"If you have a simple prescription then you might like this product. If there is anything slightly custom about your prescription, then RUN RUN AWAY FAST. I ordered a pair of reading glasses and a pair of distance glasses for a very reasonable price. I uploaded my prescription which included prisms in both lenses to correct my double vision. I was charged an additional $40 for the prisms in both eyes, both pairs. The glasses came without prisms. I followed the company suggestion to work with them to resolve the issue and received another pair of eyeglasses that were wrong. Through the give and take I used up my 20 days with Pay Pal and now am out $66.30 plus shipping with three pairs of useless eyeglasses. I got the sense from corresponding with Rohit Kainth that they really don't know what they are doing.

"Ordered glasses with prescription lens, in particular on this site, as they stated they operated and made glasses w/ prescription on order in their US address. Though it would be quicker than other online eye-wear store that makes prescription lens.

Product ordering was simple and straightforward. Website is like any other e-commerce site with little to no errors. I started tracking on their website's tracking page, which is misleading. Talked to their online customer service, who lied about USPS having possession of my package and that it left GlobalEyeglasses, and then changing her story after I confirmed with USPS of their receipt-CSR also stated she did not know and had to ask her shipping department at night to find out accurate status of order. That was not the case and later found out that GlobalEyeglasses sat on my glasses for 2-3 days before actually handing it over to USPS for shipment (although it states on their website that it was shipped earlier).

If they had shipped and handed over packaged item to USPS right after it is made, the turn-around time for receiving my item would be far less. Instead, I find out they utilize a cheap shipping method (USPS First Class-$2.50 for NY to CA) when I paid nearly $5 for shipping. Email their CSR and don't expect a reply. Much better to just buy from an online eye-wear retailer ships from China as it will take the same amount of time-some which are cheaper. Read BBB's review of this business as it is accurate.

UPDATE 1/7/11: just received glasses today in the mail. Packaging was in a small brown parcel-plastic case, enclosed is eyeglass with correct prescription lens rolled between more bubblewrap. Initial quality of the item is excellent for the price paid. Just wish that their internal processing time is reduced (for a company in the US) and that they actually have a Customer Service PROFESSIONAL that actually knows about his/her company and its' internal works while replying back to an email.

UPDATE 1/19/11: been just about a week and a half wearing this glasses daily. Unfortunately, my right ear or nose piece is digging into the skin a bit too much. Took it to several local optometrist to adjust and found out that one temple side is longer than the other (miniscule enough to overlook, but painful in wearing). They adjusted to the best of their ability to adjust, thereby contacted Customer Service through email on MON 1/17. Have not heard from anyone since then. Their customer service is non-existent. Prices seem a bit higher than some other online optical sellers. Simply put-not as cheap as other online optical sellers; no customer service. "

"I recently ordered 2 pair of glasses, one sunglasses and one with a gradient tint. The gradient tint is almost as dark as the sunglasses...not the 20% gradient ordered.
I have been dealing with the issue of "returning" my unsatisfactory order since Dec. 22 and the issue is still not resolved. Received email to take part in survey with the added comment to contact them before posting anything negative. Their resolution was for me to "order another" pair of glasses at a 25% discount. Be very wary of 100% customer satisfaction...I don't believe it exists here at this company."

Received an email offering a 20% discount a few days after I ordered; immediately emailed and asked for a price adjustment since I had not received the glasses but never got an answer. Global is not good with customer satisfaction. Most stores will give you a price adjustment if notified within 15 days."
