Unable to contact customer service

"Groupon in the recent months has discontinued their customer service completely. The app will give you the runaround if you try to chat with somebody directly they try to upsell you and if you’re not interested in that they will disconnect you and block you from responding. If you request a call back you will get an email letting you know they’re having technical difficulties and unable to reach you and to try again. If you send an email it let you know they will respond within 24 hours however you will never get a response. Make sure if you are purchasing something it isn’t going to have any issues because if you do have an issue you are up the creek with no paddle."

Horrible customer service - unreliable

"I have purchased multiple groupons from the company. Many have ended up in the Merchant no longer accepting the voucher. After contacting Groupon they only offered a trade in or Groupon bucks as a refund. I got a new service which again did not accept the voucher. I contact Groupon advising all their preferred merchants are unreliable costing me to pay out of pocket for the services. Groupon explained the would not refund my money to my bank account because I used the trade in. I explain I only used the trade in because that was the only option they gave me. They did not assist and had no intention to do so. Horrible customer service from the representatives and the manager Sanath."

Failing Company with No Direction and Terrible Customer Service

"I purchased shoes through Groupon on July 31, 2019 using PayPal as my form of payment. I received the shoes in the wrong size (11.5) and returned them, asking Groupon to send me the correct size (11) that I originally ordered. This, by the way, has happened before in a separate transaction. The replacement pair never came. I contacted Groupon customer support and they gave me three options, an exchange, refund in "Groupon Bucks" or original payment. I opted in for getting my original payment refunded. Instead you proceeded to refund me in "Groupon Bucks", which I won't use as I no longer will be shopping at the site due to the terrible customer experiences I've had.

As a resident where Groupon is headquartered and a shareholder in the company, I've tried to stay optimistic in it's future but can see it's ultimate downfall through personal experiences and interactions with others. I sold off my stock before the company completely folded from lack of positive customer service and direction. I'm tired of wasting my time with Groupon and the constant mistakes it makes. I'm sure the children running this company are currently enjoying there non productive office roles so enjoy the foosball games while they last.

Near Impossible to Get Support or Management

"I have had several issues. I have written to the executives in past and have received NOTHING in return regarding my concerns of the ethics of some of their associated merchants.

Company now offers support by website chat. However, when I had an order "hang" in a "processing" state, the person could do nothing. I used a coupon on the order which was limit 1. I also used PayPal, but the Groupon site errored when attempting to link to PayPal. The order was then hung in "processing"

They could cancel the order but not reissue my ability to use the coupon. They could not place the order for me. They could not update the billing information. They could do...NOTHING.

The next day (order now in a failed - resubmit credit card state) when connecting by chat they also could not find where I could click to update the CC info. In the end they"made a one time exception" for their own error. Telling me that is belittling. I sent an email asking for a manager to call...the rep calling me back was n not a manager and took over 25 minutes of haggling with me -- wanting to know the issue - when I told them it was a personnel issue. Eventually they transferred me only to have me wait indefinitely...I eventually hung up and sent another phone request.

Terrible for small business

"Groupon may seem like a good idea to get new customers in the door, but the reality is that it costs more money than it brings in. Groupon customers are shopping for a deal and do not want to spend more than they intended when they bought their groupon. As a small business, we had to cut our price of our normal service then pay Groupon half of what was actually sold. This is easily recovered in our business if customers would spend any extra when they come in but most do not. In addition, some of the rudest customers we have had lately have been groupon patrons. Our business will never use this service again"

Horrible decline in service

"I purchased a groupon recently and the merchant by mistake redeemed it. I called to rectify and the merchant apologized and stated it was there error. They could not un redeem it however I needed to call Groupon. So I do so only they have no phone number ridiculous! So I live chatted which was painful and time consuming speaking with someone who can’t understand basic english or was just a robot. She put the groupon back in my account but stated it was a one time curtesy. When I inquired what that meant because surely they would help me again if I had this happen an error not on my account but rather the merchant they would make it right correct? That’s just good customer service and legal thing to do. Nope she tells me they would not help again even if it wasn’t my fault and the merchant redeemed it in error. Wow! Unreal so I will never buy anything from them again because who knows the next $50 plus I spend buying something could easily be redeemed before use with no one to help correct it. "

FAKE SERVICE

"I got a coupon for Jiffy Lube oil change that was supposed to include everything. It gave me a $20 discount nothing else. I paid $20 for it, I didn't have to get it from Groupon. JIFFY LUBE LIED. GROUPON IS COMPLICIT. DONT BOTHER!"

Too complicated. Need a better customer service.

