"Planned a tour for March - April, 2021. Was paying on the tour when Pandemic broke out. Like many others, I fell on hard times and contacted them to see if I could get a refund of the $1,625 I had already paid. The rep cold heartedly told me no, as my refund time had passed by a month. I can get a voucher to travel later but no refund. I informed the rep I now needed the funds to assist with my living expenses and didn't know when I might travel again if we make it through this pandemic. She could not have cared less. I can't believe with all that is going on, they would not return my funds. I will never travel with them and will tell everyone, on every social media outlet, just how cold-hearted and un-caring EF Tours is to those doing business with them in these dire times!!!

"I booked a tour to Morocco (departing May 28, 2020) for my daughter's college graduation present. We were so excited, but then the COVID-19 pandemic hit. Mid-May I called to discuss my travel plans. They asked if I wanted to "upgrade" my Trip Protection insurance in case I decided to cancel due to the pandemic. I assured them that if the trip was not cancelled by them, we intended to still go. I was assured that my "Basic Trip Protection" coverage would cover me for a full refund if the tour was cancelled by them. Two weeks later I was notified that "Given the ongoing travel restrictions and advisories worldwide, and with the health and safety of our communities at the forefront, all tours between now and May 31 have been postponed." I was advised that they would "be in touch directly in the coming days to help you reschedule your tour to a future date, or should you need more time to plan, offer you a future travel voucher."
I advised them that unfortunately I cannot reschedule the trip because my daughter is starting a new job this summer and will not have the vacation time available to take an extended trip of this sort probably for at least several years. I was assured previously that the trip protection insurance that I paid for would cover me if they cancelled the trip (which they did even though they are disguising it as a postponement). Now I'm told that I have a credit that I must use in 1 year or I will loose the cost of my "Trip Protection" as well as a $450 cancellation fee per ticket. When I called the Trip Protection company to verify coverage, I was told EF Go Ahead Tours told them to deny coverage unless the claimant was quarantined because they actually had the COVID-19 virus. I believe this is unfair business practices. I did not cancel my trip, however I am refused a full refund. With the economic hardships caused to everyone as a result of this pandemic, this company should be more understanding of the fact that we cannot afford to simply "forfeit" our hard-earned money. They have insurance that would cover their business losses, just like I believed my trip insurance would cover mine. I am now told I have until August 31st to make up my mind. I do not plan to use this company again if they "steal" my money in this manner. Where else can I post this review and how can I join the law suit?!?"
"Even though I purchased their "Any Reason" cancellation protection, Go Ahead refuses to refund 100% of my tour cost which was cancelled due to COVID-19. Horrible way to treat your customers. Will never use them again!"
"Go Ahead Cancelled Ireland tour due to Corona virus. I paid in full for 3 persons. They refused to make a full refund, even though they cancelled the tour and we did not. Their policy says that customers will lose deposit and more if customer cancels. Go ahead has agreed to refund 40% of the full cost--they will keep 60% without providing anything. This is the definition of theft. I still have not received the 60% and expect I may never see it. $12,000 down the drain. Beware!"
"This company cares only about money and getting a free windfall of it from customers who paid for trips which were canceled by this greedy company because they did not get 15 people to sign up and then because of the Coronavirus. Their office staff is disorganized, confused, clearly not very intelligent and knows nothing about any of the trips or travel in general. They canceled trips for many people, including school children and their parents and also including seniors and refuse to refund 100%. They somehow think they are entitled to keep the $300 each deposit when the customer receives NOTHING IN RETURN but rudeness and a huge headache because it takes time to research and schedule trips and then to have Go Ahead Tours cancel and force you to reschedule or keep your money is so unfair. STAY AWAY FROM THIS UNETHICAL GREEDY COMPANY. THEY CARE ABOUT ONE THING: GETTING FREE UNEARNED MONEY AND THEY DON'T CARE IF YOU ARE A CHILD, SENIOR, ETC. There are class action lawsuits pending against this immoral company. Only travel with the companies who are refunding in full because of the Corona virus. "
"Our trip was to be in May 2020 and was cancelled by Go Ahead due to the Coronavirus after we had paid the full cost of the trip for two. When contacted about a refund, the only way we would NOT lose our deposit of $600 was if we allowed them to keep the entire amount paid until the trip was rescheduled or changed to another tour. We asked them to refund everything EXCEPT the deposit and carry the deposit until another trip could be scheduled. They refused to consider doing this and carrying our deposit. The only was to get our $6000 payment back was to lose our $600 deposit. After several wonderful tours, Go Ahead proved themselves to be unconcerned about our financial loss or hardships caused by their inflexibility."
"February 3-10 we traveled with Fabricio and 11 others on a fantastic excursion to Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands. Fabricio excelled with his knowledge, his compassion, his flexibility and his energy. Everything was beautifully handled and the cultural aspects of the trip exceeded our expectations, Ecuador itself far exceeded what we envisioned -- we loved the people the diverse topography, the scenery. We went on the trip because of the Galapagos Legend recommendation (and the recommendation for GoAhead). Our group size of 13 was perfect, the fellow travelers were interesting and conversations flowed easily. Emil was our Naturalist Guide in the islands and he also was superb with knowledge, attitude, flexibility and personality.We returned home and wrote a short article for our neighborhood exclaiming that this trip is one that should be on the top of everyones bucket list (while one has the energy to do it!) "
"The tour was well organized and everything went off without a hitch. Both tour directors, Rodrigo (Ecuador and Galapagos) as well as Roberto (Peru) were outstanding. For Galapagos we were on a small cruise ship with about 100 passengers who were organized into smaller groups to go onto the islands. The guides were very knowledgeable and helpful, even looked up answers to questions they could not answer on the spot. A nice touch was a video which was prepared by all the guides of the various groups, which was made available on the internet.
Our group for Peru was small, only four people, so we got a lot of individual attention. Roberto was great, took many pictures and made them available to all the group members by copying them onto their devices. A nice touch and much appreciated. Being 80 years old, I was somewhat affected by the altitude and had lots of tips (and patience) from Roberto.
All in all an excellent tour."
"Great tour guide and driver! Loved all of the places we went to ending in Belfast was kind of a negative. As the wars there are all anyone wanted to talk about. Loved the sheep dog day and the meal and all of the neighbors who came to play music and dance. Perfect day!! I would travel with you again in a heartbeat. "

"Our flight to and from Iceland was uneventful, which is always good. We had an excellent tour guide who was born in Iceland and knew the history, geography and geology of the Island. Our hotel for 4 nights was in the Center of Reykjavik. The other night was out of the city and a wonderful experience of the Northern Lights. We also did see the lights in and around the city, also. We had a trip up a glacier and then walked through the Ice tunnel, 120 feet under the glacier. One day we got to go to the Blue Lagoon which is heated by geothermal energy and like a big hot tub. While in the lagoon, it started to snow and blow, which made the experience even better. So much fresh fish and friendly people, it was a great trip.
I had a wonderful experience and I checked that off my bucket list. "
