"I was scammed by this travel website. I typed in Hampton Inn & Suites No. Boulder in Google. The first line that came up included a photo of the hotel and said "click here for reservations." I thought I was on the hotel's direct website. There was no grand total shown when I entered my credit card information. Two minutes later I received an e-mail from getaroom.com with a bottom line total of $2560. I was charged $892.81 for a 7 night stay that totaled $1667.78. I immediately called the customer service number for getaroom.com and was told that I booked a non-refundable reservation and nothing could be done.
1. I called the hotel directly and was quoted the exact same room rate as getaroom.com.
2. I booked this reservation on January 29, 2022, Sunday at 9:00pm for a trip on May 5, 2022 five months later. I did not try to cancel the reservation last minute.

The confirmation stated their cancellation policy followed the hotels policy When i that out to them they didn't respond They policy of the hotel was 24 hr. cancellation no fees. "5/27 my wife booked us 3 nights at the Marriott SF Fisherman's Warf for August. When she sent me the confirmation, I fell out of my chair. $1800 USD per night? I called the hotel and booked directly at $330 USD per night. My wife immediately phoned getaroom.com and they told her she needed to cancel the reservation on 5/25, 2 days before she booked. I searched online for a hotel, using my smartphone, and inquired into the price of a location by opening what I thought was a link to a hotel.
Before I knew it, a confirmation was being created by GETAROOM.
I closed the app and expected the that no reservation was made.
A few days later, I saw in iCalendar that I had an upcoming reservation - I opened the email address in the calendar and was shocked that I was charged (pre-paid) for a room, to the tune of over $700.00 for two nights!
I don't stay in pricey places such as that because I am on a restricted budget and when I contacted Getaroom, they told me I was responsible for paying one-night, plus tax ($389.89).
I've been going back and forth with Getaroom, which has been troubling to say the least.
I've spoken with no less than five GETAROOM representatives to date.
It feels like they simply want to wait until you get tired of saying the same things over and over and you abandon your request for a full refund.
GETAROOM's website is organized in a manner that will charge you simply for inquiring about a price.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS WEBSITE, otherwise it could be an expensive mistake.
I will update this post if GETAROOM decides to do what is right and return the money they took in an unforthcoming (sneaky) manner."
"Do NOT book through GetARoom.com. They use shady practices where you believe you are clicking on the hotel site. They also book hotels that do not have rooms available. For us, we booked a room which wasn't available in Athens, TN. We called them within 10 minutes and they stated they would process a refund but it would be 3-5 days before we received it "depending on our financial institution" I called 5 business days later, they stated it's already in process and I needed to wait another 3-5 days. I called back 3 business days later and was told "they have a new process and it wasn't processed correctly. You need to wait another 3-5 business days." Each time waiting and being placed on hold multiple times. IT IS A SCAM!!! Read reviews, it's the same story over and over."

"I was online looking at an Embassy Suites website looking to reserve a room a weekend in May. I was unknowingly redirected to a third party website getaroom. The scary thing is the page didn’t change other than to go to the page to select the dates of my stay. I looked at room rates and selected a room. I was then given a tentative reservation. The website never disclosed fees and taxes and certainly never had a place to check to accept terms and conditions. I then realize they had FRAUDULENTLY charged my debit card twice for the same reservation. The taxes and fees were ridiculous. I called immediately when I saw the pending FRAUDULENT charges and asked for a full refund of BOTH CHARGES. I explained to the very rude customer service agent that I never booked two rooms for the same weekend. He explained to me that I would not receive a refund. I then said to him you STOLE my debit card information and charged me twice. The only response from him was that I was being recorded. I said good!!!! I have since filed an official complaint with the Texas Attorney General, and the local Dallas, TX BBB and my local bank is also investigating these FRAUDULENT activities. The enormous number of negative reviews along with the amount of money they stole from others under the same circumstances is criminal. This company should not be allowed to operate online or locally. Here is the breakdown of what they owe me. Two rooms totaling 1,291.26. I will not stop until I get a FULL REFUND. Not only was money stolen from me I did not have a reservation matching any of the reservation confirmation numbers they emailed me. I DEMAND A FULL REFUND."
"We thought we were booking straight with the hotel, because getaroom made it look that way, within five minutes we realized that we had made a mistake and canceled the reservations. They refused to give us $780 of our money back for a five minute mistake. When I called to reinstate the reservation opposed to loosing that much money, they said that wasn't possible. "I thought I was booking a two night stay directly with the Hampton Inn, turns out it was through getaroom. I called the hotel to change to a one night stay, and that's when I found out I had booked through a third party vendor. So I called this vendor to change the reservation to a one night stay, and they refused to refund me, which fine print aside, would have been fine, except that I didn't even know I was booking through getaroom in the first place. Who the hell are you folks and why pretend to be the hotel?
