"My sister and I took this tour and we had a wonderful time. Our tour guide, Alex, was amazing and he went out of his way to make every day incredible. We saw so many fascinating sites and loved everything. The hotels were good and for two sisters sharing a bathroom they were large enough. There were only 15 of us in this group and it was wonderful to truly get to know our travel partners. If you have not experienced Spain, take this tour. You will not be disappointed."
"My 75th Anniversary D-Day Tour was amazing and I came away with a new sense of the Two Great Wars! The lives lost, the freedoms gained and a new sense of why each of us must continually educate ourselves as to the political climate both at home and globally. Freedom is not a given.
I have also gained several new friends, many Canadians and one American. Many laughs, thousands of photos and many shared stories."
"I loved our tour guide hala ! She kept everything fresh exciting and so informative at every site we went to. I can’t wait to take another tour!"
"From the beginning, our tour was fabulous. Kelsey was great in the office... the drive who picked us up at the airport was so informative. Our tour director greeted us when we arrived at the hotel. The hotels were clean, well located and meals were fabulous. Breakfast in England was the best of all the hotels but the coffee got better when we arrived in France. Oh the coffee....
I was in awe of all of the varied architecture throughout our tour. Ypres, Belgium was especially amazing. The Flemish style of buildings is something of fairy tales.
Our tour director is very knowledgeable and well organized. The local tour guides were excellent especially the guides in London and Belgium.
We appreciated all the unexpected stops especially The Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace, the visit to Omaha beach and Pegasus Bridge.
We opted for all of the excursions and our only disappointment was one of the excursions was cancelled because of participation levels. We met some new friends and the eight of us spent many hours together in our free time. There is time for free time, time to relax. At the lunch stops, you can dine or be like us and grab a snack at the Boulangerie and walk throughout the town/ city and see as much as we could take in. Bring good shoes. Bring your camera.
Our main bus driver was the best!!!!!! He could park a bus in a corner and turn it around on a dime. Absolutely amazing, courteous and conscientious!!
Vimy was ethereal. The Brooding Soldier was a reminder of the affects war had on the soldier.
I cried when I was on the beach at Dieppe. I walked alone outside the Passendaele museum. Tynecot Cemetery, I found my friend's great Uncle's grave and had the privilege of paying my respects. Sign the register where you can to let them know you were there.
The museums were fabulous. I will have to do this tour again.

"This was a great trip!
A mix of travel and vacation.
I have been on many EF Tours and they were all great.
However, This Go Ahead tour, in my mind, is a must do!

"It was a standard tour of Egypt's high points, the same trip as is featured in many tours. This tour featured a 'full house' of 35 people so moving to and from sites was sometimes a bit tedious. Also, the choice of properties was not as good as some others such as Insight in Turkey. The properties were not first rate (except food and service on cruise). Tour guide tried very hard but number of guests made it difficult. Also, historical information was spotty and very lacking in places such as Valley of the Kings. The incessant emphasis on tipping was annoying. Also, no real free time to enjoy the scenery or walk around where possible. The tour was 'saved' by the location and sights; ancient egypt is absolutely stunning and we're glad we went. However, my recommendation would be for travellers to really dig into the offering; look at the properties and take recommendations of other travellers seriously. Accomodations really need improvement. "
"Sicily was way more than what I was expecting! We had a group of 9, which was fantastic. We all got along and we used a smaller bus to get around. Fabio, our driver, was an excellent driver and always kept us safe. Francesco, our Tour Director, was excellent and informing us of our plans, schedules and some brief history. The city tour of Palermo was too brief (we toured one place) but the local guides hired were very knowledgeable.

"Loved Juan Pablo! Had a great time:)"
"The Israel portion of the tour was good, except I wish that Go Ahead had warned me and my husband, in advance, that it was better to bring US Dollars than to buy local currency in either Israel or Jordan. Almost everyone along the tour would rather accept US currency than local currency, and this knowledge would have saved me and my husband a lot of currency conversion fees. In the Jordan portion of the tour, the Petra excursion was the most worthwhile, but considering all the overall bus travel time involved and the generally poor wait service at hotel dinners, the Jordan portion may not have been a good value. In addition, for those tourists who did not want to walk the entire 6+ miles at the Petra excursion, making transportation arrangements back to the entrance from the Treasury site was extremely difficult and costly. My husband walked the 2 miles down to the Treasury, but when he was finally able to hire a horse carriage to take him back, he was forced to pay an outlandish fee (40 Dinar), and the poor, abused horse gave out 2/3 of the way back, forcing my husband to walk the rest of the way.

