"I made an error while booking (30 minutes prior) and they would not make a change. They have a NO REFUND POLICY. I had to keep the booking and pay and ADDITIONAL $150 USD to check in.
I thought I was booked through the hotel website, but I was redirected to this site.
SCAM. They’re not doing anything you can’t do yourself, and you can do it properly.

"# R4383810761 Getaroom.com this company is an absolute scam! Thought I was booking through the hotel, but actually it was through Getaroom.com. I immediately cancelled the booking in 1 hour. Called several times to ask where my refund was, only to be told, " there is no refund" I am absolutely furious! I paid €7.458,19 for NOTHING! I got official letter from the hotel, the letter clearly confirm that the booking number R4383810761 with Getaroom has been cancelled on 9 August and the hotel has never charged anything. So the hotel said I can claim the refund. Hotels should watch who they partner with. I show the evidence to Getaroom.com. but this company still refused to refund. Getaroom.com is an absolute scam!"
"This was a scam. They pretended to be the hotel."
"DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
Do not use this company! The company is a scam and impossible to work with. I booked a room for my daughters college graduation on what I thought was the Omni’s website, and without knowing was directed to a third party website. I was charged for two rooms (I only booked one) for $964.38 each. The confirmation email came from hotelvalues.com, yet the billing showed up on my credit card as getaroom.com. I called to cancel the reservation that was clearly a double booking and to change the dates by one day (from Thursday-Saturday to Wednesday-Friday) on the second reservation. I was told that both reservations were non refundable and could not be altered. They referred to themselves as a ‘travel agent’, which is comical! I called the Omni directly and was told the could not help me as this booking was through a third party. I called American Express who researched the charge and was told that the company’s charges could not be disputed. They are on some Amex list that prevents any disputed charges. I am stuck paying for a room that I did not book and for another room that I simply wanted to move the dates by one day. I believe this company is scamming people by portraying themselves as a hotel chain, not a third party, and recommend avoiding their website completely!"
"Horrible customer service and overpriced "
"I thought I was booking a rook directly through the hotel website. As I was finishing my reservation I was asked to type in a code that was texted to me, I X'd out of the code prompt after seeing the full price and was charged anyway. I tried to call and cancel and was told no refund despite being 2 month's out because it is the hotel's policy. I called the hotel and they confirmed that is incorrect. I later received an email from the Getaroom.com service rep that came from a different URL that suspiciously looked like it came from a Priceline URL. I was wrongfully charged, lied to, and then received a very suspicious email from their service rep."
"I would have given it ZERO, but @ least on star is required. This website is 100% a TOTAL SCAM. As others stated you think you are booking directly thru the hotel's website @ a reasonable nightly rate & then @ "checkout" the rate basically doubles, shows it is getaroom, states billing right away & NON returnable!!! Upon seeing this, I immediately called to canx...as well as called & alerted AMEX. I was on hold for an exceptionally LONG time. When a rep did finally come back (& who was clearly an answering service for them), she told me she could offer me a one time 10% discount to keep the booking...which I refused & told her this is canx. They sent me an email on 1/18/2023 stating "it was a pleasure assisting me today & look forward to supporting future travel plans". What assistance did I receive from that call? I wrote back stating, this is a scam & the reservation needs to be canx. On 2/20/2023 over ONE month later & 7 days before my original arrival date, I rec'd the following email from them:
Thank you for contacting Customer Care. The reservation is non-refundable and the cancellation is subject to the following penalty $2,150.14. Due to the circumstances, we will reach out to our hotel partner and request a penalty waiver on behalf of our mutual customer. In order to request for penalty waiver, we will require to cancel this reservation under non-refundable cancellation policy.
Please note the $2,150.14 was the FULL amount of the original booking!!! So now, they want to charge me $2,150.14 to cancel -- as a COURTESY! I assume the language is written in such a way so I might be inclined to just accept. This is FRAUDULENT!
This organization needs to be reported to BBB as well as local AG's for state/federal investigation to prevent other customer's from being subjected to these predatory practices. Also, all hotel chains need to be aware to stop them from misusing their marque brand names. This behaviour damages the entire travel industry. I read they are affiliated with Priceline...hard to believe they would approve of these business tactics.
Again, PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT USE!!!!
If you do, call/email them & have a paper trail...but most importantly contact your credit card company & alert that the charge is NOT authorized.

"Horrible . They did not let you know the service fee added on after confirmed for reservation non-refund."
"I thought I was booking with the same hotel I stay in year after year, so it looked legit. I was unknowingly redirected to this site. The total room charge was just over $2,200. The total fees was over $1,200. I immediately tried to cancel the room, hoping for a refund. Apparently it was non-refundable. I'm older and not as savvy so I wasn't aware. I called customer service. they told me I was out of luck. I'm still on hold with them. It's been over a half an hour. I also filed a BBB complaint for the outrageous fees."
"I was in New Delhi for business and lost my passport. Then I was refused into the hotel I booked prior to my trip - so I needed an alternative. I phoned get aroom.com, explained the situation and they assured me they could book me into a hotel without passport (I did have a drivers license, a paper copy of the passport and my visa). When I got there I was refused entrance. They threw me on the streets. Three days later they charged my creditcard for the full amount.
I contacted them for a refund. They refused. Taking it one step further now but.. it is strange that the call center people that make your booking are not up to date with rules and regulations or may be they are and this is a way of making easy money. Never again. "
"They have a ton of hidden fees that don't show until after your payment goes through plus no refunds and bad customer service"
"I do not recommend this page at all, it is very misleading and charges exaggerated amounts for service. In a hotel that charges $240 a night including taxes, they charged me almost $325. In addition, I went to the hotel's page and I don't know how deceptively they do to remote direct it to their page. In addition, they do not have a telephone number where a person answers you, there is no way. never buy there, they have no intention to solve the problems"
"Dishonest company over charges false advertisement and terrible customer service"
"I tried booking a room at one hotel and they placed me somewhere else and refused to refund me for their mistake. DO NOT USE!!!!"
"My husband made a reservation and made a mistake. Alos 5 minutes of having made the reservation called direct Holiday Inn of Miami Bayside to cancel and it is funny because they told him that to cancel it he had to have called 48 hours before, as if he had just made the reservation anyway I wrote to the corporation and according to them they returned the money to getaroom, but these people are going to keep the money for them because they are applying the rule of cancelarion so the hotel return without any problem and getaroom they want to keep my money people very careful with these people if you make a mistake you will know that you have lost your money"