"I really have a bad experienced with Groupon Everytime I used it. I have purchased an order of 300$. I didn't got to use it or redeem it. Some order got redeem but I've Never even used it. They will let you trade in, only with a certain time frame. If you pass the time frame, they won't let you trade-in. It's says "it's refunded" but Where did my money go? Well, I don't have it in my Groupon's account, not even a $1 back.. OMG!
Contact us link does not even help you at all.. it's hard to contact them. Their response takes forever.

They have scammed me so many times I'm done.

"The idea of a lot of people pitching in to get a discount is good, but Groupon is so shady it's not worth it. They have no moral compass and will hide hidden fees into their fine print. Then not allow refunds after you find the hidden fees. Products will be broke and they won't return it. The local deals are merchants that don't want to use them and make you feel awkward. It's just a bunch of junk just to try save a couple bucks. My overall feeling is the company itself is ran by scammers."

"Ordered 2 identical items, received 1, when I finally got to “chat” with a customer service person, no phone number, they with responded with sorry, what would you like to do? I replied that they could refund the credit card and send confirmation. No confirmation as of this writing. This was a bad FIRST experience.

Groupon purchases birthday gift

"I was trying to find a practical Birthday gift for my adult Son that just purchased a Town home.

I saw a Online Groupon advertisement or sale for the Dyson V6 stick style battery operated vacuum, I see that Dyson has a good rating so I purchased the Dyson V6 from Groupon.

Everything from this point goes down hill with no helpful or positive results.

Let me explain, I purchased the Dyson V6 from Groupon, it was shipped to me 12 days later. I thought it would be a good idea to open the carton and charge the battery. To my surprise the vacuum shipped with no A/C power adapter. I communicated with Groupon about the missing battery, no help. My Son’s Birthday was a week away and assumed Groupon was not going to help me fast enough with my “None working vac and missing adapter,” so I went Online to Craigslist and found a new charger for around $ 60.00, I picked it up locally so that saved me time.

I tried to charged the Dyson V6 with the new Dyson charger I purchased so the birthday gift would be up and working as soon as he opened the present. When my Son opened the carton he tried to use the Dyson Vacuum, it would only work for 2 or 3 seconds, I assumed the charge I did maybe was not plugged in all the way and did not get a full charge. I asked my Son to leave it plugged into the charger over night for at least 12-24 hours, unfortunately after 24 hours of charging it would only charge or operate for about 3 seconds.

Back to Groupon’s Customer service department, multiple emails to Groupon with no solutions. I would have thought Groupon would offered a replacement or my money back, no such offer.

I was shipped a defective, non working Dyson V6 vacuum, including a missing A/C power adapter and Groupon would do nothing, even after 7 or 8 emails from me.

My next source was my funding provider PAYPAL, Paypal some how in the strangest way opted to support the seller GROUPON and not me. Again many emails and calls to Paypal with absolutely no offer to give my money back.

I would like to give or offer the worst possible negative feedback to Groupon for selling a defective, missing parts Dyson V6 vacuum, along with no help or positive resolution to the purchaser for non-working product and missing parts of the Dyson V6 vacuum.

Needless to say I’m extremely frustrated and disgusted with Groupon and will NEVER purchase another product or service from Groupon again, also my Family and friends will back me up with their support.

This was embarrassing Birthday gift and extremely time consuming for me trying to get Groupon to replace a defective non working Dyson including the missing adapter.

I will NEVER purchase another product from Groupon, but I will tell everyone I come in contact with of the very poor negative experience purchasing a Birthday gift for my Son from Groupon.

If there were a negative feedback of more than zero (being the worst), I would give Groupon a Triple negative zero negative feedback.

In summary I have a defective (non-working) and missing parts Dyson V6 vacuum, and I lost $ 138.38 and all the time and frustration I had purchasing and dealing for my Son’s Birthday gift from GROUPON.

Wine scam

"I made the mistake of trying to buy wine, which looked like a good deal, for a Christmas gift. About to check out and you then see it is 30 dollars shipping-so not a great deal. I tried to call their Customer Service number to cancel, but it does not work. Sent and email and you get a reply to follow a link, so I thought I had cancelled. Turns out they still billed me, so I had to dispute with my credit card carrier. Groupon fought it so I had to send multiple pages of detail. Eventually the credit card company had a second number which they tried (while I was on the line for 5 minutes) and whoever answered at Groupon hung up on them. Eventually a manager at Cap One agreed with me and gave me the credit. He even said they would try and block Groupon in the future. Groupon must truly be spiraling out of control as they head for disaster. Who does not have a real, live customer service department. Scam artists. Avoid them."

bad company with bad customer support

"Groupon advertise the Amount Paid never expires and you will never lose this even if the voucher expires. Had a situation where the voucher expired and wanted to use the Amount Paid, but the vendor will not honor it. Groupon will not honor the amount paid either. They completely ignore the issue and offer me 6 groupon buck to shop with them again and ended the chat. The logic here?? "