"The only so- so day was because of the weather cancelling the amalfi coast excursion. "

"The itinerary was well-thought out, and we saw the maximum sites that traced the liberation of France, Luxembourg and Brussels. I opted to do the Berlin extension, which was particularly meaningful to me, as I had lived in West Germany during the Cold War, and was in East Berlin frequently, prior to the Wall coming down. The hotel locations were great, too. I generally stay around Victoria Station in London, so had never stayed in the East end, near the Tower of London. So, I used my free time on the day of arrival to re-visit the Tower, which turned out to be a much more extensive experience than I remember from the past. Traveling to Dover, by coach, was great, as like the soldiers, we were heading towards the point where the troops crossed over to Calais. I enjoyed the ferry, as you have a spectacular view of the White Cliffs of Dover. Normandy is always a moving experience, and this time was no exception. The one tiny deviation that bothered me was that the step-on guide for the beaches opted to stop not ON Omaha Beach, but above it. My note in the evaluation was that Americans come all that way to walk on the actual beach, which you can do where the sculpture is located on the beach, that celebrated the 60th anniversary (I believe). I liked the hotel in Deauville, and we used our free day to visit the Bayeux tapestry, which is a world heritage treasure. We stayed in Paris in Montmartre, which is a great location, because there is still some of the artist colony up on the hill. In doing a short walking tour around poor Notre Dame, it is clear that the Left Bank has become gentrified. Going to Versailles is always a great trip back to the 18th Century, and I even opted for the evening cruise on the Seine, where we saw amazing lights on the Eiffel Tower. Notre Dame is nearly totally destroyed, so seeing it again was good. Seeing the place where the end of the War was documented with signing the treaty that determined the shape of Europe after WW II, was good, in Reims, along with seeing the sister cathedral to Notre Dame, which is in good shape. The part of the trip relatively new to me was the push towards Luxembourg, and the Maginot Line. That excursion should be included in the full cost of the trip, because it is so important, to understand the reason for the Battle of the Bulge and Patton's contribution. Berlin was very interesting to me, because I used to cross over into East Berlin at Friedrichstrasse, walk to Unter den Linden, and see NO vehicles or people, other than police or soldiers. Now East Berlin looks to me like Las Vegas! It is amazing to see the reconstruction of the area around Alexanderplatz. Staying at the Radisson Park Inn right there in the middle of Alexanderplatz was fabulous. With the Pergamon Museum on Museum Island, and the DDR Museum near the cathedral (on the east side), the location of the hotel made it possible for all of the group to see the most interesting area of Berlin, for me, now. Potsdam is of course the icing on the cake, being able to walk over the Glienicke Bridge, where the spy exchanges occurred, and seeing where Truman, the successor for Churchill and Stalin met to essentially carve up Berlin and initiate the beginning of the COLD War. The trip was simply a wonderful trip back to 1944+ and I very much appreciated all the trouble our most able guide, Kathy P, took to make sure we all had a great experience. Like I said, the hotels were well-positioned. Given that the itinerary is very intense, having to waste time by staying at hotels too far out, would have negatively impacted our experience. So, keep that hotel in the plan for Paris (Montmartre) and Berlin (Alexanderplatz). It was an amazing experience, and a very nice group of patriots to travel with!"
"We loved our tour of Spain, Portugal and Morocco with EF Go Ahead Tours, especially the extension in Barcelona. I say this because my husband and I were there several years ago and went on a tour of Gaudi's work throughout the city with a different group. That other tour was a disaster! In contrast, Go Ahead Tours had a local guide who was knowledgeable and passionate about the subject matter. Having the "whisperer" headset also makes a HUGE difference! It changed my opinion about Gaudi's work completely and I could more readily understand the genius behind his unusual approach to architecture. I particularly loved the time that we spent in the Sagrada Familia; it was like walking through a rainbow! There is so much more that I could tell about our 18 days in this beautiful part of the world. In short, let me say that it was a banquet of amazing cathedrals, palaces, and city tours that left me with a small "taste" and a desire for more (maybe Northern Spain, "Wine, Dine, and Shrine"). My bags have been unpacked for over a week since our return, but it will certainly take longer for me to unpack my head!
Manuel S. was an excellent Tour Director! He went above and beyond in making sure we were cared for and enjoyed our time in his home country. He loves his country (Spain) as well as the others where we traveled, but I can not say enough about how well he cared for our group! "
"Wonderful trip! Right mixture of guided and free time. Stephania was great, she made sure each individual was taken care of. If you wanted to do something on your own she helped facilitate it, giving instructions on how to get there. Plenty of free time to explore at your own pace. We given a list of suggestions on how to spend our free time. The tour guides at each place were engaging and loved sharing their city with us."
"Pros: The tour guide was absolutely wonderful! She was very knowledgeable and very personable. The tour in each city gave you a taste of what there was to see and gave you plenty of time to explore on your own. our guide gave us great recommendations on where to go, where to shop, where not to buy on our free time that we felt we got the best ever experience in each city! I would travel with this company again. No matter what we encountered, like high tide in Venice, the guide always had a Plan B so that we could enjoy our day!
Cons: The water taxi from the airport in Venice I felt was not a good fit. There was no stable way to get from the taxi to the landing, no board to walk across, you basically jumped from the boat to the steps.. Also, there is a LOT of walking and standing with no breaks to sit down and rest. If you have trouble standing and walking for long periods of time, make sure you take that into account. Breaks on a couple of the longer walking tours would have been very welcomed. "
