ahead an resend that same number to you and we can get you set up for a return.", I would have posted a positive rating on this website. That, my friend, would have been wonderful customer service!!! Instead, I posted a review of my experience and you see the response that they gave which is similar to what they told me on the phone. I'm not saying that you shouldn't buy a watch from this company because the prices do seem to be the best. All I'm saying is that their customer service could, in my opinion, be a lot better. Make of that what you will.

"In my review I would like to focus on Gemnation’s excellent and outstanding service an issue which many online buyers (as I was) are usually concerned about, specifically when you purchase an expensive item such as watch or jewelry online. I would like to assure anyone who considers buying from Gemnation that you that you could feel absolutely relaxed about purchasing from Gemnation. I purchased a Movado watch on Gemnation’s website on the 3rd of December 2010 as a surprise birthday for my wife. Unfortunately, my wife didn’t like the watch. I returned the watch following the exact instructions on Gemnation’s webite (which I encourage you to read carefully) and was extremely satisfied with the way Gemnation handled my case. They were responsive, sensitive and provided me with full refund. Their quality of service is outstanding even when compared to conventional retail stores. If there was a Sixth star on service I would definitely have given them that one too."

"I ordered a Jaeger Le Coultre Reverso watch. It did not have the anthenticity certification inside from Manufacturer. Not even tag and number on box as all JLC watch usually have. I called them and complained. They said the watch doesn't come with any certificate or whatever! But then I called Jaeger Le Coultre and they told me it was more than strange and suggested to have the watch opened to check the movement number. And from Gemnation they just told me that I could return it but with a big cost. The think is that without any certification and sticker I cannot even sell it.
As the watch also stops every 6 hours (instead of 40!) I fear it can be a very good replica watch. What a pity. Any suggestions?
- as reply to Gemnation commnent I can say I have email messages (11/9/2009) in which I complained and their written answer was: "We received this watch from our supplier with this exact box and no additional paperwork was received either, according to the information we have this model will not come with any additional certificate even if you purchase it directly from an authorized dealer.
If you wish you can return this watch for a credit but please note that there is a 10% restocking fee".

"I am a new customer to Gem Nation, but I will be back. My initial email question was answered promptly and courteously. My order was easy to do on their website. For those who don't know, they also offer Amazon Checkout and Google Checkout in addition to their own Checkout. It was easy to enter all my information. "Unfortunately I wasn't able to make a purchase through gemnation because my (foreign) credit card couldn't be approved. For an extra charge of
about $ 86,00 I would have expected some more efforts on gemnations side...Nevertheless I got my
desired watch from an authorized dealer, paying with that exact credit card, now. And guess what: the dealer met gemnations price!
My suggestion: Ask your local merchants before getting into the online hazzle.

"I ordered a longines watch to wear to my graduate ceremony on monday August 10 2009 after 2 days waiting , i hear nothing from them so I emailed them to ask for my order status, i got reply from Alex said the watch i ordered is current unavailable and asked if i cancel the order or pick the difference model with extra discount, i go to the gemnation website i see the watch still in stock and will ship thursday if order today wednesday and the price is rising from 862.50 to 930 dollars. I dont know what going on ? they lie or try to scam customer?"
