"My order was not received. When I contacted GoHastings, they said it had been cancelled (but had not seen fit to let me know). This was a Christmas gift that I was expecting to receive in time to gift. I have repeatedly tried to contact their customer service for further information but they will not respond to my inquiries."
"Their moto is selling in numbers who cares about individuals. Horrible I ordered grand babies Christmas on Dec. 6th rec'd on Dec. 23rd. Item missing a part and look like it is used. I had to go out in the crowds and shop anyway on 12/22/11. Beware if you read ratings on their site they are fixed. Plus you have to pay to grantee the return items. I am in the country which means I have to drive 18 miles to a post office to return it. They have no quality control and their site is fixed when it comes to ratings. And then you get to talk to Jessica from their customer service tell you how great they are and that they provide good service in a smart ellick way. To bad they don't record their people so they can hear their customer service skills. "
"Placed an order on Dec 16th and received it by December 19th!! It is the "hot" toy of the year, (Monster High Lagoona Blue Hydration Station) selling on Amazon for double the price and sold out in all the stores here in town. Paid what I would have in the store and got half off expedited shipping because they had a deal on it (paid $3.01 for shipping). Started to get worried after I placed the order after what I read on this site. Super fast shipping, came packaged in a cardboard box with packing material. Would definitely buy from them again."
"I ordered 19 wii games and only recieved 15 come to find out the package got lost these games was for christamas gifts and they can only refund me thats not good enough they need to do more i cant get over they take your order and money then you dont matter no more really sad They need to do more then refund that not going to help me give out the wii games for xmas if they were lost"
"Identical comment to many here. Free shipping advertised; but I was billed for shipping. Tried 2X by email, 2X voice to get them to adjust. On the 5th time, I asked to cancel. Then I called AmEx to dispute the charge. I have to wait until UPS attempts to deliver -- another week -- then the package may get back to their warehouse in another 2 weeks, then goHastings may get around to issuing a credit sometime in a month. Completely inappropriate level of customer response. SHAME on this outfit!"
"I'm floored by all these bad reviews for GoHastings! I have ordered from them three times now, mostly books, and have always received my orders promptly. I was charged correctly and the items were as expected."
"Placed an order online, review page said free shipping, clicked submit, order processed and confirmation page and charge to my credit card showed over $20 in shipping. Tried to email and they couldn't help, had to call. Called and they were utterly useless. To add insult to injury, customer service said I couldn't cancel the order because it was already processing. Terrible company. Don't do business with them!"
"gohastings is probably the worst customer service experience I've ever had with a store. This isn't hyperbole. Really horrible. After being assured (and given a CSR name and ref #) that my MW3 hardened edition wouldn't be cancelled, they ended up cancelling it. When I called them about it, they just said "Too bad, it was out of stock." The supervisor I ended up talking to didn't offer me anything for my troubles. When I asked about them giving me some sort of consolation, they offered me a $5 credit.
I don't often wish for bad things on anybody, but sincerely hope the worst for gohastings. "
"They seem perfectly fine to me, since I didn't have any problems ordering used Dark Souls (Xbox 360). My order shipped fast, I was notified, and I got tracking. "
"Go Hastings is ok for low cost items.
If you order a special version of a CD or DVD or game or whatever, most likly they will ship you the cheap version. This has happened to me twice with this company. The first time I paid $15 for an import CD and they sent me a BMG clearing house version(value $1). They refunded my money immediatly. The second time I ordered an audiophile CD for $65 and again they sent a BMG CD. It took 3 weeks to get my money back and only after I disputed the charge. Is it possible that there are less than honest people working in their shipping department? Perhaps they just don't know the difference between a $65 version of an item, and a $1 version."
"I will never buy from here again. I have 1 bad experience and this one experience has led me to this conclusion. I bought a Japanese comic from them, used, and expedited shipping on 8/31. By 9/6 I still hadn't gotten the email saying it shipped so I emailed customer service. I was told my order hasn't shipped because of availability. Really? Well why wasn't I informed of that beforehand? Then, on 9/7 I get an email saying my order was cancelled. Load of ****. I needed that ASAP and now I have to order it somewhere else cause these ***holes didn't inform me when they should have, that my product's availability was limited or that there was a problem with it."
"I ordered a cd from them they sent the wrong one, said i should re order it, i told them I ordered it with the 99cent shipping and she pretty much told me to bad, and if i dont like it to order form a different web site.
Very rude, when asked to speak with manager transfered me to a message machine.
WOW. very disappointed."
"I ordered 5 items from gohastings. One item got cancelled, the other four seemed to take for ever. After a few days I emailed and got a response the next day about why the one got sold. a LOT of complaints on here slam the fact that something was "in stock" when they ordered it, then became "Out of Stock" later, there is a reason. Hastings does not ship from a DC, the fact that the site says instock means at least ONE store in the company has ONE on hand, and if it sells, or got stolen, or whatever the case is, they do not know until they try to go pull it from the shelf. I would imagine during christmas this is a nightmare. Also the fact that stuff becomes in stock later means someone traded one in used at one of their stores. Hopefully that helps clear up why they are so indifferent from everyone else, they don;t actually have a centralized DC, instead whatever store has your item in stock pulls it off the shelf, packs it up and ships it right to you. While its neat to search a used inventory, it does suck if they only have one copy and it disappeared, but they have no idea until you basically send them to check on it. I got a good shipping promo plus on a sale, Im over all satisfied, only because i know why things happen they way they do now. I think its kinda neat to search used across all their stores online, saves time of driving around. Give 'em a shot, but have some patience and know that and item that got cancelled is more than likely not their fault (on purpose)."
"I ordered a DVD from GoHastings and was told it was out of stock. However, my transaction still went through and they have done nothing to refund my order. Anyone who actually wants what they ordered/payed for should avoid GoHastings."
"Over the last couple of dyad I ordered 6 used blu-rays from their website. They cancelled half of them telling me they were not in stock. Pretty low product delivery percentage from a site that charges an arm and a leg for delivery.
Moral of the story is - your order is treated as a mild suggestion for them to mull over. You never know what will actually be shipped, though they are in full control of your $$
Next time, I will do business with another seller."
