"They list items for sale that they do not have in stock, then give you are hard time about canceling the order and getting a refund. Order a DVD a week ago, and I only found out that they don't have it in stock when I called them. Their customer service gave me the run around telling me it "might be possible" to cancel and order for an item they don't have."

When the other games came, one did not work (damaged) and one had the correct game box with the wrong game inside. When you order Mario galaxy 2 you don't want a .50 cent Super mario brothers game that comes with the system. These guys won't honor their committment and probably resell your email info to spammers. "I go to the local Hastings store (don't shop with them online) so I can only review my experience of being a customer for over 12 years. I love Hastings. They have great prices on DVD rentals and a surprisingly sophisticated selection of books. I appreciate the fact that they stayed in business here and weathered the competition from Netflix and the Barnes and Noble bookstore (which shut its doors recently in our town). Love their late night hours, great selection of international films."
"Well I was hesitant to buy anything because of all the bad ratings, but since the movie I wanted was so cheap I decided to just go for it. I got my USED movie today and its in absolutely perfect condition. It looks like it was literally just opened and watched once then sold. Not a scratch on it and the dvd case was great. The movie came in less than a week so I'm happy. I will order from them again soon. The only thing that sucks is that a lot of things are out of stock but I'll just check back weekly."

"GoHastings ignores my emails to customer service everytime. Why would they even send out a game that looks like it went through a coffee grinder? I am sure that none of their used products are tested or even visually inspected. They always send incomplete items as well. Save yourself a headache and buy your stuff from a reputable seller. "

I reordered a few days later and they matched the original sale price of the canceled item. They have frequent sales on used games which are cheaper than Best Buy, GameFly and most others. "
"This company is systemically crooked. I'll never do business with them again. After buying some collectibles from them in the past (because of their prices, which sometimes are the best around), they've burned me too horribly on the recent transaction for me to ever trust them.
Here's my timeline:
12/26/11 - ordered collectible
1/3/12 (or thereabouts) - received it, in horrible condition (not just broken, but with parts missing, indicating they should've been aware of the problem before it left their warehouse). Contacted them via email, got a pre-paid label to return it. Did so as requested.
1/10/12 - Received email verifying that they got my returned item, and said they'd process the refund but that I should "give it time to clear"
1/22/12 (or thereabouts) - called them, frustrated that I had not yet received a refund. They claimed it was initiated on the 17th, and that I should wait a bit longer.
1/30/12 - called them again. First they acted like they couldn't find the order records, then claimed the refund went through on the 26th. I called Paypal (purchased the item with my Paypal debit card) to verify this, and they said no refund was ever processed. Paypal did a chargeback for me.
So in summary, gohastings sent me a horrible item, their customer service lied to me repeatedly, and they tried to steal from me.
